Nobody are intrested which dog are best pound for pound. Most important is which breed are absolutely the best fighter when it comes breed against breed. And pitbull isnt near winner. For examples CAO vs gamebred pitbull, Cao wins at least 8 times out of 10.

As a matter of fact, i considered getting one because they are great dogs and very loyal loving pets to there owners. I was only making a point that they are not invincible... though no dog is!
@1sowild sure there are some dogs that can whoop some pit bulls...no doubt about it. But these dogs were matched PER weight. you take a small APBT and put it up against a fairly large sheperd who isnt afraid to throw down then that GSD has damn good odds. You take a big dog like GRCH Mayday then youve got a new ball game. And the most respected trait of the American Pit Bull Terrier is the elusive trait of gameness. A truly game edog can take a beating and keep scratching and digging in.
Just because there is no longer open dog fighting events doesnt mean pitbull terriers are no longer the champs in the ring. Back in the day you bring a gsd to one of these events you would be laughed out of the place. We have bred our dogs for specific purposes. Fighting is what pitbulls where in fact bred to do no changing that.

@carnypimp Definetelly! While i admire Pitbull's, they are not invincible. My neighbor's Pitbull came on my farmland, and my German shepherd roughed the Pitbull up till i broke it up. German shepherds may not be a fighting breed, and i would not consider them one either, but they were bred to protect and herd sheep from predators, so in a situation like mine; where my GSD was protecting our farmland, the Pit could be in trouble.

@1sowild I saw one of those big Pakistani dogs(cant think of their breed name) Beat the fuck out of a good sized APBT...rag dolling it like a little bitch for a good 30 minutes. then once that Pakistani dog got tired and the tides shifted ever so slightly that APBT mounted a little offence and that Pakistani Dog curred out first chance it got. tucked tail, turned his head, and quit. No other breed of dog has showed the resiliance and the gameness an APBT has. And thats what makes them great.

Big, gigantic breeds like that aren't really tested for things like gameness anymore, so you have a LOT of weak specimens, and I mean like 70-80% of the specimens are complete trash. The most impressive large pit fighters I've seen are the Bully Kutta, Tosa Inu, and especially the Ca de Bou.

why would you match up a lightweight Pit Bull with a Super Heavy weight wolfhound? this dosn't mean that this wolfhound is a better fighter, for 1. what true professional handler would match their dog in the snow? for 2 it is a PIT Bull Terrier, not a Snow Bull Terrier, there designed to matched in a PIT. You cannot determine this Wolfhound is a better fighter because this is a street match, very unorganized, no Ref's no scratches, no shit, just this big ass wolfhound against a random Pit Bull.

You cannot judge the whole breed by one dog, there are pit bulls who cant bust a grape when they bite it, and there are others who can bite a 2x4 in half. Second I am guessing they had to travel to the wolfhound's home turf, which will give it the huge advantage no matter what dog it is. I aggree about the owner, he not very smart.

If they have that freak ability to bite as hard as some of them have been known to bite and they are game, I believe they are the best fighting dogs in the world, and I don't care how big their opponent is they would kill them. Your talking about the Wolfhound, look up the Turkish fighting dog (Kangal). They weigh 200 lbs+.
@JvVar2120 I also was shown a clip of a female great dane was pitted against a male pitbull(was a good size pitty and had alot of game) but despite that the great dane just dragged and shook that pitbull like a ragdoll. Every time it lunged at her she would evade the bite then grab it by its neck and start shaking and dragging(didnt stand a chance) The dogs gameness kept it from giving up even though it was a lost cause. The Dane couldnt seriously hurt the pit(not enough bite power)
@MaroodaKennels You would have to get an APBT that was able to bite through all that fur and skin, because the Kangal has a lot of it. A good nose dog that was an APBT could probably take one out, Kangals don't have much fur and skin on their nose.

Rottwielers are twice the size and have the strongest bite pressure 3x more powerful then any APBT no matter how well bred plus Rotties are mastiffs. Mastiffs were also used in pits etc. The Tosa Ken, Neo mastiff,cane corso, presa canario, dogo argentino are also breeds to be reckoned with. Alot o these dogs are just as game and have the strength to do alot damage.
After ww2 the japs pitted their best fighting tosa 70 kilo against usa's best pit 24 kilo the fight was over in twenty minutes the tosa had to be put down due to injuries it sustained in the 20 minute fight. I have 2 fights of GS and neo. One was on army base. Solider take GS to fight. He was k9 trained. The neo. give to him that much that GS wasnt able tostand on his legs. Neo owner stoped so he lost. I got all pics that I found of my dogs removed too. All my dogs except the GSD are possesive and weary around men. They growl a lot but know they aren't allowed to bite unless given the command, so I don't worry about it. I could walk all of them at the same time and have no problems because of their training (I'm a female by the way : ). My Tosas look for fights, I need to keep a constant eye on them, I already know from their history that they've killed dogs before. But they release when told.

