  • I think it would be a VERY Sensitive person who could tell the difference between concrete & wooden ties by riding on a train...

    Not saying it Couldn't Happen....

  • The Miami station looks exactly like the Minneapolis-Saint Paul Midway Station, inside and out!

  • Is that person blowing a hand held whistle there as they back up? Interesting.

  • I would think that wood ties would be softer than concrete. Seems like concrete would give a jarring ride. No? In our area they have wood ties but the rails are huge....very tall compared to what I'm used to seeing as a kid. Now days the rails are huge. Very tall.

  • I used to railfan the A-line in Tampa between TUS, Neve wye, and Uceta Yard. back in the late 70s-early 80s during the Seaboard Coast Line Railroad days when it was double tracked, the TNN tower was still manned, and we had six trains a day calling at the station. A bit saddening now to see it single tracked with weeds growing and rather sparse activity at TUS. But at least we still have passenger service.

  • I have been on this train many times :) I love the trip to Miami from Tampa ! Now this makes me ready to book a trip :) I never want to come back, though !!!
