  • If ya can

  • Who can finish the rubiks cube in at least 2 min thumbs up

  • yes it was good but the level that we have 2 piece on top does'nt work with these algorithms

if i'm incorrect plz someone help me

i can do it on 1 minute and 15

but i want better plz help me

  • @parsapouya The "algorithms" I have laid out are really only 3 of the many possible cases. What you need to do is set up the corner and the edge to perform one of those "algorithms" and put them both in place.

I'd like to stress that this video is meant to teach you to do it intuitively. Rather than showing you every possible case, I show you how to learn to watch where your corner and edges are at, and put them in place on your own, with no needed memorization.

    Hope that helps :)

  • Thank you! This is really simple actually. I know all F2L cases now, and I know how to solve the first two layers. I just need to wait for my new and better cube to get shipped, so I can improve my times.

Meanwhile I can learn some OLL's and PLL's.

  • THYANK YOU SO MUCH I LOVE YOU THIS IS THE ONLY VIDEO I CAN UNDERSTAND

  • thanks! This really helps!

  • what are pll's?

  • For any of you having trouble: This is a FANTASTIC video to get you started, don't downrate it because it doesn't come to you immediately. When I first watched this video three years ago, it gave me the basic framework I needed to learn F2L. Write down each case and the pattern identifiers if you have to and sit down with your cube for 30 minutes and work it out step by step. You will see that it really only comes down to three basic patterns. Thanks fallofshadows!

  • @person1227 You're welcome, and thank you for taking the time to understand how to do F2L using actual conscious thought, rather than simply memorizing algs. I'm glad to see it's making sense to some people : )

  • lol this makes no sence to me O_o

  • Very useful. Simply and concisely explained with none of the algorithm crap.

Also nice and short, none of these 10minute ones.

    *thumbs up* 5/5

  • I understand everything except sometimes when I have both colors on top and i do what you say it still doesnt come out right and I try everything but it doesn't work :/.

  • i like your speed cube i have a crappy toys r us cube

  • THANKYOUUUU this is the best explanation ive seen i didnt understand any of the others because they were anoying little boys that didnt know what the shit they were talking about, this really helps it is simple clear and easily understandable. 5/5

  • this 1 sucks i dont get it

  • This has to be the most useful Fridrich Method tutorial on Youtube, I'm serious. People may prefer different ways of explaining, but this one is definitely the best for me. Thanks a lot.

    5/5

  • I agree! I've seen a couple of explanations of the Fridrich Method now and this is definitely the most simple and clear!

  • amazing :P

  • oops sorry :( i accidently rated it as poor, but i actuall ythink this is escellent and really helped :) soz again

    thanks

  • awesome tutorial i know how to finish it

  • great tutorial...tnx

  • wat do x,y, and z mean? tell me!!!! plz

  • I'm pretty sure it means you turn the cube in your hands so that a new face becomes the front, side, bottom, top, etc. depending on if you turn it x, y, or z

  • how old is ur cube man u need a new one

  • No he just need restickering

  • Cool vid, love the black/white faces.

  • VERY GOOD TURTORIAL!!! THANKS MAN

  • nice old cube!

  • wait so hes solving the first and second layer at the same time, or is he solving for the first layer then the second layer

  • First and second layer at the second time, that's why it's called F2L (First 2 Layers).

  • that was a good video, but there are some situations you didnt explain. but other than that, good. you need to post one on the rest of it!

  • If you understand the cases that he covered, then the rest of it is just common sense.

  • Nice Vid on the Fridrich method

  • Finaly a good and well and SHORT explained frdrich method. THANK YOU !!!

  • wait, so basically the jessica fridrich method is the keyhole method,, except theres more than 1 hole?

  • confused

  • onyl video of this method that actually shows it slow. EVERY and i mean EVERY other video the guys show off and go super fast and go "oh there you go thats how you do it, I know you probably had no idea what i just did, but now you know that i can move this cube extremely fast", so ya cool and good vid

  • Look... You're still doing algorithms, but you're interpreting them as "now put the corner above the correct slot, and then movie it down". It's still an algorithm that you're doing, but you're not calling it an algorithm.

  • this tutorial seems 2 make a lot of sense to a lot of people....

but this guys terminology confuses me to hell!!

    idk... maybe im just dumb....

so all u guys who like this... use it... but im taking me and my cube elsewhere XD

  • awesome tutorial. well explained, but it doesnt take 30 minutes to explain

  • FallOfShadows may i Ask how many years you've been trying to solve/Or solving the rubiks cube?:D

  • heheeee finally someone that explains it simple and easy, thanks alot

  • really nice vid. really accurate. btw where'd u get ur cube?

  • MEGA NICE.

