  • When a game goes under 60fps in a game i can see the difference from when it is a solid 60 (when i set fps cap)

  • Why is Linus comparing the 8800gtx to 560 ti LOL, they are different generation of graphics processing power!

  • @romefox Try listening to the video....

  • @MW2watchyourback09 Must of skipped through the important bit's.

  • @romefox He said that he was comparing old and new hardware and the 560Ti is what gamers with an 8800GTX would likely upgrade to.

  • How can people not see the difference between 30fps vs 60fps, I guess from years of gaming your eye is more trained to spot it!

  • i'm gettin a gigabyte gtx 550 w/ 1gb of memory

any major difference between the gtx 550 and gtx 560?

and i want to know how it will do with fallout 3 and the first assassin's creed, both on ultra settings

  • @jakesnake237

you wont be able to max assasins creed, its pretty demanding, but what are your s[pecs?

  • @jakesnake237 the 560ti is a lot better in performance than the 550. i would just spend or save more for the 560ti. i've never tried fallout but i know assasin's creed isn't that hard to run. I can run it on my laptop just fine and it looks awesome.

  • @jakesnake237 The 550 is a great card but not really powerful enough to play games at ultra settings at a playable FPS. Go for the 560 since it only costs slightly more but performs significantly better. Personally I think the Radeon 6870 is the best choice at that price range considering it cost's about 20 bucks less and perform's slightly better the the GTX 560!

  • i switched from 9800 gt to a 570 gtx

  • I went from a 8800GT to a AMD 6870, and next pc I'm switching to a MSI N570GTX probably on my next build. (I miss my CUDA when video editing)

  • Guys can I run 8800 GTX without pins?

  • @marouanebenouzekri No, you cant.

  • i can see a difference from 60-120 fps on a 120 hz monitor, it actually makes me motion sick at 120 fps lol

  • I'm sick of people saying that the human eye can only see 30/60fps all the time, the human eye doesn't process images in frames.

  • @NINJApenguinCHIMP nope but that doesnt rly matter now does it

  • @NINJApenguinCHIMP IT doesn't, but it still isn't fast enough to capture a "frame/image" that appears and dissapears so fast...although 30 or 60 aren't the correct numbers...the human eye can only capture amount of fps's

  • I play crysis 800X600 low dx9 0 aa/af: about 20 fps. I ENVY U GUYS, xcept im ranked multiplayer...

  • I went from the 8800GT to the 550 ti. it's low power and good enough for me.

  • No human eye is the same. Statistically for most 30 FPS is the maximum people can see any difference. For some though it can range from 31 all the way up to 200. No human is the same so stop saying humans can only see up to 30 FPS. Most can, but some can basically go up to 200.

  • @l3E7Studios

Probably true. I never understand why people say 30 fps is the most you can see. I notice is a massive difference between 30 and 60, and then i notice an even bigger difference between 60 and 120. But generally 60fps+ is extremely smooth.

  • @l3E7Studios Actually nobody is limited to seeing at 30FPS, and most people can see a difference between 30FPS and 60FPS on a 60hz monitor.

  • @Fortune2point0 @l3E7Studios Same with 120FPS 120hz monitor

  • @Fortune2point0 Boy those people must have loads of trouble when they go to the cinema and watch a film at 24FPS

  • @OliverBoj Not usually because films use different techniques to produce images and also have a LOT of motion blur which makes things look smoother.

  • @Fortune2point0 I see lag at 30 fps. My friends dont see it. i want 45+ if im not gonna feel like its choppy

  • There's no FPS for an eye, no shutters, no numbers. At least I can see difference between 120 and 60 fps monitors.

  • It's actually 60 FPS the human eye can see. If you don't believe me, trying playing CounterStrike with an FPS-cap at 30 FPS. It's fucking impossible.

