I happened to see the movie "Jaago", where a young girl dies after being raped and the police officers investigating the case encounters a stone wall of corruption in his pursuit of the culprits. If this movie is only half true in its depiction of the corruption in India, then I guess the country really is in need of a major revolution.

What else could you do in their situation if you desperately need any and every cent you can srounge up? Most of them see no other way to feed themselves than to sell what they have left: their own children.

But still, it is made worse by those who actually exploit those "services".

Hey, no criticism here, please. I was merely pointing out the urges of pure survival which drive the people into doing this because they don't know (or can't achieve) any better - and who can really blame them for that? As the saying goes in the land where I live: "In the greatest need, the Devil will eat flies."

And please don't go on assuming that in the most desperate times YOU won't be driven to some desperate measures, either - and I do not condone child abuse, either.
