can anyone help. after downloading microsoft updates, the firewall turned off and i can no longer get on the internet. using win xp home ed sp2

it worked.

although mine was already not configured when i did this method so i clicked enabled then did apply and then went back to it then hit not configured then hit apply and the firewall is now on!

I have this problem. I rebooted my computer after I scanned my computer after it shut itself off on me and restarted. Malwarebyte's deleted and quarentined whatever it found, and a few second's after it rebooted the option's were grayed out. There were/are no malicious item's detected by MBAM. I'm running on Window's XP. Help? Nothing seems to be wrong except for the graying out area's..
