  • so crazy to see those same spots these days, some day i'll travel there...not too far

  • Comment removed

  • i went to 2 of these schools

  • thats so sad, kenter canyon school is ruined :(

  • 1970s Dogtown is a Win in my book

  • is zack elefenakis narrating

  • I'm pissed that the ball has been dropped once again. That the only reason that it was picked up so damn late in year 2000 was because the economy died then so that it's permanently hopeless to be a worker in America. And thus after a 10 trillion deficit and total hopelessness people are to be asking wtf did the government do for me besides make it worse? You got a FEW good skateparks far away from your town. Thus more hype for you the majority & Japan rules. That's what you got, a lot of hype

  • audio disabled my ASS

  • so im guessing sid is based on baby paul

  • NOPE baby paul died last year!!! Sid was based on a guy named DINO that lived and skate with the z-boys but he died of brain cancer, in fact the last bowl session was at his backyard pool!! (the dogbowl)

  • R.I.P Baby Paul

  • gr8 film...bummer about the sound...!!!!!

  • Looks interesting. Sorry the nazi's cut your sound.

  • Its weird I can here the audio just fine but I cant see the video it just a black screen

  • By practicing your right to copyright and thus ridding me of audio in this interesting video WMG has definitely lost a customer. You think your helping yourself but you are actually doing the opposite. We people buy and we can not buy.

  • did'm all back in da day plus toilet bowl and the velodrome in the valley plus my pool till mom freaked. now it's 20 min 35mph downhills in the mtns

  • you should put this on google or dailymotion so we can hear the audio

  • I want to hear the audio, looks cool!

  • im glad you found all the old schools they used to skate at, im plan to go and visit all of them and skate as much as i can..pissed tho that they put those barriers

  • whats the songplaying at 1.40

  • Dude sick. 5/5 + Favorited!

  • one single native-american tear....

  • Fucking sound wont work

  • Yeah, Youtube turned it off!!!!

  • mad lame

  • its a shame what youtube is doing.

this is what watching these kind of clips where all about.. good music chosen by the people who made these vids..

  • @jerrysch

    assholes.

  • Being an adult, I can see why the schools blocked off these sections on their property due to liability conerns of people getting injured.

However, me being a product of the 80's skate scene, I can also see the skaters side of wanting to skate obstacles that are aggressive & challenging. I say ride at your own risk, and dont blame others, or try to file a lawsuit ,if you get injured on someone elses property... No matter how serious the injury.

  • yeah we need more banks...the one i know are actually part of the wash but thats it...and there patches of grass so get ready to eat it..

  • Jay Adams rulz!

  • I grew up near all these spots right by bicknell hill especially.

  • bellagio looks like crap

  • that was a cool as hell then and now video,i always like to see what places look like now compared to way back,my grade school yard still has all the same monkey bars and basketball courts, too bad we didnt sk8 there,no banks at all,i found all my old sk8s i had 30 yrs ago on ebay, cool as hell to get the same boards again, old skl sk8rs never die we just feel more pain!! sk8r 4 life

  • hadn't it been cooler if it were, "we just feel LESS pain!" :D

  • i just wached this on my psp (UMD)

  • love that history I road an alva board in the late 70's and early 80's and loved it and always were looking for these same things to ride ....thanks for the real look ....at calf. anyway

  • nice shoes

  • haha PR i used to skate that haha

  • are these spots still there?

  • These places have been destroyed

    They are historical landmarks

But Governments couldn't give a fuck about skating

If they were something to do with football or another 'real' sport they would protected by the government

  • the government tottally sux ya mutha fucker

  • Kinda cool..... Right on brah!

  • respect

  • is that place actually called dogtown or is that just a nickname

  • It's a nickname given to the area. It's where Santa Monica & Venice come together.

  • ok but if u type in dogtown in google earth it goes there lol do it must be a veeerry well nown nickname

  • yeah very well known, its where legends were made man, god dam great skaters

  • @jerrysch Venice is Dogtown, Santa Monica is the area Venice is near Santa Monica and thats just about it.

