I've been manufacturing these types of challenge coins for a little over 7 years now. Honestly, we really come across some very cool designs and coin types. The thing that really makes these things valuable, in the end, is uniqueness. Obviously old coins and collectibles will be worth their salt as well. Keep in mind that all sorts of people use challenge coins for reward systems, not only the military and government agencies!

i have 5 challenge coins that i have earned...I have seen higher pass them out like candy instead of a COA or ARCOM. I personally recognize the 5 I EARNED; 1ID, 3ID (1-64 AR), 5th sig, etc......

You should earn these coins not buying them off the internet people who have these work their asses off to get them the only time you should get them off the internet iswhen you are a replacing it
Trust me as the owner of U.S. Challenge Coins I know what coins are being made and handed out. Only a slim population is working their asses off for a slim portion of coins. 99% of people can't earn 99% of coins made. I am military as well so I get it. People buying them aren't going bragging about things they didnt do and if anyone is through these coins then that's just sad.
Great Video.....I've got about 50 challenge coins. Some were my fathers and I've purchased others. I was given a Navy Master Chief coin and I have a 3 Star General's coin, but I don't know who he is. It was given to my Dad by a WWII General. He was in the 82nd Airborne and jumped into Normandy on D-Day.
Anyway, this is a great video and I appreciate the information you shared.

I am Military and have been awarded with a coin by some of our nation's top and best military leaders. my favorite coin is the one that was presented to me by Admiral Mike Mullen, U.S. Navy (Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff) .
Price does not necessarily mean that a "coin" has a value to a collector. Just because a coin is worth "a dollar," does not mean it is not a good coin. Collect what you like, not what someone on a video tells you to collect!
I would agree with you. I should update this video but the coin does carry a value in the collecting world, but someone should absolutely collect what they want because it has value to them. By all means take the video with a grain of salt and collect what you desire.
