What you did for this lady was really nice. However, if you all banned this Wal-mart she and the other guy might have steady jobs. It cannot be understated how destructive that business has been and 20 years of their hegemony has created this mess more than anything. For every Wal-mart that opens, on average 100 small businesses close, and for every job created there, 1.5 outside disappear. Boycott it and mean it.

A very good report jsnip4! Thank you. I got rid of all my credit cards in 08'. Now looking into LETS (local exchange trading systems). I would very much like to a get a local currency established where I am but I just don't think there will be enough interest from others to get it off the ground.

I was a victim of the credit score issue on more than one occasion, I was laid off for a year and just started back with the company that laid me off the co. Sam's Club now who came to who for my re-hire they came to me so i lucked up.

Whats funny is if they end up hiring someone with a great credit score... that employee could default on all their cards the next day after they are hired and it won't matter anymore. What a bunch of Bull.

It is discrimination and it is to stop minorities from getting real jobs like in the white collar field. They know damn well that minorities have difficulty keeping their credit score up there. I ain't sure on which laws these companies can't break or can break on credit check. All I know is that it is illegal and people should ask a lawyer more on this.

@dragnet53 What you're saying makes sense, and I absolutely agree with you, however, the credit bureaus lobbied congress to create these laws that allow them to do this, so not sure if there would be a litigatible legal issue here, however, people who do feel they were discriminated by their credit should check out an attorney specializing in this type of stuff on: naca(.)net

Here in France, even if you have a FAMILY member with bad credit, it could prevent you from getting hired. If you write two bad checks, ever, you lose any right to any bank account for ten years (thus cannot get benefits or a job and all). We have no personal bankruptcy here. It's not possible except for in Alsace, which is very prosperous. I had a structured financing collapse in the USA last year cuz my friend since the 1970s has a bad rep, & bad credit & he totally lied to me about it.
