@LauxHawk Any surround sound unit changes the sound over at some point. I can't think of the right term, but the console in a system, or the soundcard or driver on a pc does all the work. In the case of youtube my G35 headset software turns the 2 channels into 7.1 before it gets to the speakers. A traditional Home theatre receives 2 channels from a dvd/bluray watever and the console does all the work converting that into a 5.1 or 7.1 surround system going to all the speakers.

@LauxHawk well i mean just in case you don't believe, the easiest thing to look at is the fact that like i said, a bluray or dvd player plugs into a surround sound unit with the red and white composite lines. 2 lines total. the console does all the work. Heard of Dolby Digital?? Thats a compression/software that allows for surround sound to be sent through just 2 lines and then be processed into 5.1 or more..in laymans terms anyway.

@facux100pre It's just a generic orchestra tuning itself up before the performance. All the violins and other instruments playing their open strings and base notes to tune. Does indeed sound awesome. As someone who has heard many orchestral performances and been in a good deal, it's a wonderful sound.
