@ForMySinsEasyGamer Compatability modes works in all versions of Windows, you're confusing it with the 'Windows XP mode' feature only available in the Professional, Enterprise and Ultimate versions of Windows 7 which and has nothing to do with compatability modes.
Honestly, the vast majority of older games work right out of the box on Windows 7/Vista (and same for Windows 8 when it's released) while some need some tweaks, which are easy no matter how little you know about PC's.
@Phrix89 lol I'd love to know what these little tweeks where since I have loads of games I'm unable to play on my PC that I would enjoy doing again... but yeah side tracked away from all the other points I've been making.... I think this is definitely something people should try out first hand for themselves and make their own minds up... it is the first time i've seen this technology implemented and sure it isn't perfect yet but damn it's very promising.....
The games included in the playpack subscription some of them are incredible games and would not run on my windows 7 operating system otherwise.... I get to play games made for xp and vista alike instantly and easily on one computer... it's a mind blowing concept/technology that's only going to get better....
@ForMySinsEasyGamer I've yet failed to find a game that was made for XP/Vista that doesn't work on Windows 7, just because older games don't state newer OS's in the requirements it doesn't change the fact like 98% of them work flawlessly while the other 2% only take a couple of minutes to get working.
@Phrix89 I think your missing the point completely.. people love trolls but yeh... this technology allows people with a good connection but maybe a lower grade pc to play games that are new and old alike in the market regardless of their prowess in ICT to get copies working via the few minutes you state... it also allows them to play instantly and the playpack package is outstanding... no downloads other than the application and instant gaming on netbooks, desktops, tvs, mobile devices
@Phrix89 Id also like to quickly mention that my version of windows 7... which is home premium does not allow me to run in xp mode like the other versions do.... and therefore the compatibility mode is totally useless in it.
Few facts about OnLive: games can be removed whenever OnLive/publishers please, no mod support, poor quality graphics, huge input lag, most multiplayer games on OnLive are dead as you can only play with other OnLive users and some games such as FlatOut 2 and Red Faction Guerrilla (and others) even
have their multiplayer completely disabled. Also there's no way to backup your games so when a game is removed from the service It's gone forever, even for those who paid for a full pass.

@Phrix89 Here is where you failed. Most games have a set date for deletion to clear space for the latest games. Of course there is no mod support. The games are getting Streamed to your computer. Graphics are 720p. Thats poor? There is only lag if your internet is crap. What, you want to play with nomal PC users on OnLive? Good greif. Only the old games have multiplayer gone. Only the Oldest games are deleted. So my advice? Dont buy games from 2005. Simple as.
@zamio1 Exactly it's streamed which means no mod support and you cannot backup your games which makes it inferior to disc/digital downloads, and yes 720p is crap considering my monitor is full 1080p and OnLive compresses the shit out of games and looks like utter crap at 720p let alone on higher resolution monitors. As for my internet I have a 20mb fibre optic line and not only do OnLive games look like shit but they also has an insane amount of input lag making the games pretty much unplayable.
@zamio1 Also considering OnLive games are EXACTLY the same as normal PC games it would be very easy to allow everyone to play together but because they don't virtually every single multiplayer game on OnLive is dead, I know as I've tested them myself. Also don't buy games from 2005? Are you fucking serious? Some of the best games I've ever played are from around then and some are even older and nobody has the right to tell me when and for how long I can play the games I paid for.
@Phrix89 thats why I play with an ethernet cable connected almost no lag that way.... turns the quality up to 720p also and I only pay 6.99 a month which I can cancel anytime and get over 100 games to play instantly.. I don't think thats a bad deal at all. plus I have my steam and origin for games I wish to purchase for download. but honestly if your playing through wifi then don't bother. just connect a damn ethernet cable from your pc to router and experience onlive the way its meant to be :)

@Phrix89But the fact of the mater is OnLive isn't for people with high spec computers.
And besides. What about Crysis 2 on Steam? The fact of matter is, there are down sides to every type of platform for gaming. Discs can be broken, scratched, or lost.
Cloud servers can be hacked. Back-Ups can be destroyed as well. What about Origin? If you don't play for two years, they remove all of your data full stop!
There are downsides EVERYWHERE. Not all of them can be negated.
No disks? That's what steam is for. Maybe I wouldn't be hating if EVERY video didn't have their ad at the beginning. YT needs to learn - if we wana see ads, we would watch TV
onlive are scammers they try to keep your account details on there system when you ask for it to be taken off and then when you try to do it online you cant i
Unfortunately or fortunately for that matter, this IS the future because of not using game covers, and manufacturing which costs alot to make, and the environment and all, in a few years they will ban the covers and everything will be digital 24/7, wait until some loony protests, oh well it looks good anyhow
stop hating , iv been on it and its amazing , who says you have to buy everything, iv been chattin with people and playing 30min demos on my LAPTOP for free, and its fucking FUN
I know this is a UK ad but for me Onlive is a waste of money. Why pay 50$ for a game that has a limited availability on Onlive. I can do better with Gamefly.
@XeNIGHTWOLFeX limited time? better price? i don't think so... Onlive have stated that even if 1 person is playing a game when it has gone past the 3 YEAR time frame they will keep it on the service! they also have said that they have no intention to take a game off the service as they want a wide range of titles... and with the Playpack £6.99 a month giving you access to 117 titles plus a 30% DISCOUNT OFF OF EVERYTHING that is the best deal in gaming PERIOD! Sorry mate Onlive is the future.
@1cfcftw I'm saying, I'm not spending $50 for a playpass when I can get the game brand new at Gamestop or something. I still prefer gamefly. Onlive may be the future. But not how I see it.
@Edge0fPain It does have some purpose, people who can't afford good computers or consoles can play a few modern games for a relatively low price. But Steam destroys it if you do have a good computer.
I suppose I never looked at it that way. Crysis at maximum settings... on a netbook. Yeah, it actually sounds awesome, the only problem to me is that you pay monthly. Although the first year is free.
@Edge0fPain It's a Cloud gaming service, it's similar to Steam and Origin. Though, it is strictly external play, with only input from you. Your computer does not process and of the coding or geometry, etc etc needed to play a game locally. That's the biggest difference between Onlive and Steam/Origin.
When you hit the "Record button" (alt+B), the last 10 seconds of your game play is then saved as a "Brag clip". And if you have Facebook connected, it uploads the actual video to your Facebook wall. Only some games allow the actual video to be posted, others just post a URL which when clicked, loads the OnLive client and you view the brag clip in OnLive.