  • haha it's amazing how i watched a 10 minute video earlier on and it took me forever toooo solve it trying to use his method and with your three steps and 2 min video i was able to understand 10x better and solve it 10x faster XD

  • YOU ARE A HERO!! Every other video i lost focus because they go on and on about stupid irrelavent crap THANKS!

  • average was about 1:15 just using a basic LBL method and not knowing any OLL's or PLL's . ive been wanting to learn how to do fridrich's F2L but just haven't been able to really grasp it. this videomade me understand it and at least now i can build off of that and hopefully learn how to do F2L correctly...maybe i'll finally learn some PLL's too =p thanks a bunch man

  • No problem. And remember, Fridrich F2L is gonna be slower at first. It used to take me 5 minutes to do the cube when I was learning this method. But soon after that, with a bit of practice, you'll have your times down.

  • Thank you alot! You finally made me understand F2L part of the Fridrich Method, extremly well explained! Once again thank you :)

  • That makes way more sence, and is much simpler than many other vids. Great job!

  • Can u tell me wut website or video did u know that thing?

  • I found the website a long time ago, and I don't remember how to get to it.

  • hi wad is the website did you learn coz i'm finding it

  • Did you lube your cube? If so, where did you get the lube and what kind is it? I don't know which lube to get. Nice vid.

  • I did lube it, and I use silicon spray that can be found at wal-mart or almost any hardware store.

  • SiliCONE not siliCON

  • ...Spelling nazi

  • Great Video!

  • Dude thanks so much for this video. Yours was simple and very clear. Again Thanks! Now i need to get fast at it, he he.

  • cool cube!

  • where did u get that dope rubiks cube?

  • Ebay.

  • what stickers do you have they arent peeling off mine are =/

  • Cubesmith

  • Prob tiles

  • Stickers.

  • Nice video, you told med everything i needed to know to get started with my F2L. I hate to learn a bunch of algs, so this was perfect for me.

  • Good video

You talk nicely so it's easy to understand

  • your grammar fuck

  • there could be algorithms for that...

  • Or you could learn it on your own.

  • ZOMG!! that helped me soooooo much man. hey if you know the roux method could you please make a tutorial for me? all the other ones are weird and i cant understand them. =D

  • Sorry, but I'm horrible at Roux, lol.

  • Great Video + nicely explained + Good Tactic

    =

    Succsess! <3

  • that is so fake

  • Care to explain why?

  • sorry my sister wrote that while i was at basketball practice we share the same file

  • Ha, I hate it when that happens. I aways leave comments on my bro's account by accident, lol.

  • fallofshadows, I am having a lot of troubles with this, and your video is the best I've seen so far. When I follow this video, White always ends up being there when I match them up... any idea what I'm talking about, and if so, link me to a couple helpful sites that taught you to do the F2L Fridrich method... thanks

  • I'm not following what you're saying, could you be a bit more clear?

  • I never thanked you! i watced this video like 5 months ago! I do the F2L without algorithms... It might help to learn some for more advanced cases! Guys it's difficult to follow this video at first, but when you get it, it's reaaly simple! Watch it again and again! Have fun :)

  • Ihatederick123, sorry I removed your comment. Youtube decided it would be fun to put a "remove" button in the comments area, and I clicked the first thing with an R that I saw.

  • how to do people figure this out

  • Pure intuition.

  • Internet.

  • its really hard to follow

    slow down

  • tru

  • Upper front right and upper back.

  • u explain the 2nd one if the whit is on the left, what if its on the right?

  • Do the mirror of the moves for when it's on the left.

  • thank you very much. your video helped out a lot!

  • After you do the F2L that's it? YOu can just go about solving the last layers however you want? Is there more to it?

  • You can solve it any way you want, but the fastest way seems to be OLL/PLL. You can search that on google to find the algs.

  • I already knew how to do the F2L intuitively. But your video explains just as well within 2:20 as the video I watched which was around 10 minutes. Maybe it's only as effective because I know how to already do it, but still nice video.

  • i have no idea wht u are talking about i can solve the cube but i dont understand wht u mean

  • Watch the video some more, try to understand each individual part. If you have any more trouble, PM me with your specific problem and I'll see if I can help you.

Make sure you also have a good understanding of the cube. If it takes you over 2 minutes to solve it, there's a good chance F2L methods are too advanced for you.

  • thanks for the reply im slowly picking it up i can solve the rubiks cube in about 1:05 but im so used to layer by layer i guess im jus gonna have to try and adapt but i am learning thanks

  • thank you so much for making this vid

  • What do you mean by setting them on opposite sides of the cube?

  • Like a corner going in UFR and an edge in UB.

  • opposite sides of the up face.

  • uhm...can u give me algorithms about that... this F2L makes shortcuts sometimes..

  • F2L makes shortcuts all the time.

  • You make no sence at all!!

  • I dont understand =(

  • i cannot understand you..