  • @DiViNiTY1337 no no no no no. just no that is not a good argument because duhhhhh seeing half the frames that the person that poos on you is bad and so on. go to bestbuy look at a 60hz 120hz and 240hz tv and then come back at me bro

  • Lol i get 36 fps on crysis 1920x1200 very high,0aa, 0af, dx10 with 8800 Ultra sli. The GTX 460/560 TI isnt much of an upgrade since sli of previous generation cards get around the same fps as a GTX 560 TI just no dx11. GTX 470/570 would be a better upgrade.

  • real gamers play 800x600 at 25FPS

  • @pufixas you fail.

  • linus the human eye sees at 60fps not 30 ;)

  • @PCGamerLewis Left eye 30fps + right eye 30fps = 60fps. (Just joking).

  • @Nielstm25 haha :)

  • @PCGamerLewis That varies a lot from person to person. Some jet-fighter pilots are able to notice something passing by in a 200th of a second, meaning they can see up to a 200 FPS. You should try gaming with 120 fps on a 120hz monitor, most people do notice a difference even beyond 60 fps, but not as much as from 30 to 60 for example.

  • What about the 3DFX Voodoo 5?

    I'm kidding.

  • The human eye can only withstand 250 not 30.

  • @TylerMontalto true but it has something to do with the hertz :)

  • i'm dx11

  • if you ever played Guitar hero 3 on a old pc, you will notice that below 60 fps, its hard to press the bottons on time

  • my 4850 still kick ass, i may upgrade it to a 7xxx, but im not so sure for the 560 ti : /

  • why do you have all of these cards?

  • I don't get it. When I play a game like CSS, it seems like under 70 FPS is really bad. And big players are at more than 600-800 FPS.

People say that human eye can't see more than x images/second (about 10 to 30), but I feel like It's really low when I'm at less than 60-70 FPS...

    Don't know why...

  • @ThisIsItBing That's probably an engine error. If you have a 60HZ monitor, and you have an FPS over 60, then it doesn't matter at all. Your monitor cannot show more then 60FPS if you have a 60HZ monitor. The human eye is not based on FPS. It uses a different system. But I think our eye can see more then 200FPS. I can tell the difference between 200FPS on a 200HZ monitor and 60FPS on a 60HZ monitor.

And to answer your question, CSS is not really good for FPS comparisons.

  • Next time compare voodoo 2 with GTX 680

  • Still need my 2nd GTX 560 Ti but got a monitor or 2 to buy first.

  • It's up around........???

  • you can push the 8800 gtx to ultra on crysis without lag

  • @UmaraiL single card? pretty sure not.

  • @UmaraiL on 800x600? no problem ;)

  • @UmaraiL what a bull shit !! Even a gtx 580 with i5 /7 2600 k has a hard time in crysis on highest with full AA modes!!!

  • I still use 8800GTX and mine runs fine on sc2 and bf3

  • @Tazzjohn260 what cpu u pairing that old 88 with lol

probly run most shit on a low 720p still nicely.

  • @Gibson299 no nothing on low. I play on Medium settings, I'm don't like to play everything high and try to burn my card out fast.

  • @Tazzjohn260 your card cant burn out. its meant to be used so you can also max it. as long as you dont overclock it to the max and dont have enough cooling its fine because even on maximum capacity there is still plenty of headroom because nvidia for example doesnt clock the gpu so high in order to be more durable.

  • @Tazzjohn260 burn out a card ??? ROFL you need to learn a lot yet like what airflow is

  • @Arnoud1987000 If your card gets to hot. It can crash/freeze up...

  • @Tazzjohn260 NO think again.. I overclock since 1997.. when a card gets to hot the software let it shut down.. DOHhhh

  • @Tazzjohn260 You can burn out your card... but only from overvolting it, like a lot of GTX 570s we're burning out at 1.1V, otherwise yeah it's possible to freeze. You can tell if it froze when the screen goes black and you hear the fan speed change drastically (going back to boot profile). The only way something will burn out without overclocking is if you SOMEHOW manage to start a damn fire in the case or if it's very old and fizzles out, much less of a burn, just clearing that up for others.

