When I was younger I had a Russian Blue, but he sure wasn't elegant or tame. He was at best arrogant and at the worst an asshole. You did not make that cat mad or he would get you back. That is why we named him Evil Man.

We have a stunning domestic short hair that is blue with silver tips. She has green eyes and has the same face as a Russian Blue. She is also very quiet and when she does vocalize it's a quiet "mew". She has to be from the Russian Blue line... My question is how strong is the Russian Blue gene? We were told her mother was blue and she only gives birth to blue kittens, no matter the sire. I have no reason to think that my cats dam was pure bread either.

I have a russian blue (babygirl) and she is the sweetest cat I've ever had.! She's also a big baby. She sleeps with me all night. She will lay her head on my chest with her body on my shoulder. I even get woken up by her sometimes trying to lay on my face lol. I think she tries to get as close as possible. What kinda cute about them (this could just be my cat) but they can barely meow. Lol like you will see their mouth moving to meow, but you might hear a sauerkraut if that. Its so cute :)

@TheSalisburySteak When I got my two russians they were 12 weeks old and it looked like they were too small to be taken from the mother. Now they're monsters and always want to be on my lap or on my shoulders. They are great cats, but they are terrible car riders.

I use to sing to her and she would sing back. Very musical cats and loving. Her organs got shredded when she got into a box of rat poison as a kitten - she survived to be almost 14, but she was damaged inside. Excellent hunter and killer of big birds (e.g. - Ravens) with three massive bells on her collar. I think of her daily and always with the highest degree of adoration.

Also American Shorthairs come in a lot of different color patterns so she could very well be a American Shorthair but I will stick to my opinion that she is a Russian Blue

The russian blues are indeed intelligent. I came across one last fall. According to a friend of mine, that cat was following her home, in front of her, like it knew where she lived and he visited the flat where I lived and found out which room that was mine. I once left my room and he was sitting near my door and followed me to the kitchen. He gave a mouth-gesture when I found my bowl I use for cereal and such. He knew what he was gonna get.

My sister's cat Luna, is what I thought was a Russian Blue, but I just learned in the vid that they have GREEN eyes... Luna has yellow eyes. Does that make her a cross? She looks EXACTLY like the RB. Long, lean, affectionate and a striking blue coat. Any thoughts?

@xbarbiezodiacx Thanks for the lead, never heard of them, but after looking at pictures of the breed online, Luna looks exactly like a Russian Blue build, lean figure, shape, but has the yellow eyes of the British shorthair. I was reading on Russian Blue's and it said if the cat has yellow eyes, it's disqualified from the show ring. Strange because she literally looks exactly like the breed minus with the exception of the eyes...

Our Russian Blues have great personalities and have been very adaptable with the introduction of kids, dogs, other cats and new people. They even love to ride in the car. These people are nuts. Best breed ever!