Pitbulls are a truly amazing breed, it's too bad "certain" people get them for that tough image, or worse, for fighting! My neighbor got a Pitbull for a "tough image", and it got loose one day and came on the farmland my German shepherd protects, within a matter of seconds my German shepherd dominated the Pitbull and sent it home yelping, and it never came back! I felt bad for the Pit in a way, but never let your dog.. even a Pitbull invade the territory of a dog like a German shepherd protectin

They would let me keep my dogs only if I put a muzzle, a choke chain and collar, and two chain leashes on them whenever I went out. It was ridiculous. My dogs are very well trained, but they are Personal Protection dogs and I guess someone found out, we had to leave or put them to sleep.
@ItsAnAllusion i had an APBT from 86-2000 and i had to get him neutered in 91 when the UK brought in the BSL i also had to get public liability insurance too and have him chipped and tattooed and muzzled in public but at the time in 91 i thought i was gonna have to have him put to sleep but gladly that didn't happen he never bit anyone and was always kept under control . i have CAO's and GSD now :) . i agree BSL is ridiculous and only punishes the responsible owner's !
@TheInsomniac247 I have had my GSD for about five months now. I also have two Bordeauxs, a Bull Mastiff, and my two Tosas. I wanted two Bull Mastiffs, but we couldn't find one of good quality and came across my GSD while we were looking. CAO's are gorgeous! I've only ever owned Bully and Mastiff breeds, so I'm still getting used to the way my GSD acts. He thinks he's the boss and he's the smallest one in the group.
@ItsAnAllusion typical GSD lol our female GSD is only 60lbs and is the boss lol the CAO's are beautiful soul's hard to train but no the viscious beasts that some people describe them as lol but they hate anyone who isnt family lol . the bullmastiff's in the uk are known for HD and the small more bulldog like ones are popular. my friend had a 78kg Bordeaux who is very impressive on first meeting then he's your best friend as soon as he knows you lol i like mastiff breeds very nice dogs !
@TheInsomniac247 Yeah my Bordeauxs will warm up to people they know are my friends as long as I'm around, but they are great guard dogs when I'm not home, they don't trust anyone. My Bull Mastiff is ok as long as I'm around as well, both breeds do amazing bite work. My GSD will bark when someone comes into the house but proceeds to lick them to death and jumps into their laps as soon as they sit down. When I got my Tosas they were fight trained, so they are always seperated when I'm not home.

there is no other dog gamer than a pitbull, there might be some fucken mutt out there that weighs 100 lbs more than a true pit ( not those blue hippos) and could maybe pin it down for a minute or so but not beat it. But these dogs were matched PER weight. you take a small APBT and put it up against a fairly large sheperd who isnt afraid to throw down then that GSD has damn good odds. You take a big dog like GRCH Mayday then youve got a new ball game. And the most respected trait of the American Pit Bull Terrier is the elusive trait of gameness. Back in the day you bring a gsd to one of these events you would be laughed out of the place. We have bred our dogs for specific purposes. Fighting is what pitbulls where in fact bred to do no changing that.

German shepherds may not be a fighting breed, and i would not consider them one either, but they were bred to protect and herd sheep from predators, so in a situation like mine; where my GSD was protecting our farmland, the Pit could be in trouble.

Big, gigantic breeds like that aren't really tested for things like gameness anymore, so you have a LOT of weak specimens, and I mean like 70-80% of the specimens are complete trash. The most impressive large pit fighters I've seen are the Bully Kutta, Tosa Inu, and especially the Ca de Bou.

why would you match up a lightweight Pit Bull with a Super Heavy weight wolfhound? this dosn't mean that this wolfhound is a better fighter, for 1. what true professional handler would match their dog in the snow? for 2 it is a PIT Bull Terrier, not a Snow Bull Terrier, there designed to matched in a PIT. You cannot judge the whole breed by one dog, there are pit bulls who cant bust a grape when they bite it, and there are others who can bite a 2x4 in half. Second I am guessing they had to travel to the wolfhound's home turf, which will give it the huge advantage no matter what dog it is. I aggree about the owner, he not very smart.

