  • I love the fact that former 11 o'clock Show stars Gervais and Baron-Cohen are now multi-millionaire Hollywood stars, and little old Iain Lee who also used to be on the show, is a complete nobody!!! Oh man that makes me happy!!

  • Embarrassing

  • I hate the BBC.

  • adam buxton has been andy millmaned

  • AWFUL

  • this is depressing to watch...

  • Ubershite. Jonathan Thake should never have been commissioned to write 'comedy'.

  • Sorry, is this meant to be a comedy? Because it's about as enjoyable as slamming your genitals in a window.

  • Jarred Christmas is great. Adam Buxton is great. Iain Lee has been on telly before.

This prog doesn't look very good though.

Apparently it won two baftas tho...

  • This can't be real? Jesus Christ.

  • poor poor Adam.

  • I like everything Adam Buxton does... When I say 'everything' I mean 'everything but this'. Do your own thing Buxton! Less of this shite!

  • You can telling theyre all thinking "oh my god this is crap..." as they're saying the lines

you can actually SEE the embarrassment in their eyes

  • Laugh track, dreadful just dreadfull

  • If that isnt canned laughter the audience must have either been stoned or held at gun point.

Youll get through it Buckles...stay strong. :P

  • @monkeybike

I think they were laughing out of embarrassment. Or it was the cast and crew's family laughing to try and take away the pain of seeing their loved ones having to recite the script.

  • @monkeybike Or maybe the audience have their own tastes and senses of humour which are different to yours.

  • @DistantJ "Your mum" jokes? What? Really? So the entire audience is made up of 10-15 year old boys? Because they didn't sound like 10-15 year old boys.

  • @monkeybike Well, I didn't find the 'your mum' jokes in there funny, but I know a lot of people who would, and I'm not gonna go around calling them idiots. And I think the joke is supposed to be that it ISN'T funny and the guy's desperately trying to recover from it. I didn't like the scene very much either but I thought the show was alright. It could have been a lot better but it could have been a lot worse. I don't get why people get so FURIOUS just because something didn't make them laugh.

  • Oh dear! Tried watching an episode but couldn't finish it. Shame because I know both Adam Buxton and Iain Lee are extremely funny.

Might be persuaded back if - in a forthcoming episode - they came out on set to announce the writer had been fired then invited the audience to join them for their own show in an neighbouring studio : )

  • How did they go back in time to fetch the young Hugh Laurie?

  • Lol :P do you watch A Bit Of Fry And Laurie?

  • An electric free time machine.

  • zing

  • obviously fake.

  • Thankfully this is fake.

  • all British comedy seems to have gone this way, last time i checked (i stopped watching television about 2 1/2 years ago). Adam Buxton is great on his own terms, but he can't save this cack..

The BBC should have kept MeeBOX going, in my opinion.. That was a really good idea for a sketch show format, and genuinely funny too..

  • yeah, cant find any episodes of it anywhere though. plus, adam is great with joe!

  • I love Adam too.

This bemuses me. At least he will get material for his radio show LOL

  • Ooh, middle aged men making jokes that 14 year olds made years ago. Funny in a chatroom, less so on TV.

  • That has to be the largest amount of canned laughter i have ever experienced in one sitting ever.

Adam, just claim it was your doppelganger.

  • "That Nathan Barely was great. But I didn't like the oddness or the strange dialogue. Let's remove all that and make it more accessible. More proactive. Synergize!"

  • I think I will give this a miss. Shame, Buxton is really funny. I just did not find this funny. The canned laughter is painful and that alone would make me switch off.

  • wow, not quite murray

  • that canned laughter is excrutiateing

  • This makes me think of When the Whistle Blows, the sitcom Ricky Gervais's character made in Extras. It's lowest common denominator stuff. Shame that Adam Buxton would do this.

  • I was just thinking the exact same thing.

  • @MendelsonShape I thought exactly the same thing. Adam has ideas in his head but execs just keep coming up with their own rules and ideas about what should go in. Sorry Adam.

  • Yup. Thought same thing. Buxton should write his own material always going to be far better than this.

  • I'm a big fan of Adam Buxton, But i have to say, this doesn't look too good.

Get a new Agent Adam! and Get back on the radio with Mr Cornish!

