  • The echo sounds really awkward with James' singing.

  • It is really good. I mean, its surprising that somebody could give a respectable tribute to Pink Floyd's greats.

  • Ladies, please. Dream Theater is playing Pink Floyd. It shouldn't be possible to be anything but chill after this.

  • Lol! Worst cover ever! Mr. drummer, no need for all that snare drum work!!! This is Pink FLoyd, not some Dream Theater shit!!!

  • such a beautiful song

  • Dam I am so frigging impressed with these guys. I have just become a fan of DREAM THEATER. Vocally, Instrumentally, back up vocals and this is live truly a great performance awesome.

  • holy shit GOOD actually GREAT!!!

  • 32 people are not us, or them.

  • me gusta mas el cover de Big Pink de las bandas space bee y emergency blanket

  • Pretty good. But you cant beat the original pink floyd

  • @Robkopfan ofc

  • @Robkopfan no shit

  • Overdrumming, GRRRR! Don't add snare work please..

  • @gavquinn I Couldn't be more agree!

  • @gavquinn I actually like it a lot.

  • why?

  • @floresguitar1 Great song, why not? :)

  • every fucking minor thing is similar to orginal, even the timing man......what the fuck..,they could have made it more instrumental or heavy like their own songs....this version of cover aint working that good enough..,anyway pinkfloyd are legends n no1s gonna replace their music & dream theater are no way bad for their own type....

  • if there is no more PINK FLOYD..DREAM THEATER surelly can fill their shoes..

  • I hate it when a band copies a song like this Pink Floyd song right down to the same cord im sure if David Gilmore would have let a good fart go in the song im sure they would have copied it...Maybe Dream Theater should take lessons from Misery Signals show them how to take a song & turn it into there own version check out there Us & them you might learn somthing stop being a tribute band..

  • @DWcriticism LOL! I agree that covers should have the flavor of the band performing them. I'm a little disappointed that Dream Theater did such a literal copy of DSOTM. I love their cover of U2's Red Hill Mining Town because it rocks out in a way that the original doesn't.

  • @DWcriticism that version sucks fucking cock man

  • @1979rickfukingjames Thats somthing You sound like a hillbilly pig farmer/ boilsucker that would even make a maggot gag

  • @DWcriticism Ok?? that still dosent change the fact that that version sucks

  • @1979rickfukingjames Matter of fact i think so also...i dont like dream theater one bit..Pink Floyd hell hey but not Dream Theater... There just a tribute band...I take back what i said i miss understood what you meant...

  • Puta les sale chingona

  • My this band likes Pink Floyd...A totally true blue tribute band..wonder how many country fairs they'v done....Back in the day im sure they would be playing in some bar in toronto..

  • @DWcriticism way to troll asshole. You go but a band together and write anything and Dream Theater will crush. True musicians on stage right here. Go blow your father and ingest his spunk so you know what you taste like

  • Les sale realmente bien. Estoy gratamente impresionado.

  • Phuckin Awesome

  • Trotskykov said it allready

  • vocal, gay!! dont be stupid!you all don't know what it means!

get out this guy of this band!

    would be better without him!

    fink about it!!

  • I have no idea who they are, but this is excellent.

  • @throbasonic1982 u joking rite?

  • Forward he cried, from the rear, and the front row died.

  • I've never went for Dream Theater style. Never even heard them much at all. But I've gotta give em an A+ on this one! Great cover! I'm a big Pink Floyd fan!

  • fantastic :D

  • I say Jordan grows the Kilmeister back.

  • @primusdude87 shit, screw the hipsterlook! let the man grow some facepubes, get the band some balls in their image ( puns barely intended, but still horrible, i know. sorry.).

  • Baritone and alto saxophones are the sexiest instruments.

  • @aflory2000 What about tenor? D:

  • Why do they start with "me and you"?

  • @turumbitix They don't.

  • well done.

