theres a different version of this with percussion in it and its alot faster. It's played when Toboe unleashes on that giant walrus and when Kiba and Tsume fight Wolf Darcia. So sad that it's not released -.-
The Album it self is Bad ass, but this song is over Emotionaly over whelming, and powerfull. Every time I hear this song, I would like to sit in front of a fire place, in my big ass chair smoking out of my old wooden pipe. Something that a Rich man would do.
This show has some of the best music I have ever heard from any show or movie. Seriously, I love how emotionally powerfull it is and how it can put me in a certain mood that fit the show so well.
A lot Yoko Kanno compositions were stolen from other composers, and because of that she will definitely not be in any history books. Cloud nine, for example, is exactly similar to a Russia song expect it's Japanese. Some claim she just uses the songs as inspiration, but its stealing.
I don't think that will stop her, theft is nothing new in the music business. Look at Led Zeppelin, they've been accused of plagiarism multiple times and I believe they even got sued, but that didn't stop them.
@DarkWolfCorperation She is amazing. The sad part is, unless you watch anime or play certain videogames, you'll never hear her work. She only composes for those things.

Sadly, Kanno seems to plagiarize a lot in order to create "her" compositions, if not all. You can find some interesting videos on YouTube regarding that.
The thing is, she must of gotten permission to use those tracks. Otherwise she would be out of business.
I saw the comparison videos. They're definitely arrangements, but my opinion of her doesn't shake one bit. She's still and amazing composer and arranger.

I doubt the people she works with do really have that much time or interest in order to compare her songs with dozens of others, while most of the artists she presumably does plagiarize probably simply don't know about her. Those people who discovered the ongoing similarities are mostly fans who would never charge her even if they were able to. Im surprised they were able to find out about this, the artists...
...Kanno seems to plagiarize apparently seem to be unknown to the bigger mass of people - which supports my earlier conclusion that they dont know about Kanno. She and those other artists work in completely different fields, or did you ever see her trying to „arrange a song (for example) from Yuki Kajiura, Kou Otani or Nobuo Uematsu? No, of course not, since they work in the same or at least similar fields and therefore might sooner or later discover Kannos activities...
...And there aren't only just arrangements. I clearly remember some or at least one of the Jazz songs (from Cowboy Bepob afaik) taken straightly over without any (noticeable) modifications.
If she at least would mention the original artists and songs she does „arrange, but she apparently never seems to do that, which makes people - just like me recently - believe that she was the original composer of all the songs she is affiliated to in a corresponding role. She might have...
And come to think about it, I'm not really surprised about this plagiarism issue. Kanno's music often appeared extremly heterogeneous in terms of style and such to me, as if she was blessed with the skill to compose everything one might wish her to do. You might listen to only one soundtrack marked with her name and yet you can hear dozens of different musical influences - too many one single woman could ever create on her very own.
I compose in nearly all her styles too. Orchestra, Electronic, Jazz, listen to some of of my stuff if you want. It's more then possible in this day and age to be good at more then one genre and even be as broad as Kanno. Even though she's an arranger as well, she has shown INCREDIBLE skills composing in those styles as well. Remember that not every song on an OST of hers is going to be an arrangement :)
I like this version better than shiro, 1, because it's longer, 2, cause all the instruments stick together(like a pack of wolves! XD) instead of 1 playing a solo bit higher up and it's longer!!!!
Not really acctually there are 30 episodes because in the 4 recaps you learn new information from the different points of view ya know? if it was just a recap there would be no narrator giving new info or opinions..

There is almost no new information in these 4 recap episodes, that's why most people consider them as useless filler episodes. I can remember one or two new short scenes, but they aren't really that important.

theres a different version of this with percussion in it and its alot faster. It's played when Toboe unleashes on that giant walrus and when Kiba and Tsume fight Wolf Darcia. So sad that it's not released -.-

The Album it self is Bad ass, but this song is over Emotionaly over whelming, and powerfull. Every time I hear this song, I would like to sit in front of a fire place, in my big ass chair smoking out of my old wooden pipe. Something that a Rich man would do.

A lot Yoko Kanno compositions were stolen from other composers, and because of that she will definitely not be in any history books. Cloud nine, for example, is exactly similar to a Russia song expect it's Japanese. Some claim she just uses the songs as inspiration, but its stealing.

I don't think that will stop her, theft is nothing new in the music business. Look at Led Zeppelin, they've been accused of plagiarism multiple times and I believe they even got sued, but that didn't stop them.
But to each his/her own, I guess. :)

Sadly, Kanno seems to plagiarize a lot in order to create "her" compositions, if not all. You can find some interesting videos on YouTube regarding that.

The thing is, she must of gotten permission to use those tracks. Otherwise she would be out of business.
I saw the comparison videos. They're definitely arrangements, but my opinion of her doesn't shake one bit. She's still and amazing composer and arranger.

I doubt the people she works with do really have that much time or interest in order to compare her songs with dozens of others, while most of the artists she presumably does plagiarize probably simply don't know about her. Those people who discovered the ongoing similarities are mostly fans who would never charge her even if they were able to. Im surprised they were able to find out about this, the artists...

...Kanno seems to plagiarize apparently seem to be unknown to the bigger mass of people - which supports my earlier conclusion that they dont know about Kanno. She and those other artists work in completely different fields, or did you ever see her trying to „arrange a song (for example) from Yuki Kajiura, Kou Otani or Nobuo Uematsu? No, of course not, since they work in the same or at least similar fields and therefore might sooner or later discover Kannos activities...

...And there aren't only just arrangements. I clearly remember some or at least one of the Jazz songs (from Cowboy Bepob afaik) taken straightly over without any (noticeable) modifications.
If she at least would mention the original artists and songs she does „arrange, but she apparently never seems to do that, which makes people - just like me recently - believe that she was the original composer of all the songs she is affiliated to in a corresponding role. She might have...

And come to think about it, I'm not really surprised about this plagiarism issue. Kanno's music often appeared extremly heterogeneous in terms of style and such to me, as if she was blessed with the skill to compose everything one might wish her to do. You might listen to only one soundtrack marked with her name and yet you can hear dozens of different musical influences - too many one single woman could ever create on her very own.

I compose in nearly all her styles too. Orchestra, Electronic, Jazz, listen to some of of my stuff if you want. It's more then possible in this day and age to be good at more then one genre and even be as broad as Kanno. Even though she's an arranger as well, she has shown INCREDIBLE skills composing in those styles as well. Remember that not every song on an OST of hers is going to be an arrangement :)

I like this version better than shiro, 1, because it's longer, 2, cause all the instruments stick together(like a pack of wolves! XD) instead of 1 playing a solo bit higher up and it's longer!!!!

Not really acctually there are 30 episodes because in the 4 recaps you learn new information from the different points of view ya know? if it was just a recap there would be no narrator giving new info or opinions..

There is almost no new information in these 4 recap episodes, that's why most people consider them as useless filler episodes. I can remember one or two new short scenes, but they aren't really that important.
