They didn't murder her. They had no idea that she was in the house. Yes, they lied. Yes they were absolutely 100% wrong in how they handled it after the fact. They did not intend on killing her. They thought the house belonged to a drug dealer and had an informant lie about buying drugs there. Her death was an accident, but it was completely their fautl.

It turns out, there were never drugs in the house, near the house, or in the yard. Officer Junnier and other officers have pled to criminal charges due to their gross abuse of their power. She had a gun b/c she'd been robbed before. The officers actually shot one another--the forensic evidence showed that friendly fire caused their injuries. Police sometimes go where no crime has been committed. Sometimes, people who obey the law are not left alone.

The blame lies with whoever incorrectly identified her house, and those people (Some bound to be police officers.) whose job it was to verify the intelligence. There are many checks and balances to ensure that this sort of thing doesn't happen. Something went very wrong or some one cut corners and an innocent member of the public payed with there life.

The police officers executing the search warrant are not to blame. The little old lady trying to defend her life is not to blame (If it had been a home invasion and she had driven off the invaders, people including the police would be congratulating her on a job well done.).

So you have Police expecting drug dealers and an old lady believing she is about to be raped, robed and killed. In such circumstances both sides were justified in employing lethal force. It just so happens that the police were better armed and trained than the little old lady, so she was the one leaving in a body bag.

However the search warrant was a No Knock warrant. The police kicked down the door without warning, the innocent old lady that lived there would have been perfectly justified in thinking she was the victim of a home invasion.

The bottom line to this story is that the cops were doing what they were told to do and she shot at them while doing it. Those cops didnt go towork that morning thinking.." I'm gonna go shoot that old black lady today". Whoever was in charge and told them to enter the house is at fault ..not the cops that actually went in...a very sad situation for all involved.

When the smoke cleared, it's quite obvious who's in the wrong here.
