hey man really a great vid. I have one myself. It`s from my Grandpa. And we even still have those rifles in the army and also the swiss police still uses them but not to kill only to shoot something like hardplastik(Gummischrot) in CRC. So I still kind of use this rifle. Thanks again for the vid... take care man
Hey great video. I love my K-31 and Had not figured out how to take apart the bolt thanks Where did you get the scope mount or how did you make it? Thanks Steve
i've found that the easiest way to get everything aligned is to position the extractor at 12 o'clock (holding the bolt assembly the way it goes into the receiver) through the forward part of the cam groove, lining up the ejector slots, finally putting the pin back in the "fire" position after threading in the cam follower, the whole while pulling lightly on the ring to keep things from sliding around (this can be done with only the left hand, leaving the right to do all the aligning work).
G-R-E-A-S-E not oil! Works for all rifles. In MY Marlin model 60 oil only lasts for about 500 rnds. Grease is good for about 1200 rnds. It's messy but it lasts forever.
Hey, very nice K31. I shot one that a friend of mine owns, it's a great rifle. I bought one as well but haven't shot mine yet. How about a video of you shooting your rifle at the range.
Was this the Swiss Army rifle in use before 1957? I have heard older people talk about it many times. (I am Swiss, living in Southern Germany, and know StGw 57 and StGw 90. The latter is still in a closet in my parents' house...)
Hey! Hey! nice to hear from you again! My old freind! You are correct. The STG 57 offially replaced the K-31 in 1957. Since your Swiss, did you have to serve in the army?
I did, actually I still do. I've escaped the annual repetition service many times cuz I live abroad (although really not very far away), but I'm still a soldier. Every year I go shoot for one day cuz every soldier has to do so by law.
I don't know. Maybe, cuz traditionally Swiss citizenship implies being a soldier. Nowadays everyone who has got a rifle in the army has to keep it at home. At the end of his militar duty he chooses whether to give it back or to buy it at a very cheap price.
We machined a deflector on the mount. Never fails. Got an elk at 350 yds. One shot. Yea, I should of practiced taking it apart before the rec. I made a few mistakes. (mine can get one hole at 100m too. It's just a bit uv a chalenge.
Mate nice vid. However your doing it arse about. Instead of putting bolt in the half safety position. just twist the handle anti closkwise and the handle will slide along the grove and release.
I own a beautiful example. I have managed a 7mm group at 100m with original sites. Off a bench of course. I dislike scopes and have found in thick scrub open sites work better.

What kind of grease do you use?

First off, the K31 has a magazine, not a clip. The 6 round chargers are clips, however, the box containing the ammunition in the rifle is a magazine.

for the earlier comment, it was beech, not birch, that replaced walnut

Ok, now reperform and turn off the background music please. BTW, don't forget the extra lighting so we can see.

It's not required now (am very sure) but am I right that long ago all Swiss men were required to own a rifle?

Question. How do you protect the scope from ejected rounds as the K31 ejects them straight up?
