@selfintuition Sometimes malicious users will use a proxy to hide their identity while they mess around with WoW accounts. Naturally this can create problems. WTFast is not such a proxy, allowing you to log in with your own IP address so you are not "hiding".

@leethaxhorses You will never get banned from WoW for using a proxy. WTFast has a "login with my own IP" option so you can log into the game with your own IP address and not worry about triggering Blizzard's automated IP checking system (which will trigger a temporary lock, not ban). Hackers will use proxies to hide their computer location, but WTFast allows users to differentiate themselves from these malicious users.

I'm looking into this, because ever since the new xpack, I've been having latency issues. Its ONLY when I (or someone near me) cast though. Ping will spike up anywhere from 500-1000ms, freezing my screen up. Just for the casts. Never had this issue before, anyone have any idea what could be causing it? What good is a proxy that speeds up tcp to games that require low latency UDP ...such as shooters and fast paced RTS , MMORGs. In one word = NOTHING

Also what good is it to reroute traffic if you have to connect to a proxy which is just as far away or even worse than the service you try to reach in the first place.

i've tried the trial version, i play from new zealand on an american server, usually i get between 200-500 latency, after running it on WTFast i still got about the same, in the early 200's, which was exactly what i was getting when i checked before i tried it on this software

kind of disappointed, i'd love to get 60% better latency... but if this is what the trial version is like, and the full version is actually what improves our latency, why would we buy it when we're not seeing results? x.x

@IzzyBunneh If your latency all the way from New Zealand is only 200ms, there is a good chance you might not be able to improve it much more. Your route is probably already quite good and due to your physical distance from the server, it probably won't get much better. WTFast should help to stabilize your connection however, and help to reduce lag spikes.

The reason people have bad lag in WoW is because nagling is enabled. Nagling groups small packets before sending them and because WoW uses such small packets, your computer is constantly waiting for another group of packets before it will send them. If you disable nagling, every single packet is sent right away. Disabling nagling will drastically lower your latency. I went from 200ms to 30-60ms.

@profis3e , Trees would only matter if you are on satellite. Satellite connections can instantly add 500ms to a connection. If you have anything obstructing your view you should address that first.

If a game needs to be fast this product will not help that much - such as FPS - if you are playing at 600 ping and it improves it to 300 - still not an improvement. Only really good for MMOs.

You will see a difference. If you are at 300ms+ then you want this for sure. It will make a huge change for you.

I have subbed to WTFast, at first I was getting a higher ping but i realized i was using the Leatrix latency fix to have a already low ping, I removed the leatrix fix, was getting between 50 and 90ms. Right now with WTFast I am getting 50-54ms, I am on Stormscale EU, my cast bar, even in crowded places, seems to be casting faster. I would recommend giving the trial a shot. It does take a while to get accurate ping though! But for me, it seems to be working great been using it for a hour now.

I rarely get any lag in games unless someone is forcing a issue. I been using Cable since 1998 when most were on dial up. To pay for something to help your issue heh. its like ADDING STP to your engine that is noisy or burning oil. FIX the problem dont through temp patches at it. Get a nice NIC if anything have a great connection, in WOW I am never over 85 and most fo the time between 25-50 ms