  • @Tazzjohn260 yh this guy seems a bit biased towards upgrade

  • @Tazzjohn260 could you tell me what are your other specs !

  • @AdamCW2k5 just go to my Channel and look for BattleField Stress test

  • @Tazzjohn260 you must play at some tiny resolution. my 9800gt barely stays at over 30 fps in BFBC2 at 1600x900

  • @Reiincarnation no not really anymore. i got rid of my 23inch and went to a 42inch. still plays fine without crashes or blue screens.

  • @Tazzjohn260 well, i got also the 8800 GTX and got a GTX 580 now.. but with the 8800 GTX BF3 is running on like 20 fps is really a shit experience even on 1024x768.. so you LIE!! and that was with i5 quad core on 3800 mhz and 8GB of ram !

  • @Arnoud1987000 dude go to my channel and look at my bf3 stress test video....

  • if you still own an 8800 you are broke and fail at life. Kill yourself.

  • The human eye can se up to 60fps in daylight

  • @StianCrack Humans don't see frames per second. We aren't computers.

  • @StianCrack actually our eyes are not limited to a certain number or FPS.

on another note, i was looking into a 560 due to it being a good budget card since im poor and on a budget hahaha

  • can you do an image quality comparising with an gtx 460 from asus 1gb and the 8800 gtx

  • @lyon111096 a 460 performs 1% better then a 550

  • HE PICKED HIS NOSE AND LICKED HIS FINGER D:

  • why the fuck does my 6950 run crysis so bad

even my geforce 9600gt beats it D:

  • @nukeclears bad driver?

  • @Willis53y using the latest drivers :|

  • @nukeclears strange. try the driver before that and if thats not the case check your tempure of the card because gpu can get very hot. when hot the gpu performance degrades due to the heat so go check that out :)

  • the best generation 8000 seriers on 2006-2007

  • Walking down memory lane...the mighty 8800 GT! I upgraded to a GTX 560 OC (not TI).

  • what a good 120hz monitor right now

  • ....but can it play Minecraft?

  • linus was picking his noise 1:50

  • @40ozDiRtYHaRrY40oz Now I know why he doesn't like gloss screens.

  • @Gollsodia hahaha right

  • Comment removed

  • 2:48 MASSIV framedrop

  • i hear you man i see games run better at 60 FPS

  • GTX 560 ti was a TERRIBLE experience in crysis.. the memory bandwith totally fucks it up.. its slow crap IN MY OPINION!!

GTX 580 will dimply destroy it and crysis needs about 230 GBPS bandwith

  • Curious i know you were using max settings but were you using an AA at all ?

  • that is not surprising. That 560 is a bullshit. I play crysis wars in very hi, no aa and 1080p at 45 to 60fps. And surprise, with a 8800gt 512mb(xfx alpha dog, standart) with aftermarket cooler, oc to 850 core clock, 1820 shader, 1000 memory clock. Here my gpu max TEMP 60c to 65celsios. Thats way most of the directx 10 users don't buy that crap. The only game i had problems to play were Batlefield 3. The rest of games i tried is a piace of cake to my card.

  • @whiteniggerspiderman

Stop lying... I'm 200% sure you have framedrops below 30 quite often.

  • @OoUchihaMadara yes it have frame drops, but below 30 only when on Mesa with a lot of mess. Believe or not i don't care. I will not make a video to show u.

  • he hacked the values for speed mode

  • Which manufacturer makes the card in that form?I have been looking all over for the reference design.

  • @agiste101 EVGA

  • @agiste101 Go to nVidia's website. They will redirect you to Amazon though but if you want the glossy black and green accents you will pay a premium of $50 USD for them =/ which is not worth it. The MSI Twin Frozr II is a WAY better value.

