The Cardinal looks to me like a scaled down version of the Lake Shore Limited or Silver Star.

The Cardinal is basicly another Lake Shore Limited...but it starts at D.C and the Lake Shore Starts at NY Penn.

@Trainlover4ever2006 The Cardinal runs NYP-CHI. That's why it uses single level equipment. It has nothing in common with the Lake Shore, other than the endpoints, and some of the same equipment. They are very different trains.

Love the pvt cars, especially that L&N blue one!! Those cars looked empty and/or dark, must have been taking them back 'home'!! Great how the freight passed right there at the station too!! Great shots!!

Thank you very much! I think both cars were occupied. At least the L&N car was. I took a picture of it while the train was stopped, and this lady inside was giving me a crazy look! Probably thought I was a terrorist!
