  • sd70m's are so nice on videos

  • Wow that last car with the giant window was unlike anything I have ever seen before! Cool!

  • Nice video work! Nice! :-)

  • Love your videos, the camera work and your camera are amazing! I agree with shooting4fun it does feel like I am right there.

  • Why do they have to add that damn diesel on there? I think 844 can pull her own weight.

  • @joeu5431 The diesel is there for more braking power in case 844's brakes fail

  • @TheWaluigiking If it's a Heritage unit it's for Publicity too.

  • Fucking ads. GO AWAY

  • were you by an airport it sounds like airplanes are flying by

  • This video is gorgeous!

  • very nice, ive only ever seen a union pacific train twice here in pa. id love to see a steam engine sometime.

  • This makes me want to go train hunting! You have the best train videos!!

  • Nice Tripod, great video, one of the best takes

  • that was realy cool, realy injoyed this video

  • That was a great catch! Thanks for your efforts!

  • Great! Love the sound of the EMD, and the 844 runby ... neat!

  • What type camera do you use? So clear I feel like I am right there beside you.

  • @shooting4fun a Canon Vixia HG20

  • @shooting4fun what a beautiful camera great quality!

  • Waiting is a part of it all.Sometime your lucky and sometime not. You had luck this time ! Last sunday i allso waited for more than 45 minutes, and when the train poped up from nowhere i screwed it all up with the camera,so i only got the end of the last car !! ha ha ! Greetings from Norway !

  • Both of those trains stunned me;

the freight train because i have never een conainers being stacked on a train

and the passenger train because of the steam/diesel combo and that last wagon.

  • hehehe, dudes complaining about the ecologic damage "caused" by these beauties, simply makes me laugh.

c´mon, don´t be such party poopers and enjoy these eye candies!

  • steam engines are beautiful, but not rly ecologycal eh, so ya might go to electricity

  • Cool! I have never seen a steam train "live" before.

  • Is that one of those steam "tourist" trains? Is the steam loco leading with a diesel loco behind it? Great HD video.

  • That was cool...

  • So long. I dont can believ that!

  • Great video i love steam. thanks for all your work.

  • @fbaublit Thanks, for your comment

  • where is this

  • @X3PAYASO252 Bridal Veil, WA

  • @ervans Did you mean Bridal Veil, Or? lol.

  • @ervans:

Hello, I'd like to ask what is the purpose of the yellow car which can be seen between the steam and diesel loco? Is that aditional water tender?

    Best regards form Slovenia,

    Tono

  • 844 has covered a lot of ground this year. *****

  • I seen the Diesel Behind the steam engine is that for to push the steam engine ?

  • @Biggie1231 No, the diesel is for dynamic braking. I think dynamic braking might be required by law. Also the chance of a mechanical glitch

  • @ervans note the number on the diesel

  • take FAST and ELECTRICAL trains like europe

  • Sweet!

  • Awesome video man!!

  • @CSX6000 Thank you

  • Another great video - at a place I know well!

    tac, missing Oregon

  • @tacfoley Thanks

  • What is that hissing or sparking sound that I hear all through the video? Sounds like air escaping or a big electrical arc. Also, what in the world does "UNDER WARRANTY" mean beneath the locomotive number on the diesel?

  • nice footage. thanks for sharing^^

  • What an incredible sound! I love it when the engineer gives the 844 just a little more power and then storms by! The '60M second out in the diesel consist was a nice touch to the scene as well.

  • @stlgevo51 Thank you

  • Wow ; realy big trains,and UP 844 steamlocomotive....love itt!!

  • @1961ruud09 Thank you

  • The sound of the steam loco going by gave me the chills! Awesome work.

  • @jimmyat460 Thank you

  • Great theater =)

    I love it!

  • @trainfart Thank you

  • It's nice to see a steam engine still in what appears to be active service, rather than just collecting dust in a museum somewhere.

  • Superb video Ervan, one of your best to date, I thoroughly enjoyed that...excellent work behind the lens....Bob

  • @robmasterman Thanks Bob, good place to wait. I met the engineer of the freight and a photographer from Union Pacific

  • @ervans Wow, lucky you!

Did the engineer show you inside the freight train?

  • Ein sehr schönes Eisenbahn Video

    Die Dampflok war super

    5*****

  • Old meets new. Sweet, dude!

  • @skinnyshit8888 Thanks

  • Thanks Ervans. Enjoyed that, and grafitti is a fact of life, though putting stock under cover is not the only answer.

  • @balmesh Thanks, yes graffiti here to stay

  • Excellent video, like and fav.

  • @LDE2100EGM Thank you

  • old meets new age great vid and cool meet i love it

  • @guitar446 Thanks

  • Oh I like the last couple of cars, with the dome and large window in back.

  • @hawaiisidecar yes, it would be nice to ride back there

  • Thank you I loved it

  • Awesome video Ervan, I would love the chance to video A Steam Engine. Everything thru here is ordinary modern freight trains. I have lots of videos and not one is A Steam Locomotive LOL

  • @pwalpar Thanks Walter, you might have to travel a bit

  • It really bothers me seeing grafitti painted on the nose of that diesel locomotive.

I wonder why Union Pacific can't provide better protection for their rolling stock?

  • @writesong yes, you don't see graffiti on Portland Western engines around here

  • They are usually left alone for long periods with little protection. Since cavemen left graffiti behind in caves, there is little hope that modern man will change anytime soon!

  • @writesong You always get morons so desperately fed up with their lives they risk quite a bit just to paint a 4 year old style picture on something.

  • I wish I could catch steamers:(

  • why did that diesel stop so far from the lights? to chat with you?, the smoke, the appearance, the sound all adds to the magnificance of the steam train!!!did he not blow horn for you?

  • @terryyouth yes I did talk to the engineer for a short time and UP 844 did blow it's whistle when you first see it in the video.

  • @roboflyguy yes they do

  • Another great video ervans.

  • @whiskey1951 Thanks

  • steam engines are still the best

  • Awesome Shot of both of the trains!

  • @hellya2011 Thank you

  • why didnt the train have the DD40AX on it?

  • awesome vid!

  • @TrainmanEvan Thanks

  • again your video amazes me i laughed when i saw the engine was under warranty something u never notice on other videos except yours

  • @crapper1Thanks, I didn't notice that

  • i bet you the diesel is made to give the government a shitload of gas money lmfao xD

  • very beautiful shot of that steam train! thanks!!!
