What bothers me the most about Irshad Manji is that she tries to conform everyone to her choices. As a Muslim woman who chooses to wear hijab, I do not appreciate that she refers to it as an act of "blind faith." Also annoying is her arrogance in thinking she's the only one in the world who understands Islam and everyone must practice it the way she 'does.' I respect her right to her opinion and free speech but she needs to learn how respect our right to choose the way to practice our religion.
well at least you have the right to choose to wear it or not, in many muslim countries due to family tradition or even state law women must wear those "decent" clothes because the reality is(in my opinion that most muslim men cant even control there sexual desiers).
and Irshad Manji dosnt want you to be a muslim in her own way because she emphesizes IJTIHAD in which the person has the freedom to inturpet the Quran the way they see fit. Which is perfect because they dont have to adhere to the ignorent Imams that only studied the Quran and Hadith and inturpet for there "people"(if you dont wana call them sheep) how to live there lives without looking at othere sciences because they are obsolete to them.
