  • Yeah I just spammed the hell out of this by copying and pasting the same comment to people who were talking about the "Christian" aspect of Andy.

  • Ugh, it's live again. Sure is nice hearing the crowd and little low quality of the band. Should be called "50 Percent".

  • 50 was in seattle? wtf >:O i missed dat fucker! grrrr

  • why...if a band mentions the name Jesus, or god, they are right away a "christian band" Andy went to a christian highschool, but felt it wasn't right for him, so dropped out and home schooled the last year...just let them be a band

  • LOL GUD SHIT!

  • yeeessss i was right in front of him at that concert :D

  • What happened to Jeremiah?! DDD:

You guys looked kinda sad in Orlando, did he quit?

  • He's focusing on his wife and running favorite gentalmen records. You cant blame him....but you can miss him. <@;(

  • HA! I was at that Seattle SHOW!

  • My favorite song from your show in SF!

  • You played this when I saw you last year in Florida, and I must say now: this song along with about a hundred other things makes Andy Hull the most amazing man on earth. I am still ranting about how beautiful his beard was in person..

  • @nosmailliwydocbocaj what did they do that was so unchristian?

  • @ JI220: maybe you should check out some of their other "real" songs before you start talking shit.

  • @JI220

Fail troll is fail? I don't know if you're trolling but you just insulted one of the greatest band ever. It is a joke, thus while he is playing it people are laughing. Also, listen to their music before you comment saying they wasted 4 minutes of your time.

  • what's wrong with you?

  • This was the first show of theirs I missed. I'm so sad that I missed out on this.

  • Was at this show, class

  • I felt the Lord begin to peal off all my skin

and I felt the wave within

    reveal the bigger mess

    that you can't fix.

Manchester is the best. Ps. i wanna hang out with fitty too

  • hahaha. I greatly enjoyed that.

  • It depends on what you consider to be Christian. Yes, they have elements of Christian discussion. But I wouldn't overtly call them a Christian band. Instead, they fuse the spiritual with the secular and define a sound that questions God, finds ways of representing him that wouldn't make sense any other way. It's truly inventive. Much better than being a Christian band.

  • @thereisnolight19 I love the way you put this. This can also be said of Brand New. I am going to quote you on this in the future, if you don't mind.

  • better is a very interesting choice of words. It seems that in music, or maybe art altogether, it always seems a lot cooler to be looking for God than to find Him.

  • @brokemusician

I don't know about that. "Christian" marketed bands sell a ton. Which I find ironic. I wonder if Jesus would drive them out of the temple.

  • @thereisnolight19 his dad is a pastor

  • I wouldn't consider them a Christian band at all. They do have lyrics that have references to God but that doesn't make them christian. They don't show Christian values at all. Even at that they are still my favorite band of all time.

  • I agree completely on everything you just stated.

  • @gooogies

This is for this guy and everyone else who has thought about the whole Andy Hull/Christianity thing. His dad and grandpa were both ministers and "Like a Virgin" was all about his insecurities about it all. As far as the rest of his albums, he says he is influenced by are "life, death, God, the devil, my family, my friends, woody allen, the gospels, and various others."

Google "andy hull absolute punk interview" and click the first one. Best interview i've seen of him.

  • there is no god only man and animal.........

  • @thebobVic If you believe that then man is an animal

  • @thereisnolight19

Yeah exactly, there are references to God in some of their songs, but that dosn't even mean that they believe in good, lyrics often mean something completly different to what you think. Even if they are all Christians, they're definatly not a Christian rock band in the genre sense of the term.

  • @thereisnolight19 I think Andy believes in Christ, but is still pretty skeptical of the idea of Him existing. So I don't think Andy is spiritual or religious at all, but I think he still has the thought that Jesus is real. Does that make any sense? I know your comment was 11 months ago, but I wanted to put my thought into it.