  • I'd rather sleep with my mum than watch this shit excuse for a comedy show ever again.

  • like 'Mad Men' for children.

There's some entertainment in watching an ageing bloated Buxton humiliate himself while resembling a late career Dan Aykroyd.

  • christ this is shit

  • I think this show is absolutely brilliant! Even though I haven't seen it.

  • I like this show for some reason

  • Sack your agent Buxton!

  • Bloody awful, I've seen cleverer comedy on children's television. Deserving of a BBC2 slot at 10pm? Not at all, this is "Granada Men and Motors" all the way. What were they thinking when they were making this, there are some accomplished comedy actors in it, poor guys, they must have known that it was shit as they were making it.

  • Loved the first episode.

    COCKNEY CHEESE? LEAVE IT AAAAHT!!!!!!!!!

  • i really like iain and adam but not in this. iain aint great at acting and adam is too good for this and easily makes the rest seem like extras who shouldnt really be talking. im from ireland and feel kinda angry that people in britain are paying for this with telly licences. Its stealing ideas from the i.t. crowd, ab fab, the family and other shows and just mashing them together. it doesnt know what it is. too many comedians and no jokes. more actors and a little less "pencil guy" WTF!!!

  • Oh come on, be fair, stupid people have the right to be entertained too. :)

  • just watched the first episode. it's a shame to say with all the hard work that's gone into making a whole series, but i thought it was risible. it looked cheap, the performances were grotesque, and the script bashed you over the head with its hamfistedness.

  • Emmm Crap.

Not funny at all, not even close.

What demographic does this actually appeal to..

  • No one make a comedy about advertising. EVER!

  • its iain lee !

  • nice hair iain.... nice hair...cant think where u got the idea...ryan reynolds??!!

  • Okay yep! I demand more episodes of Meebox! And less of this sort of thing.

  • Can't understand why they put this on the air.

    Utter rubbish.

  • I love Adam Buxton but this is rubbish.

He produces better stuff on this own than this.

    Quite a let down.

  • a absolute shambles, iain lee a legend on radio but thems the brakes

  • Just watched this on iPlayer. Absolute GARBAGE; ridiculous acting, undewhelming jokes and horrible characters. Adam Buxton and Iain Lee should be ashamed; this is a complete waste of the license fee.

  • Hahaha! Brilliant, classic stuff!

Sorry, I was just watching the video of the fat kid playing with a light sabre.

Now what's this shit all about?

  • Come on, Buxton. You can do better than this. *shakes head*

  • Baby needs shoes...

  • Adam Buxton.....what WERE you thinking?!!

Love you, see you, BYEEEEE! Mark (UK).

  • : )

  • Iain Lee Touches his winkie

  • @markemment You fear Iain Lee!

  • You are Vinny

  • looks quite amusing

  • isn't Jarred Christmas from New Zealand, not Australia?

  • i don't think your average British telly watcher is smart enough to discern between the two. a bit like how Canadians and Americans also both sound the same too us.

  • well said

  • but they should be able to tell! And doing something like this isn't going to help them work it out!

    I am quietly angered.

  • yeah but i mean really is there that much difference between Australians and new Zealanders? aren't both just a bunch of ex convicts that are really good at rugby

  • there is quite a lot of difference, New Zealand was never actually a prison colony like Australia was. New Zealanders are the rugby guys, aren't Australians better known for their cricket? I don't know about the sports side if I'm honest. Basically, they're two different countries, and they're similar yeah but they're also really, really different. Just wiki it if you're going to make general ignorant sweeping statements like that.

  • i guess i am now officially a troll, it really is as easy as the say it is. i was only joking, i've actually been to both Australia and New Zealand and they're both very interesting places. the point is that it's impossible know the different intricacies of all countries,

I bet Jarred is just happy too get work, the money from the pot noddle ads isn't gonna last forever

  • Yes it was. It was where Aussies sent their prisoners when they deported them!

  • Yes but, he's playing an Ozy.....

    Kind makes sense????

  • Yep, he's a Kiwi

  • aargggh. This annoys me. A lot.

I mean, I see that they wanted an Australian character, not a kiwi character, and that Jarred Christmas is a good actor, and obviously who they wanted for the part. But he's not Australian!!! >:(

  • It's just re-enforcing the 'New Zealand is the same as Australia' stereotype