  • da goverments always ruining shit

  • werd

and yeah skateboarding is one of the biggest sports in the world right now

  • Brilliant video!

nice to see someone takes interest!

    excellent 5 starzzzzzz

  • i know eh ( im canadian)

  • these places shouldnt be ruined by land scaping they are historical land marks

  • yup but some people really dont give a shit about skateboarding

  • man, these dicks have ruined some of the most historical spots in skating history! the accual Z-boys skated there, and they ruined it!

  • thatnx for posting this bro i really like the vid 5 stars from me

  • i lover paul revere iwas skating there couple of weeks ago i love it, its so fucking fun

  • whene my mom waz 16...she skated in the type of dogtown locals...bhe did crazy manuals...360s and even burntslideing...she was awsume...she still got is...she allways takes my skatebord and did old sk8 moves

  • Is there still some of those dogtown style boards to buy ?

  • i have one from the early 80's, it is similar but wider, with a surf feel, and rubber wheels, and a small curve at the end of the board. thats the closest i could find to an original.

  • some of the old late 70s dogtown boards had a small curve at the end.

I would really like to have a board like that

  • the boards with the small curve at the end were known as "warp-tail" boards and Stacy Peralta's warp-tail model was one of the most sold skateboards at the time.

  • ya ther is

  • yeh there quite commen

  • ur a fucking fagget kenter is fine to skate. fuck u ur a fucking poser and a joke. eat a dick

  • sweeeeet i wanna go there!!! i wanna sakte it like a wave

  • crap the orriginal zephyr store

  • Nice vid.

  • I went to Paul Revere the year it got repaved best skating around. But not mainly because of the asphalt waves mostly because of the stairways especially near the eating areas.

  • last year i had to go with my parents to visit my crackhead uncle and i hadn't ever heard about paul revere before, i just found it when i was wandering around so i skated on it like constantly when i was there. its really awesome.

  • lords of dogtown best movie ever

  • god damn i HAVE to skate those spots,

  • hahaha paul revere is the KING of all those schools.

we have the most banks, and the tallest ones.

oh and last summer they made this new quad with like a billion benches and sum skaters broke in and grinded all of them, so they put stupid skate barriers on everything

  • Thanks man, I was wondering if any of these spots were still skateable.

  • what'sthe song at 3:46 i remember it from somewhere in my childhood

  • It's called Surf Rider and it's by Dick Dale & the Del-Tones.

  • @khsdrummerboy06 there is no sound and/or letters in 3:46!

  • Man, i went to Kenter and Paul Revere for elementary and middle school. good times man

  • those fucking ass holes

  • I take it you mean the people who try to skateproof the spots?

  • what size boards did they use? and what kind of boards did they use?

  • Most of the boards back then were smaller than the ones we use today, but longboards were still used on occasion. Popular commercial boards were Nash, Streamline, SIMS, etc.

  • thanx, that helps..

  • take a look at "skate en bella vista" "skate en bella vista 2"

  • The patron saints of elementary school vandals everywhere.

  • ok, im in love with dogtown and the z boys, ever since i sw the movie lords of dogtown i started skating ever since. but anyways im goin to cali this summer and im goin to all of those spots, but what thy shood do is make a bik park with sum waves and hills like that to remember the z boys so everybody can come to it and sk8 it.

  • That would be sick!

  • pretty cool to see what it looks now and then

  • Just went to these schools and Horizons West and Bicknell hill on a bit of a pilgrimage. Pretty cool. Traveled about 2,000 miles to see it.

  • this was a very interesting watch! seemed like a look back in time

  • these new concave board's cant make the same smooth turn's as the old surfstyleboard's or maintain the speed... there no go on hill's for trick's and ramp's there perfect.

  • take a look at the humu or the flexdex boards, no concave, theyre rockers. very vintage feel.

  • and now i go to paul revere woo hoo! i love tha schoool

  • omg, come on who cares it's a SCHOOL not a skate park. and plus, thats like the most awesome school ever. i miss it

  • lol i went to kenter... then paul revere which im in now

  • me 2!

  • the video is so cool

  • hay man whered you get those sick picks of baby paul on the banks??

  • just looking around on the internet
