@akuorekelate isn't it 50? haha but anyways I don' t think I could keep playing Skyrim with even my character beyond level 50. You get too strong and you've done most of the unique quests. After lvl 50 its time for a new character. I' took my Redguard to level 45 and then stopped; now doing high elf.

folloer levels are fixed depending on what level you wee when you first entrerd their zone i.e. Riften for mercurio, Darklight tower for Illia

Let's say they're all the same level, Id say any one of Aranea, mercurio and illia are the best.

@123Bilboy Eola is also very potent mage, she's only follower who casts Reanimate Corpse conjuration and she's got really good Destruction spells. I'd say she's on par with Aranea.

Only problem with her is she is a battlemage meaning when she runs out of magika, she'll run in and fight like a warrior which isnt exactly what I want my mages to do as theyll die easily

Besides, most mages have healing spell so they're not quite that frail.

Another follower I think is worth looking at is Belrand. He is the only Spellsword in the game maxing out Light Armor, One Handed, and Destruction. Similarly to J'zargo there is some wasted potential. I think the only spells he has are Oakflesh, Conjure Familiar, Fast Healing, and Lesser Ward which means no destruction spells in his arsenal. Perhaps he would make good use of a staff but I've never tried it.

@TheIllusion008 - archery is best for stealth, so archery & sneak trees. the 3x bonus really makes a huge difference.

invisibility is for sale at the college once you have high enough skill

@rivereri000 in my opnion you should get a mage companion. you stay in the frontline dealing damage, and your mage companion in a distance casting spells. simple yet effective tactic. mages and warriors work well together :P
