1998 GasGas Trials Motorcycle - Cold Start - AC-DC

Is there other trials bikes besides GasGas? I'm looking into getting one and I know a lot about them, just not the brands and all i can find is GasGas..

i spend like 5 minutes trying to start my gasgas 300 when it is cold. when its warm it starts up first kick tho.

@foamblock I can well believe it if its anything like this one of mine :-)) Mine is exactly the same when its warmed up, no problem, just when its stone cold and after a very long period of not being used.

I've got a 2000 TXT280. I haven't rode it in several months due to a slipping kickstart mechanism, I finally tore it down today to find out what was wrong, and managed to damage a clutch plate in the process, so now I need a clutch too.

I broke my gas gas about 2 weeks ago. It started as the fan wasnt working and now ive striped all the fan and wires out i still dont know whats wrong with it and ive already tested the wires and fan and all is working fine but when i put all the bike back togeather it doesnt work :S :(

Im no expert, but have you looked into the "Sender Unit"

This would be the part that detects the water temp and would then send a signal to switch the fan on......?? It's just a thought.

Ive fixed it now Lol with alot of help from mates and there mates :) thanks to everyone who helped fixed it :D it was just a case of fualty wires and stuff so had to rewire it, only after we brought a new fan, pipes, cdi unit and then new wires Lol turned out to be very expensive :) thank you very much for your help :) thanks

That it started on 4 low power kicks is pretty good, cus it takes a special tecnique to start these high comp. bikes

Thanks, as you can see I dont quite have the knack. If the kick start is in too much of a 12 Oclock position, its very difficult to get it to kick over...
