Although I have been listening to this for many years, I still cannot stop liking it. Its primal yet epic guitar riffs and keyboard themes make this a masterpiece. Unfortunately, the band has slowly shifted away from this kind of music (still being a great band though).

Amon armarth doesn't got shit on Moonsorrow. These guys are true folk/viking metal, and one of the best bands of the genre around. This, to me is the true ideal of viking metal, its about cultural pride and heritage (not about hatred like those nazis that come out of the woodwork to claim, the Nazis STOLE viking imagery and associated it with their crimes) not swilling beer. Quorthon would be proud of these guys.

yes i agree. theyre actually a very good band. but i dont think theyre the best band in melodic death metal/viking metal like alot of folks say. to be the best in my opinion you have to have some CLASSIC material, and alot of it! the only three songs i can think of by amon that are worthy of being classic are thousand years of oppression, beheading of a king, and under a nothern star
