Even assuming that saints are necessarily good, perhaps her canonization was a mistake. Maybe she went to the cave under false pretenses or she went earnestly but turned later. Whatever her motivation may have been, it's possible that she was sainted for what the church thought of her as opposed to what she really was. That way, a "saint" could become a murderous demon-thing and still be called a saint because of little more than a religious misnomer. It's not logically inconsistent.