  • i ahve the GTX560Ti Overclocked edition @900mhz in SLi with quad core phenom Black Edition @4ghz and 16gb Ram @2ghz and fast Gigabyte 990fx UD5 Mobo, plays anything you want :D check my vids

  • 8800 stil rocks!

  • this vid was uploaded on my birthday :)

  • What resolution is Linus running when he uses the 8800? Cos I have an 8800 GTS and get about 30-40fps on 1080p and 50-60 on 720p both with Medium settings.

  • 550 ti stillllll much better ^^ :D

  • btw, i got A 20in asus monitor in front of me.

  • Bad comparison. 8800 GTX/UItra was the performance card of 2006/2007. Compare it to the GTX 580, not to a main stream card like the GTX 560 Ti.

  • @acana79 did you mean - "compare it to the GTX285" ?

  • @zorandesign no

  • @acana79 well, he compared an old beast and a new mainstream. So, it's obvious that the chosen old beast is very old, so, why not compare the new mainstream with the previous beast ( read:highend )? Your suggestion has not its place here pal.

  • I totally disagree. He says 3 years is about the average upgrade cycle, and people who bought the 8800 gtx/ultra are people who would look at the GTX 580, not a mainstream card like the GTX 560. The point of this article makes no sense. Either you take the old crown, compare it with the new crown and study the performance gains. Or you look at old mainstream vs new mainstream. There is no point in cross referencing since you’re targeting different consumers.

  • @acana79 ok. you think that way, I think different. nvm

  • @acana79 He usually does comparisons by price.

  • @acana79 He was simply showing how long our technology has gone far.

  • @acana79 why bad? I had nvidia 7900 and stepped to GTX 260 after a year or 2 after the 200 series. For me it was important to know the difference with and older card and a new card. I had to google it. FOr people with an older card it's good to know the big difference with the newer card. Voila. Thumbs up for this video thumbs for your comment :P

  • @acana79 Faggot, the GTX 560 Can run any game at 30+ fps on any settings, just because people don't want to spend $575 on a Shitstick video card doesn't mean their video card is "main stream".

  • @TheGenesisfreak I don't think you know what Mainstream is. And there's no need to be rude.

  • @TheGenesisfreak

    wow youre an idiot.

  • @acana79 well probably exactly this was what he intended to do

  • what screen is that? and is there any screens do you favor?

  • if can notice you can notice the difference between 50 and 60 fps like Linus, then your biologically impossible

  • THAT's A monster :D

  • @mask477 you should see what Radeon 6950 does, then you'll call this card....hm, with some other less intense name :D

  • have two 560s ti having fun

  • how do i get that fps meter on the top right?

  • @wolvesXD FRAPS its a recording program, but it also does FPS Benchmarking

  • @wolvesXD FRAPS

  • with a 2600K CPU you wont notice any bottle neck with a 560TI XD i mean i have a Q6600 CPU on LGA 775 over clocked FSB to 1333 and the ghz to 3.0 and i dont notice any bottleneck at all :P

  • Check my video out on GTX 690

  • sry mate, byt YT runs only on 30FPS.. so take another videoweb to compare..

  • Is it a smart choice to dip my GTX260 now and buy a GTX570? or should i wait a few months for Kepler to arrive?

    Thanks guys!

  • @LordMaxJa i think u should wait for kepler

  • @LordMaxJa wait for kepler.. but they're gonna be a bit expensive..

  • i agree i cannot even play in 30fps anymore, once you play at like 120fps constant its hard to switch back :P.

  • @gmxgamer Your PSU will support that but little games support physx so I don't see a gain. But for games that do support physx such as mafia 2 and Batman AC you see a nice boost in performance especially on high physx settings

  • With gtx560ti you should be getting a lot more than 40fps with max settings. Is your cpu bottlenecking overall performance?