  • this is a tribute... for one of the best band in the world, you just such an idiot

  • The song is almost identical, but the sax was way off.

  • cool cover very same...

  • super sound

  • Wonderful song written by a wonderful band and covered by another wonderful band...

  • Comment removed

  • Лучше оригинала театралы сделали!

  • Perfect band that plays a perfect song of a other perfect band

    = perfect music

  • Why are people clapping to the beat in the beginning? It takes away from the slow, gentle effect in my opinion.

  • @MissCartoonist ça reste une reprise et les gens ne s'y trompe pas donc ça peut arriver..devant Pink floyd personne n'aurait fait ça.

  • greatest performance ive ever heard, but maybe im biast because this is my favorite song

  • Ehh.. Screwed up the sax

  • @rockerhippi The whole thing sounds screwed up in my opinion..

  • In 4 thousand years Pink floyd's Dark side of the moon album peoples is stell gonna listen to this Masterpiece.

  • PROGRESSIVE ROCK FOREVER! MY FAVORIT KIND OF MUSIC ALWAYS!

  • great cover by dream theater... yeah!!!!

  • valiant effort

  • Rock on!!!

  • Amazing.

  • Thought this would be average, but i was pleasantly suprised. might watch the whole set now lol

  • This is f***ing amazing.... That sax player is now immortal, and Myung's bass is actually a spacecraft.... LaBrie ain't the most manly man, but he is consistent.

  • These guys did a really incredible job at covering all of these tracks.

  • what some of you are not understanding is that this is from a Dream Theater concert. The crowd came to see this band and the 2nd set was DSOTM, a complete surprise fr everyone. To hear LaBrie sing it is what Dream Theater fans would be tickled about. The instruments are spot-on, and his vocals are the definitive characteristic that make this a Dream Theater cover. If you want to hear David Gilmour sing it, put on the record.

  • @jtor237 i agree, and he did a great job with the vocals, but the whole band did such a great job that if david gilmour was doing the vocals, you could easily believe it was the real thing, not just an excellent cover.

  • @jtor237 Wow, I came to this video for a laugh (and I dont love it as a cover), but fuck...thats pretty cool they did that.

  • @jtor237 They sure like playing other bands material...They should have picked another band because they suck at Pink Floyd..I went to a Pink Floyd concert sum 30 years ago & i heard them play this song & it was amazing...Hearing Dream theater makes me want to sleep...

  • @DWcriticism That's only your opinion 'cause you can't get the taste of 30-year old coke out of your nose. DT was just nominated for a grammy, pretty good for a "county fair" band, huh? They make you sleepy b/c they're innovators and fossils like you don't get it/DON'T MATTER ANYMORE. "I went to a PF concert 30 years ago and..." you're pathetic. Live in the past, go to sleep, whatever you want. Just keep your jack-assed, beer-swilling, fist-pumping, rock audience cliche mouth shut.

  • @jtor237 You would'nt know a good band even if your boyfriend was passing you the soap...DT is & will allways be a tribute band ..its lil maggots like you who think they know good music...All you know how to do is bend over so your boyfriends can drive you with there trombone...you may thing your not gay but we know your boyfriends are..

  • @DWcriticism I'm surprised you responded, thought I put you thoroughly in your place. You come back with, "Nuh-uh, nuh-uh! You're gay!...trombone...you have boyfriends...maggots..." Did you drop out of school in 3rd grade? What was that, forty, forty-five years ago? What piss-pool town did you grow up in and never leave?..I just re-read your comment, it doesn't even make sense, just emotional knee-jerk...did your ex-wife roll her eyes when she read this and hand you a tampon?

  • @jtor237 You didnt put anyone in there place. Your a nobody on a scale of knowing good music your only a fucking 3 iv seen concerts that you'd only dream about from Pink Floyd to ZZ Top i even seen the Doors in concert...Just these bands make your Dream fuck all band look like they should keep playing at gay bars were im sure you spend all your time...As for the rest of your comment it dont mean nothing to me it only makes you look like an idiot.

