  • Hi SpecialEd309, I’m a fan of your videos. I’m in the UK and I have this same scope mounted on a Winchester SXP. I have had no issues so far with recoil and scope damage but it is something I’m weary of. The SXP has a free floating bolt which disengages and ejects the case, provided you’re not holding the forgrip. I think this helps with absorbing recoil. I try not to use high velocity slugs and cartridges, generally stick to 1300fps as recoil is fairly standard. I will try and do a video.

  • @cakefart444 the railing i had on their was aluminum. steel is much stronger.

  • @SpecialEd309 Do you still use the Scope on the shotgun? Had any issues with recoil damaging the scope in general?

  • @cakefart444 nope sitting on an A.R. and no damage.

  • Sphv.

Nice gun. Sub if you leave her alone..

  • For some reason, my Cobra will only hold four rounds. Any idea why that might be?

  • @temporaryscars hmmmm is there a plug?! Undue the barrel and see if there is a shell plug in there.

  • To save money tristar put a cheapy aluminum picatinny rail on their shotgun instead of a quality steel milspec rail. If DD Ross or Badger Ordnance made that rail your scope would most likely have just internal failings from the recoil.

  • do you know if ttri star has this sotgun in a regular stock with the spring loaded for arm i rly want it in that

  • @hopecamel if you will scroll down on these messages and click on "tristarrep" he will be able to answer that question better than I.

  • @rugerdude223 transition is fine as long as you don't have a heavy recoil rifle. ive been using a 7.62x39 a.r. for the past few months and i can stay on target the entire time with multiple follow up shots. where i hunt the hogs 90% of the time turn around and run back so when i flock shoot a sounder i always aim for the biggest hog that is from behind and then just lead the shot... in my opinion its a GREAT SCOPE!!!!

  • nice video i own this gun and love it and loved the price even more!!!

  • Ed,

That's actually a very interesting and useful review. Thanks. I've shot the same slugs out of my 870 and I'm positive that the recoil was far more intense than a .30-06 and about as memorable as a .375 H&H. How do you like the mk410?

  • Hey nice Vid.. i have the same scope and i was curious if i was damaged in any when you mounted it when you are firing the shotgun, as i was told never to put it on a shotgun because the scope might be damaged..

    Thanks for sharing your experience..

  • @thehunter419 no damage to scope. been using it without failure for the past 6 months.

  • I'm glad to read in your comments that you like the gun. I wasn't sure if you did based on the video's "matter of fact" approach. I just got home an hour ago with my brand new cobra force pump and can't wait to try it out. No night scopes for me but i do plan on adding a white light. Thanks for posting this video...the slo mo shots are really cool.

  • @MegaDiddly got a new video up. Check it out!

  • @MegaDiddly Great video! Great narration and editing.

  • I like your video. We have yet to see this problem with our picatinni rails, but this was a pretty heavy duty load you were using and a heavy scope. These two factors seemed to be the cause of your rail breaking like this. If you would like to purchase another picatinni rail, you can contact us direct...

  • @TriStarRep Just to clarify. I never stated that it was the picatinni rail. I suspected the weight of the sight was a bit too much to start. I wasn't blaming any part of the shot gun. I love the shotgun. I brought it to the range this past week to sight in the red dot scope I mounted on it. It's and awesome slugger!

  • @SpecialEd309 That was a monster scope. Nice though, but your probably right, it was a bit much for the rail to handle. We have been extremely happy to be carrying this firearm, nothing but success with this gun. If there is anything that we can do to help, feel free to contact us direct and we can get you taken care of. Thanks for supporting TriStar...

  • Dang Bro that is crazy. Sucks that happend. Nice shotgun by the way!!!

    -DUDE

  • Whats up with that pump? Why didn't you have to push that back forward?

  • @jcp342 its one of the features of the shotgun. its spring loaded so you only have to pull back and it kicks back into place.
