Today, we fail to appreciate the shear beauty of music such as this. The only reason I can see not to like it? The fact that Sinatra wont be coming out with any new songs. The only negative? What is there is all. I am 18 and I love Sinatra and the Rat Pack.
@atomaton4 I'm 15 and completely in love with The Rat Pack. I think out of the three of them, Frank is my favorite though. I just love the Swing feel he has.
@atomaton4 I could not help but have mixed feelings about your comment. It's just the fact that you have yourself down as 31 on your profile and say you are 18. Why do that? I understand you appreciate the music, but be yourself as well. There is nothing wrong with people not appreciating this music nowadays. It is what it is. Technology can keep us informed and blind us at the same time. I feel it has done the latter to our generation and the younger one.
@pianist9000 I honestly dont know why it says I am 31 on my profile. I probably put that to be "Cool" when I made the acount. Aside from that possibility, it is an error. I simply feel there was at one point, more art to music than there is today. I know a number of people that wont listen to a song if it doesnt have a club beat in the back made digitally. That is why I feel this music should be more appreciated by people around my age.
@atomaton4 Oh, I see. I can admit to the same kind of errors as well. As a musician, I understand what you're trying to say in a different way. It's not that the music has more or less art. It's really just the chord progressions that make jazz a lot more colorful than club/dance/electronic music. All dance music is usually basic progressions, but it does not mean it has less feeling/art than jazz. It's easier to listen to dance music because you can tell where it's going, unlike some jazz.
@atomaton4 Im 13 and so is my best friend and we both love jazz and swing, and all types of music from this era The reason why? Video games, like L.A Noire, Bioshock 1 and 2, all of the Fallouts, Mafia 1 and 2. More and more games are putting old music in them, soon this entire generation will learn to appreciate this music. Everyone loves jazz, they just have to listen to it... Remember this.
don't want to nitpick - this is a fabulous recording, but i don't think it's the take of the song that was actually released as a record back then. but thank goodness these other versions are available on cd reissues.
I cannot believe people who are known for less than 5-10 years have more views than people like Frank S, Dean M, Ray C, Johnny C who have been known for at least 50+ years. The more views guys like these have, the more it will fill my soul!
@dagger1515 LOL omg i just came to this song, im 19 too and i swear before looking at your comment, I was just thinking why do I like old songs lyk these. coincidence much :P
