@ubanare Basically, yes. Except on top of side to side puck movement there are various body/stick fakes that players do to throw off the opposition, not to mention spins and drags (and other fancy stick-work like going through the legs). Dangling is a combination of any of the above.
him not winning the cup. It was always the biggest question mark in an otherwise stellar career. As soon as he won, he went right into being talked about as the second best defenceman to play the game. hands down, no questions asked. And after 22 years, and all of his accomplishments, it took the CUP to earn his rightful place. I don't think there is much argument there. It's pretty cut and dry. I am not being hostile, I just hate how people have crowned him the best ever when he isnt even close
give me a quote where i said that Ovechkins the best. I have to admit that i am somewhat biased, considering he is my favorite player.
as for the cup, there is no doubt that the cup contributes to someones fame as a hockey player, but it isn't the only thing that does it. And how is using Henri Richard a bad example?
actually yea thats exactly what i am saying....semin is good, but absolutely no where near a star player....and he doesn't play on a line with ovechkin, only on the powerplay. mike green on the other hand is one of the best offensive defenceman in the league, but also he doesnt play next to ovechkin. no stud centerman or right winger is going to come and take less money to play with him because he is a selfish piece of shit. he will never win a cup. mark my words. i guarantee it. pens own him
how many cups does he have??? how many times has he led his team in the playoffs?? thats what i thought. its pretty easy to dominate the regular season when you are playing against the like of the tampa bay lighting, the atlanta thrashers and the florida panthers 20 plus times a season. i would love to see ovi try to play a 82 game season in the atlantic division. he would get wrecked. thats why if u check his stats, he is garbage against the pens, rangers, flyers, and devils, he gets owned.
ridicules?? i'm not sure how saying winning the cup in making fun of someone? i think you mean ridiculous. anyways idiotic spelling and grammar aside, when is the last time you have heard about how many hart trophies wayne gretzky has won?? exactly. i guarantee you everybody could tell you he won 4 stanley cups. how bout lemieux? you think anyone knows how many times lemieux won the art ross?? no, but anybody can tell you he won 2 stanley cups.
i can demolish your entire theory, and the base for you theory with 2 statistics.
Darren McCarty Has the same amount as stanley cups as Wayne Gretzki (cannot spell his name), does that mean automatically that he is as good as the great one? what about Henri Richard, winniner of the cup a record 10 times, is he then over twice as good as gretzki?
ask any pro athlete, and they will tell you, when it's all said and done the only thing you are remembered for is championships. check out the unanimous top 5 players of all major sports. all of them have won championships. all of them. you can't even be considered an all time great until you win championships. if you dont want to believe that, than you are retarded.
i can agree with that, no problem. The problem is that you say that winning championships will make you remembered. i will use the henri richard example again. he won over twice as many times as the great one, and he's barely known in comparisson.
no, you obviously didn't understand my point. In no way did I state that simply winning the cup puts you in the consideration. For you to use Henri Richard as an example is just stupid. It shows you just can't grasp what I am saying. I can give you a perfect recent example..Ray Bourque. Without a doubt one of the best defensive players ever. But up until he won the cup, all people did was try to find reasons of why he isn't in consideration for an all time great, and it all came back to........
even ovechkin has said he doesn't care about the individual awards and accolades. he has said the only trophy that matters is the cup. and its widely regarded that the most prestigious individual award is the conn symthe. to win that, you would have to win the greatest prize(the cup) and be the best player in the hardest postseason in all of sport. and well those are 2 ovechkin doesnt have and it doesnt seem like he will be seeing of those anytime soon, so until than you cant call him the best
i never said he was the best, but he's without a doubt a name to remember. please dont be hostile, im just stating facts, and yes i know i suck at spelling.
So what is a deke/dangle? Is it where he moves the puck from side to side to throw off the goalie's/defender's balance?
(I'm Aussie, we hardly have any ice hockey over here.)