  • @ElegyForTheMasses yea theres somethin very wrong there

i get max 120 fps on crysis

    average 60 and min 30

  • @ElegyForTheMasses I was about to say the same thing 3 years and 560ti cant run a old game on max? Wth? no point in upgrading till the 600 series then

  • @MattVisual i run lot of games on max egg : batlefield bad company 2

mirror´s edge ,dirt 3,crysis 2 ,gta iv ,batman arkaham asylum, grid assasins creed 1,2 brotherhood and revelations, fifa 12,nfs hot pursuit 2010,the elder scrollsV skyrim,

    obvilion,resident evil 5,bioshock 1 and 2,just cause 2,La noire

mhmm and some more that i dont remenber lol

  • gtx 260 > 8800 ultra, so i'm sure the 560 ti will rape the 8800 gtx..

  • Whoa. The screenshots in the end were impressing. I'm going to buy a GTX 560 Ti soon. I know, there are already better cards on the market, but it's the best I can afford.

  • @ShikogoFox lol gtx 570 580 and 590 are the only stocks graphi cards better than gtx 560 ti

and you will be AMAZED with the power that this card give to you compared by the price

if you overclock it and if you have a good coolin system you will bring this gtx to the power of a 570 or even to a gtx 580 , i have 4 independent fans and i brought my gtx to 1.1 ghz to the core clock and 2335 to memory clock addin only 1.5v to the vcore and only go to 80c celsius under very full load

  • @gmxgamer lol.. not a 580.. and there are a few more cards better than 560 ti... like 6950 6970 and 6990 also the new single gpu king.. 7970...

  • @don2xify yea i´m ordered a gtx 590 from asus

what do you think about it?

is the most powerful or i can get another? i still have time to cancel

  • @gmxgamer yeah 590 is currently the best one out there.. just make sure ur power supply can handle it..

  • @don2xify i will buy the power suply too

maybe the corsair 1200 wats but i was thinkin ... i will get the gtx 590 but i will keep my gtx 560ti to use physx ,do you think is a good idea to do that?

and will my psu suport? =/

  • @gmxgamer 590 is more than enough for any game right now..don't worry about it..just give ur 560ti away.. or sell it..

  • @gmxgamer and u can't run 590 and 560 in sli.. they have to be the same...

  • @don2xify the gtx 560ti will be for physx

  • @gmxgamer 590 is more than enough for any game... u don't need to.. but u can..

  • @don2xify mhmm :/ but with the gtx 590 i will never hear the word 'LAG' again

right? or there is some game that the gtx cant run on max?

  • @gmxgamer yeah...even at 1920x1200.. u could max out any game without any lag...

  • Comment removed

  • @gmxgamer seeing as u want the best... u may want to wait for kepler.. or the 7000 series for amd.. they just released 7970...it's the new fastest single gpu right now.. faster than 580... and just better in every aspect..kepler will come out late this year i think..

  • @don2xify even bf3 ?

    all max ?? even antialising?

OMG I WANT NOVEMBER TO COME !!!!

  • @gmxgamer November..? then I suggest u wait for kepler and see what they got.. might be better..

  • @don2xify hmmmm ok but its becuz i can spend only 800 dolars with a card

will i be able to buy a kepler?

    thanks bro

  • @gmxgamer idk.. lol it hasn't come out yet..but they should be much faster than the 500 series..and nvidia cards are really expensive..

  • @don2xify lol i need it to come out FAST i want some power

i wanna play gta iv in 5 monitors at 100 fps hahah

    kiddin...

  • @gmxgamer lol... gotta buy a good monitor to go over 60 fps.. and yeah.. i'm waiting for it too.. if i get enough money.. i want to buy some.. haha

  • @ShikogoFox I bought a EVGA GTX 560 Ti 2GB, now through their step-up program im getting a 580

  • @ShikogoFox Get a 550ti if your worried about price. It isn't that much of a difference from the 560ti. If possible sli 550tis, its like a gtx580.

  • @BSUTechShow 550 ti in SLI is actually pretty amazing!

  • @9ggubZprod ikr. im getting a second one soon.
