Anyone who remembers the cartoon that inspired this game might as well imagine the Ghosts saying this, after you grab a Power Pellet: P-P-P-P-P-P-PAC POWER!!
well the PCE market wasn't that big outside of Japan, maybe that was part of it. Pacmania maybe was more complex hardware scrolling wise. Although there was a c64 version.. which was "ok".. I never rated the amiga one when I played it either.
Can't tell you how f*ckin' long I've been waiting to play this game. They better port this on Wii, looks really good like how old cartoon platformers looked.
c64 one was very decent also.. but the winner is the PC engine one... which probably pre-dates them.. I only borrowed my friends machine to play this.. some games ported badly..wizball on c64 was best... the others weren't anywhere near as good..
This is a classic game and i have it on namco musuem 4. I used to play this game in the arcade of my local pub back in the late 80's /early 1990's its class and fun.
I used to love this game I had it on my TurboGrafx 16. I wish Nintendo would pick it up for the wii ware. They have other TurboGrafx games I am really hoping eventually they get this one.
Wow...this brings back some serious memories. I used to sit and watch my dad play this on TurboGrafx 16. I remember him clearly yelling at the ghosts when he got killed, calling them "bastards". XD Thanks for uploading!
Do any of you think this is what influenced Pac-Man 2: The New Adventures on the Genesis and SNES and the Pac-Man World series on PSX and PS2? Anyways, this is a Pac-Man game I have never seen before--and by the looks of it, it looks very rare and interesting... :0P
I could probably buy a house with the amount of 10p's I put into this down Margate and Herne Bay every saturday !! The Sharp X68000 was the best home version, but the PC engine was also very close. Pretty much every other version sucked (apart from PS1 and Mame of course, but mame has a big problem with the scrolling)
you said Sharp X68000 was the best home version the only Pac-Man game on the Sharp X68000 is Pac-Mania not Pac-Land PC-Engine/TurboGrafx didn't have a Pac-Mania game
Afraid not. I HAVE the sharp x68000 version. It was part of the Game Anthology Vol 11. PacMania is also on the Sharp. Im sure if you look it up you will find it. You should check it out. It is a 100% carbon copy.

Sega should've ported the Pac-Land arcade game on the 32X, Genesis, Mega-Drive, Mega CD
Nintendo should've ported the Pac-Land arcade game on the N64, SNES, Wii

I remember playing this one quite a bit (a little in the arcade but mostly on the Turbo) This one needs to come to the Virtual Console.

That port of pac-land audio is messed up
PC-Engine/TurboGrafx 6 PSG audio channels
Genesis/Mega-Drive/Neo-Geo/SNES game
could produce better audio

I like this version. It's the closest to the arcade.

This game reminds me so much of Pac-Man 2 for the SNES. Look at the sprites they almost match.
