Just remember this yes this is hair metal aka "Glam metal" what ever. all of the bands used to be friends back then FP, PBF, CRUE, Poison and the list goes on. This was the time period when a lot of good music came on the scene, that helped pave the way for lots of heavy metal acts. So if you truly love metal music enjoy it for what it was.

Just saw Taime Downe on That Metal Show last night, he was born two weeks after I was and he looked mighty rough. Granted I haven't lived his lifestyle either. Regardless another great band that somehow never reached the heights they should have.
Maybe I'm nuts, but I bought the debut albums from Faster Pussycat and Guns and Roses the same day shortly after they were released back in the day and I thought, and still do, that the Faster Pussycat record was and still is the better record. Perhaps that is why I could never work for a record company. Today, I would much rather sign a band like OLD 97s or The Drive-By Truckers (bear with me Metalheads), and pass on the lousy but successful Kings of Leon. I just can't pick 'em.......
I first knew this band in the documentary The Decline of Western Civilization Part II: The Metal Years, and they performed this song... I was about 12 years old when I saw it (1992) and I fell in love with the first riff of this song, so I grabbed my guitar and learned it by myself, then went on to trying to play the whole song, which was really tricky, since it was impossible to hear the song entirely on the documentary... Anyway, I still love this song and this band, almost 19 years later...

the whole thrash seen was metal. SOME of the hair bands were metal like motely crue, ozzy is metal obviously, guns n roses (even though they were really the ones to begin the end of it), maybe twisted sister and faster pussycat. definitely not poison, if you had to label them they'd be called "faggots"

Hey everyone. There's been some debate going on with this band as to whether or not they are quote - unquote METAL. FP was part to the late 80's L.A. metal scene so I consider them to fit within the "Metal" genre. I will not get into a back and forth debate as to what one persons opinion is versus another's regarding what constitutes metal or non-metal. It's clearly a matter of opinion. Please just enjoy the music and just quit worrying so much about how to "label" it. \m/

@generalkyletheman It's rock n' roll not metal. The riffs have that bluesy rock pattern and its all power chords. No palm muting single notes or shred solos which are the building blocks of metal. All they did was take the styyle of glam metal. So i guess you could call it 80's glam rock. To me it's just good old rock n' roll with an 80's twist.

I saw the current incarnation of FP in Tacoma back in July. I forgot how many of the songs I remember from the first album. Taime has adopted quite a different look, kind of a smug long haired 80's Rob Halford thing. I thought it was hilarious that he had a cigarette with him on stage almost the whole show (You can't smoke in a building in Tacoma). I have to appreciate a band that's not as popular as they once were not 'mailing it in' when they do smaller venues.

Maybe I'm nuts, but I bought the debut albums from Faster Pussycat and Guns and Roses the same day shortly after they were released back in the day and I thought, and still do, that the Faster Pussycat record was and still is the better record. Perhaps that is why I could never work for a record company. Today, I would much rather sign a band like OLD 97s or The Drive-By Truckers (bear with me Metalheads), and pass on the lousy but successful Kings of Leon. I just can't pick 'em.......

I first knew this band in the documentary The Decline of Western Civilization Part II: The Metal Years, and they performed this song... I was about 12 years old when I saw it (1992) and I fell in love with the first riff of this song, so I grabbed my guitar and learned it by myself, then went on to trying to play the whole song, which was really tricky, since it was impossible to hear the song entirely on the documentary... Anyway, I still love this song and this band, almost 19 years later...

Hey everyone. There's been some debate going on with this band as to whether or not they are quote - unquote METAL. FP was part to the late 80's L.A. metal scene so I consider them to fit within the "Metal" genre. I will not get into a back and forth debate as to what one persons opinion is versus another's regarding what constitutes metal or non-metal. It's clearly a matter of opinion. Please just enjoy the music and just quit worrying so much about how to "label" it. \m/

@generalkyletheman It's rock n' roll not metal. The riffs have that bluesy rock pattern and its all power chords. No palm muting single notes or shred solos which are the building blocks of metal. All they did was take the styyle of glam metal. So i guess you could call it 80's glam rock. To me it's just good old rock n' roll with an 80's twist.
