Came across your channel by chance. Missed the 2005 world trials so it's nice to see someone has bothered to put a bit of it on youtube and advocating herding with BC's. Our lead dog, Dot was bred by John and is also a superb worker. Some footage on our channel if you want to look. She is irreplacable!

Great to hear from you. The 2005 event was incredibly special. I wish I had taken more video, but I also just wanted to soak it in. I have seen some of your videos, including with Dot. I'm going to have to go back an look again! My own work in border collie rescue is very small-time, but I do test them on sheep, and definitely sort by who will get to herd, and who wants to just be a pet. Bless you for the great work you do. Yes, and they can be just as challenging, but when you've got one that wants to listen, wants to be your partner, it's an un-earthly thrill. The dog in this video, by the way, was a young dog, just being trained and brought along by a world famous handler. It was a thrill to be there. Thanks for your posting. Best wishes with your BC. (Find a good trainer, and take the dog sheep herding - I did, and was instantly hooked on the thrill the dogs get out of it, and the joy of that partnership!)
