@Morzall0055 Depends entirely on the computer's hardware. Generally speaking, yes. Honestly, though, the best way (graphically) to play it is on a PC using a Playstation emulator. Emulators allow for much better hardware acceleration than the original PC version of SR1 did, and it'll look much better that way.
I think Dumah's special ability sucks :P it only helps you to finish the SR1,but in the SR2 and LOK Defiance it is useless... they should do a remake of SR series and legacy of kain as well fixing the graphcis and other things like this, but i'm sure they will not -_-´

He was the toughest boss for me simply because I never imagined that i need to drag him out to some other place. I tried everything. i was so furious when i found out how easy it was, but what the heck I enjoyed every minute of it and quite frankly I never beat the game. Came up to the point of the Fight with Kain and i leaved it there. I don't want to beat it.:)

the thing i dont get though is all vampires evolve at roughly the same rate....but kain looked exactly the same when raziel and co looked human ( bar the cloven feet / hands, ears and in raziels case wings ) now all the others have turned into giant fluffy killing machines and kain seems a little....well, little for someone thats ment to be their king
Ironic how videogames' bosses always or almost always have their own weakness around their own areas. Like a dark version of Super Man having a green piece of kryptonite in the frozen fortress. ( Fortress of Solitude or whatever the name is ).
Or a dark version of Green Lantern having a yellow room somehwere in the area we fight him ( if there was any videogame with him ).

@Joudas With Dreamcast being the best option for playing this game. PC version's ported and has serious problems. Even emulated vrsion on Chankast is good. PC's overrated here. PS1 graphics weren't that good, however effects of Sega Dreamcast were kind of perfect for this game. It left something special in it, similar to uniqueness of the gamespots top rated game called Soul Calibur. perfectly fit on 700MB of data, simply WOW. modern games have no soul like LOK series do. Extreme shame.

I had this game on my dreamcast so many years ago, i would still play it to this day but it broke for some strange readon. it plays those demo packages you used to get in magazines for games coming soon, but it cant play actual games. any one have this problem? if so and you fixed could you tell me what you did
feel free to call me as an idiot but this game is the best game that've ever created by the hands of a mankind for me. I'm 24 and played so many new/old games but none of them had this strong storyline and athmosphere which makes you a total addict. all those gylphs, enemies, conversations, world shifts, mazes... everybody should play this game at least once in their life.
I really don't know for sure if this is my favourite, but there's something charming in this game that the sequels doesn't have... in spite of their tehnologycal improvements... I do believe that the argument in combination with the athmosphere and the highly retoric dialogues can be the key in the mystic of this game.
There's a puzzle that requires you to put boxes next to pipes so that water flows around and through. This will cause a door to open to that room and if you active the blast furnace it opens the doors. Check out neoseekers or gamefaqs for the exact walkthrough.

@Joudas the whole reason for the constrict ability was that the developers hads trouble developing an animation for turning certain objects, so they developed the constrict ability instead. by the timne of soul reaver 2 though, they had overcome that problem, so they got rid of the ability.

I can't believe I played this game and I'm having trouble remembering most of the bosses. It just looks so dull and un-fun. The dialogue isn't helping any.
I agree with the consensus that Dumah is the coolest brother. And yes, he gives you the lamest power. A shockwave/groundstomp would've been cool, but most of Raziel's other abilities are about overcoming environmental hazards.
Also, this video reminded me of how awesome Raziel's throwing abilities are. Gravity is SOO overrated. ;)
Why did it take people so long to figure out how to kill him?
It's been a while since I played SR1, but when you use the furnace for the first time, doesn't Raziel say something that implies it will be useful later on?
God i remember fighting Dumah, you know those giant statues at the beginning of the scene? I was scared witless so i climbed up those statues because i knew Dumah would not be able too, then i fired those shots at him, which did nothing but give me a great view of Dumah from above. Took me ages to figure out how to kill him properly, and i mean maybe an hour maybe more?
I agree dumah is stronger then turel because dumah was a armoured titan the only fire can scorcthed him and he had to be lure to the furnace that was hard and personally I like dumah better then turel.
Turel was rather weak. Not in physical strength but he was very soft skinned and vulnerable. The soul reaver and Raziel's attacks in general easily hurt Turel.
Absolutely nothing Raziel could do could hurt Dumah. He would laugh off of all the glyph magic and any soul reaver attacks.
Your right... Dumah is way stronger than turel... I cant believe that the ability you got from dumah sucked so bad though... I mean come on! He was the last of the brothers to kill!!.. I was expecting something alot better.
Well you gathered information wrong. I know that Turel is in defiance... he had a decent power up though! If I recall correctly when Raziel kills him and he gets a TK upgrade which he can use to now pick up and throw enemies at will?

The "constrict" ability - lets Raziel run in circles around an object or enemy to manipulate them - rotate a dial, for example. Mostly useless except to get through areas that require it.
I get to the part where you pull the lever and when I do nothing happens. He is definitely in the middle. Do I need to catch him running or is it a glitch in my Dreamcast game.
Dude... BO2 is after BO. Blood Omen 2 is the time were Kain gains the Soul Reaver... Not to mention when he still looks mostly human... How the **** would he go from looking like a demon to looking human, then back?

Not many people know this, but Dumah has dialouge in the Spectral Realm if you talk to him there before reviving him.

And, you can try to fight him in the Spectral Realm, but it will do you no good. He's invincible in Spectral.

I agree with the consensus that Dumah is the coolest brother. And yes, he gives you the lamest power. A shockwave/groundstomp would've been cool, but most of Raziel's other abilities are about overcoming environmental hazards.
Also, this video reminded me of how awesome Raziel's throwing abilities are. Gravity is SOO overrated. ;)

It's been a while since I played SR1, but when you use the furnace for the first time, doesn't Raziel say something that implies it will be useful later on?

God i remember fighting Dumah, you know those giant statues at the beginning of the scene? I was scared witless so i climbed up those statues because i knew Dumah would not be able too, then i fired those shots at him, which did nothing but give me a great view of Dumah from above. Took me ages to figure out how to kill him properly, and i mean maybe an hour maybe more?

I agree dumah is stronger then turel because dumah was a armoured titan the only fire can scorcthed him and he had to be lure to the furnace that was hard and personally I like dumah better then turel.

MEMORIES!!! this game really was able to scare the crap out of a 12 year old! and I was that 12 year old...great shit back in 2000.

Turel was rather weak. Not in physical strength but he was very soft skinned and vulnerable. The soul reaver and Raziel's attacks in general easily hurt Turel.
Absolutely nothing Raziel could do could hurt Dumah. He would laugh off of all the glyph magic and any soul reaver attacks.

Well you gathered information wrong. I know that Turel is in defiance... he had a decent power up though! If I recall correctly when Raziel kills him and he gets a TK upgrade which he can use to now pick up and throw enemies at will?

The "constrict" ability - lets Raziel run in circles around an object or enemy to manipulate them - rotate a dial, for example. Mostly useless except to get through areas that require it.

Dude... BO2 is after BO. Blood Omen 2 is the time were Kain gains the Soul Reaver... Not to mention when he still looks mostly human... How the **** would he go from looking like a demon to looking human, then back?
