@digitaldown Yeah I'm right handed but have always played left hand lead. Nice to see others use it too. Carter Beauford is the other that immediately springs to mind.
Any open handed drummers out there? I'm thinking about making the switch, seems so logical in some ways, but I'm curious about what other open handers think about it ( pros & cons ).
@mlcoo17 i play both. it's good for certain things. it will give you a different approach and feel to how you play and this will open you up to learn more about yourself and what you can do on the drums. i know this isn't the answer you were looking for but don't think too much about it, just do it.
@mlcoo17 Go for it man, I tried it for about a year and even though I ended up switching back it gave me alot. It improved my coordination alot and it made my left hand really come to life. It's incredibly frustrating at first, but after a few weeks you start getting it. Good luck!
@mlcoo17 go for it dude, its a bit hard, but after a while you have two right hands (if you are right handed) its possibly the best thing i did concerning my drumming.
god this guy is boring. i've watched about five of his vids, and all of them are boring as hell like he's just hitting whatever and people clap at random. two of the vids he dropped his sticks and he sucked in all of them. i know he played for miles davis, and influenced danny carey, but holy god do i find him boring and without skill

Lennie is one of the best of all time. Check out his work with Return to Forever in the 70's if you want to hear just how tight and technical drumming can be.
I don't get it. Is dropping a stick that funny? Or is it the fact that he kind of played the drum fill 101 around the toms at 2:28. For such a hip drummer, I thought was kind of funny
I agree with Dark1netx but that bass player is one jiv ass honkey, you can tell White is humoring his solo. His bass playing was section to section, he didnt build his phrases he just jumped from idea to idea and White was not buying.

I bet some of your favorite funk/soul records has whiteboys playing on it; Roger Hawkins, Ed Greene, Greg Errico, Andy Numark, Mike Clark, Gene Pello, Dave Garibaldi, Jeff Porcaro, Steve Gadd, JR Robinson, Rick Marotta, to name a few...but you wouldn't know nothing about them youngsta..
just hearin the intro of the song, as soon as i heard the drummer"s funky beat i got hooked on his funky beat, very grrovy, very chillin, just very laid back and above ^^^^^. great class act band .