  • @DWcriticism Dude, you can barely speak english. You keep throwing the same old, tired gay epithets at me, and thats all you've got. Who cares what concerts you've seen. You wouldn't understand the concerts I've PLAYED, shithead. Go back to whatever bartending/bouncer/truckdriver/securityguard hourly wage job you have and continue to not matter in this world, like your father and his father before him, i'm sure.

  • @jtor237 Look dude what i do for a living is im a diamond driller..Mine related..Iv worked all over the world my take home last year was $140.000 thousand i own my house and i have all kinds of toys like my show case 69 Plymouth Roadrunner a Bass boat Even last summer i flew to Austrlia to see Peter Gabriel in concert so fuck off you lil shit you not even close to being in the same class as i am...Like i said your just a fucking 3

  • Us and Them is hands down the best song that, was, is, and ever will be

  • Haha the first "us"! Saxi ;)

  • The band covers these songs quite nicely...Not a fan of them so I don't know their names, but the singer really isn't suited for Pink Floyd. He's not bad though.

  • All of you comment while I go to full screen and enjoy.

  • Magnificent job!

  • Very similar to the original. Doesn't sound like Dream Theater at all.

  • these guys are good at what they do, but pink floyd is the absolute best at what they do, and that is to make beautiful music witch we can all apperciate. like the cover the voice ehh little iffy but all in all u guys nailed it, great job!

  • @MrSkreen, yeah your sure a big fan of both bands, when you can't even spell Dream THEATER right, pfft. Weak

  • BTW. The sax player played in Roger Waters' band, so he should be allowed a little artistic freedom to play his parts a little differently. :)

  • Dream Theater = One the the greatest bands of all time - definitely!!!!

  • sax player needs to listen to the songs over and over will help alot. He is good but making his own style, not near the orig

  • @attapattapie agree the sax is way off but its still pretty good overall

  • @msa1985 I suppose you hate Pussy as well.

  • Good cover, but there is only one Pink Floyd. No one is as good, no one can match the concert experience of Pink Floyd. But, i will give them #1 cover for this song.

  • do not like the voice of this guy, the instrumental cover is nice.

  • LaBrie does not suck, his song just doesn't fit PF songs... there is a difference...

  • Dream Theater: the only band that can do Pink Floyd justice. Although the vocals were a bit too unique for my taste, they were interesting. On the other hand, the instrumentals were incredible. I also love how they recorded their own version of the "They're not gonna kill ya" audio clip.

  • it is a great cover but i dont think they have the spark of PF.

  • Beautiful song beautigul cover, dream theater do it again !

  • Hey Floyd fans, stop saying Dream Theater did shitty covers. They pulled them off beautifully in their own style. Once Pink Floyd covers Octavarium, SDOIT, A Change of Seasons, or pretty much any other album from Dream Theater...why am I even saying this? I know Pink Floyd could never pull off a Dream Theater album if they tried...silly me.

  • DT are good at covers,

but pink floyd version of there own songs whether its that album version or not are not offence but so much better than what these could ever come up with, sometime the album version does not do the band any justice (like Money sounds better on the live pulse album than the original recording on DSOTM), you know PF are genius, you can't really say that about this band really, i do like them though.

  • @IL0veMoz I disagree. Both bands are musical genius in their own rights. PF wrote the book. DT studied it, learned it well and is still expanding on it.

  • @JonasHaterTillDeath I agree with DTrock09. If you don't like them, then don't comment or watch the video for that matter. If you don't like it, then don't listen to it dumbass.

  • I dont like DT, but... how I admire them! this is a real band! long live real music!

  • @losmononos and I admire your intelligent comment, not many people like them or recognize their value!!