  • f2l metohd is good but it takes a lot of time and practices to memorize it..and it may ashame you if you solve it in front of people b'coz if u mistake a one move its hard to bring back again unlike dan browns method...

  • Because Dan Brown teaches a layer by layer solution, which in the end is slow and useless. By the way, once you get better with F2L, you won't make a mistake. And even if you do, it's super easy to fix them.

  • It's still uglyer than the brand cubes

  • im stiken 2 pogobats way cuz i allreayd remeber the algorythems

  • Haha, so many errors :s

  • ah ok, but to improve on speed this is the way to go imo

  • this whole f2l thing is way overrated, im stickin to my layers method from good ol dan brown till i find a different method that really is different.

  • Check out the Petrus method then, it's pretty different.

Btw, the method you are using now won't get you sub 20 times. Fridrich can get you sub 10.

  • thats one ugly noobcube

  • you're an idiot, those are better cubes

  • lol indigoshampo your retarded thats a DIY cube it's ment for speedcubing haha you're obviously the noob

  • AAHH WHAT R U DOING?!

  • lame!

  • im too dumb for this lol..ima stick to guitar hehe

  • what do u do if u find a white sticker at the top corner and u look at the corresponding thingie, and its yellow?

ive spend 2 nights trying to figure out this and i dont understand it

  • White will never be with yellow, because they are opposites. At least on my cube they are.

  • you r da best teacher!

  • what does corresponding fucking mean?

  • lol look in a dictionary.

  • it like goes with or matching

  • it like goes with or matching

  • Alright, this video did help me, I'm getting a lot closer, but I consistently have trouble on the last pair, mostly when they are paired up but oriented correctly. I break the pair but then can't pair them up with out breaking the f2l sometimes. It's frustrating.

  • Make sure you don't do any turns that put your previous F2L slots into the U layer. As long as you don't break old slots, you'll be fine.

My second video covers this a little better than this one does.

  • The video is good but for every technique i had to rewind it 5 or 6 times. but at the end, i learned it :D thanks

  • ...lol your a retard. kthnxs.

  • And you're a fucking moron. Go fuck yourself.

  • Erm...that last comment was directed towards Cassibo not FoS.

  • Ich liebe dich auch.

  • ya you are really bad at explaining stuff just so you know

  • that's why this video has 159 favs? Maybe you're just too dumb to understand how to do things intuitively. In that case:

    Go to google

    Search "F2L algorithms, rubik's cube."

    Click the first link.

    Hope that helps.

  • you have explained it very well to the point where i can kinda understand it!

  • it took me a while to figure it out, but i got it

  • where do u get that cube wit the white ones

  • Ebay.

  • this video actually really helped me. thanks

  • your cube is confusing at first

  • can you pls send me some copies of f2l pattern.. plzz

  • No, this is so you can learn it intuitively, which means you should figure it out on your own.

  • umm, where did you get that one?

  • i was practicing al night and i think i get it your video was the most helpful i think , thanks dude

  • Lol, I'm glad it started making sense for you =)

  • i took 2 or 3 sec to find the pair/correspondent color(middle layer), any tipsfor that? Thanks

  • slow down and look ahead.

  • this...is .... confusing...i can solve a rubiks cube in a minute but i just REAALLLY dont get this could you please please help me ...thanks

  • What do you need help with? If you want more help, you're going to have to be more specific.

  • what if there is no matchin edges? plz explain

  • did he just paint his cube. the stickers on the rubix brands suck. good idea

  • This is a white DIY cube with stickers that I had.

  • hi where can u buy this rubik's cube in singapore?

  • The internet.

  • YOU CAN JUST WATCH BOLD MOVIES!!!

  • i can do the beginner method but i really dont get this method.. can anyone give me some tips to getting my 2 min 30 sec solve down to around 1 min or so?

  • personally i think learning algs would be a lot faster coz if u do intuitive u have to fink about every step whereas in algs u just perform them from memory.

  • But when you learn it intuitively you know the algs better because you found them yourself, and you can perform them from any angle.

  • but if u wanna get faster at fridrich, how long does it take to learn all the algs including oll and pll?

  • That depends on how fast you are at memorizing. It took me 2 weeks to learn PLL, but I never learned full OLL.

  • okay...that was fast... nt easy to absorb

  • It is not a really bad video. It is really hard to explain the entire Fridrich method in 2:20. If you do another video. You should take longer to explain the method. "A" for effort though.

  • Check my youtube channel, I did do another video =)

  • That is really freakin complicated. and i dont know if ime just retarded but its missing alot. I always end up with my white in a different place or something.

  • Slow down with what you're doing, and look to see what pieces you are moving around. If you are breaking apart your cross, then you are doing the wrong moves.

  • where do u get the white cube???

  • ebay.

  • thanks i find your video extremely hepful!

  • thanks dude

    btw: love your cube