  • Dream Theater is one of the most talented bands in the world, today!!! BAR-NONE!!! They are just fan-fucking-tastic......and I'm going to see them again, in 5 days, with Iron Maiden. Should prove to be a 'powerful' show~~~God Bless Dream Theater.......they're the 'BEST'!!

  • What about the fuckin echo effect on vocals? It really spoils the sound of song. It=s worse than original Pink Floyd version, but still awesome

  • I like this more than anything Dream Theater ever wrote.

  • The singer has trouble pronouncing his "R" sounds, its quite annoying

  • That sax is dreamy, this is incredible - LOve PF LOve DT and here they are rolled into one - brilliant thx 4 loading all these - aweosme

  • i really wish people would stop bitching. i'd be going fucking crazzzzzy if DT brought DSOTM out at a show I've went to.

boo fucking hoo it isn't gilmour and waters, shut up. i seriously can't understand that.

  • Labrie - shrill and off-key. No thanks. I don't like operatic voices, period. But the rest of DT makes it worth listening to. Over and over and over...

  • Pink Floyd rules, Dream theater rules. So, wonderful cover :)

  • Best cover of this song I've ever heard

  • I think they should have just had Portnoy and Petrucci sing this.

  • awesome cover! I've never listened to a dream theater song before but I definitely will now! Any band that covers the genius of pink floyd is worth listening to

  • The music is great. But the voice of labrie sounds like crap :(. It is imposible to compare it with david gilmour performance and we must admit that gilmour voice is unique, like freddie mercury, phil collins or sting...

And labrie is a good singer, but his voice is not good :(

  • @Ulghart that's because he's not trying to imitate his voice, that's why it is a cover :)

  • My favorite song of Dark Side.

Sorry but Labrie sucks, i don't have other word. He sucks compare to Gilmour (who's not only a singer...)

  • The saxo solo at minute 6:04!!! :)

  • I don't understand exactly what everyone's bitching about. Yeah, sure it ain't Pink Floyd, and it isn't ever going to be Pink Floyd. But, Dark Side of The Moon is one hell of an album, and to attempt to cover the whole album, that takes some guts. Yeah, I'm a die hard fan of Pink Floyd and I usually hate covers, especially of this album, but really, these guys did pretty damn good. They added a bit of their own thing to it too, which is what covers should be. Not a replica.

  • @Trotskykov Amen ! Would love to see DT go on a PF cover song tour....Amazingly dead on musically....No one else has the PF sound nailed as well....Very pleasing to my PF ears....

  • afdmdmeka, have you always been this stupid or is this a recent ailment?

  • awesome!

  • that saxophone man didn't know da song ._.

  • @afdmdmeka

Yes, you're entirely right. The professional working saxophonist hired to play at this performance doesn't know this hugely well known song, a song from an album which must be right up there with the most famous albums to feature mainstream saxophone playing. Yet you, a YouTube illterate pleb, do know it. That's most likely.

It's not likely that the saxophonist is sticking mostly to the main themes and improvising a little, is it?

  • Were close to perfection (Pink Floyd)!

Rarely can say that even close, but they had courage and talent to do!

  • i agree dt can cover others, but others cannot true

  • actually i prefer this than the pulse version

pink floyd and dream theater rocks!!!

  • "Afterall we're only ordinary men" ??

Looking and hearing THAT wiry high

pitched singer with the sloth hair cut

I would have to say NO.

  • @phileustace - what a stupid comment.

  • Who is that idiot whistling out at 0:36 - 0:37 ?????

The guitarist is obviously not happy and neither am i !!

  • lol y made me laugh

  • lol that made me laugh to

  • wonderful)))) applause from Tbilisi, Georgia!!!

  • i love this :)

    x

  • This performance really makes me feel a deep admiration about DT. Seriously, thy're really good...

But I haven't been able to place my affection for the Majesties that Floyd are. They're just the gods that inspire a talent showed by DT in here.

Pink Floyd rules and DT behave.

  • DT KISS MY ASS!!!!

  • James's voice is perfect in this song (and in general), but here in particular fits incredibly well, too bad you can't see his face in here jajaja

  • Very good sax... only Dick Parry can do better :)

  • I'm sorry, but the sax playing by Dick Parry is really bad

...coming from a guy that has played saxophone for 12 years.

  • listen to PULSE live version (Earls Court 1994)!

    Dream Theater, go home!!!!!!!

  • hey, maybe you should pay some respect. this is a frigging tribute.. i love dream theater and pink floyd. and they did a great job, why are you stingy? come back when your cock grew back.

  • don't worry, my tone was laughing.. DreamTheater cover is very good, even if I prefer Pink Floyd version (and Gilmour voice in particular). I pay respect for any musician and I pay respect for your opinion. And my cock doesn't have to do with all these things. Enjoy Dream Theater if you like them!

  • @JonasHaterTillDeath

    Um no...

Pink Floyd = one of the greatest bands of all time

Dream Theatre = one of the greatest bands of all time

  • @MrSkreen

I agree with you dude :)

  • OMFG so you believe that Pink Floyd and Dream Theatre are on the same boat?

  • @MrSkreen well which band do you think to be the best?

  • @MrSkreen NO.... Pink Floyd = the most great band of all time /Dream Theatre = one of the graetest band of all time

  • Dream Theater = one of the greatest cover bands of all time - may be..

  • @Romchikthelemon Yeah, but not only =)

  • @MrSkreen Dream Theater is one of the greatest prog rock bands of all time. Pink Floyd is simply one of the greatest bands of all time.

  • @MrSkreen Yea your write because they can cover a bad or boring song and make it way more amazing. Like when dream theater covered Dixie Dregs's Odyssey. And also when they covered Iron Maiden's Gangland.

  • @JonasHaterTillDeath

what the fuck is wrong with you!!

dream theater is without a doubt one of the greatest bands of all time.

now i don't mind if their not your thing and if your into other stuff but really you can not say that their lame at all. just look at all the awards that they have won. and lastly if you don't like them then don't comment.

  • I want an oasys

  • this is the best of the dream theater dark side covers ive heard. i wish they werent so true to the original though!

  • wow fantastic cover

  • that's a sick keyboard, with a screen for the music

  • Yes YOU DO WANT TO SEE THEM LIVE !!!

  • One of my favourite Pink Floyd songs. And Dream Theater is definitely one of my favourite bands, after number one Pink Floyd ofcourse. But they do an excellent job and you can tell they understand the music of Pink Floyd, they're not just able to play the music, they know why and how it needs to be played....

  • Well, for Pink Floyd being the best band ever in my opinion Dream Theater does not do bad covering their songs, this was great, I'd love to see these guys live.

  • God they relly love Pink Floyd.. Nice job DT...

  • It's so great that such musicians can appreciate what Pink Floyd is to music by a brilliant tribute.

  • Wow!

  • This is the best Floyd cover I have ever heard. Very true to the original. And doubly impressive being live.

  • toast is true. This is their signature song. "Hus, hus, hus....... and Them!"

  • Do they often cover pink floyd when they tour?

  • they did this as a one off, they played the entire dark side album start to finish, theyv also done it with metallica's master of puppets and few other albums

  • fuck you! They did a great show!

  • @Baktiridion

wow u are a fuckin idiot.

if u dont like it dont listen...youre only torturing yourself..nobody here gives a fuck about you. so let us enjoy this great music.

  • @BlindFaith418 Like i fuckin care what you say...

  • ..dude..metallica ruined master of puppets..along with every other one of their songs when they started playing fall out boy music

  • DONT COMPARE MUSIC!!!! just.....LOVE it

  • OOOHHHHHHH, que version!!! Que lograda!!! UUUyyyyy, men..

  • Wow,excellent cover. Very impressive.

  • Who are you? Melanie?

  • wow super great cover!!! didnt think it was going to be this good

  • Sweet!