@JvVar2120 I also was shown a clip of a female great dane was pitted against a male pitbull(was a good size pitty and had alot of game) but despite that the great dane just dragged and shook that pitbull like a ragdoll. Every time it lunged at her she would evade the bite then grab it by its neck and start shaking and dragging(didnt stand a chance) The dogs gameness kept it from giving up even though it was a lost cause. The Dane couldnt seriously hurt the pit(not enough bite power)

Rottwielers are twice the size and have the strongest bite pressure 3x more powerful then any APBT no matter how well bred plus Rotties are mastiffs. Mastiffs were also used in pits etc. The Tosa Ken, Neo mastiff,cane corso, presa canario, dogo argentino are also breeds to be reckoned with. Alot o these dogs are just as game and have the strength to do alot damage.

I got all pics that I found of my dogs removed too. All my dogs except the GSD are possesive and weary around men. They growl a lot but know they aren't allowed to bite unless given the command, so I don't worry about it. I could walk all of them at the same time and have no problems because of their training (I'm a female by the way : ). My Tosas look for fights, I need to keep a constant eye on them, I already know from their history that they've killed dogs before. But they release when told.

My neighbor got a Pitbull for a "tough image", and it got loose one day and came on the farmland my German shepherd protects, within a matter of seconds my German shepherd dominated the Pitbull and sent it home yelping, and it never came back! @Iamsupermansohah All i simply said was situation that happened on my farmland a few months ago where my German shepherd dominated a Pit for invading the land it protects, THATS IT. I was NOT trying to classify the GSD as a fighting dog, i would never insult them like that, i was just giving an example of how a farm dog defended what it protects from a powerful breed, and i called my dog off, and it stopped immediately. Now your coming at me with a Tosa this, a Tosa that, i dont care! cont.....

@TheInsomniac247 Oh that sucks. I used to live in an area where they were banned. They would let me keep my dogs only if I put a muzzle, a choke chain and collar, and two chain leashes on them whenever I went out. It was ridiculous. My dogs are very well trained, but they are Personal Protection dogs and I guess someone found out, we had to leave or put them to sleep.

@ItsAnAllusion i had an APBT from 86-2000 and i had to get him neutered in 91 when the UK brought in the BSL i also had to get public liability insurance too and have him chipped and tattooed and muzzled in public but at the time in 91 i thought i was gonna have to have him put to sleep but gladly that didn't happen he never bit anyone and was always kept under control . i have CAO's and GSD now :) . i agree BSL is ridiculous and only punishes the responsible owner's !

@TheInsomniac247 I have had my GSD for about five months now. I also have two Bordeauxs, a Bull Mastiff, and my two Tosas. I wanted two Bull Mastiffs, but we couldn't find one of good quality and came across my GSD while we were looking. CAO's are gorgeous! I've only ever owned Bully and Mastiff breeds, so I'm still getting used to the way my GSD acts. He thinks he's the boss and he's the smallest one in the group.

@ItsAnAllusion typical GSD lol our female GSD is only 60lbs and is the boss lol the CAO's are beautiful soul's hard to train but no the viscious beasts that some people describe them as lol but they hate anyone who isnt family lol . the bullmastiff's in the uk are known for HD and the small more bulldog like ones are popular. my friend had a 78kg Bordeaux who is very impressive on first meeting then he's your best friend as soon as he knows you lol i like mastiff breeds very nice dogs !

@TheInsomniac247 Yeah my Bordeauxs will warm up to people they know are my friends as long as I'm around, but they are great guard dogs when I'm not home, they don't trust anyone. My Bull Mastiff is ok as long as I'm around as well, both breeds do amazing bite work. My GSD will bark when someone comes into the house but proceeds to lick them to death and jumps into their laps as soon as they sit down. When I got my Tosas they were fight trained, so they are always seperated when I'm not home.

@ItsAnAllusion our GSD is quite a good guard she will let people in when she know it's ok too other wise she is quite territorial lol is your GSD a show type ? my male CAO is similar to the bull mastiff but he will sit and stare at visitor's to our house and will growl at male visitor it took him 14month's to warm to my father inlaw lol but now they're best friends lol i'd like to know more about your Tosa maybe by pm :)

@TheInsomniac247 I believe she is, she has no drive and has absolutely no interest in bite work or training. She's just to sweet, which I found weird since I've always had dogs with aggressive personalities. You can know whatever you want about my Tosas :) I'm planning on posting pics and possibly videos..not to sure though, I've seen pics of my Bordeauxs on google images and in other people's videos. That pisses me off : /

@ItsAnAllusion she sound's like, our GSD is not afraid of anything and will challenge anyone who messes with her lol we call her mighty mouse lmao but she has started at a dog that has growled at her and got our male CAO to go off on one at the dog too but luckily he will stop when told too lol but i dont let my wife walk him by herself cause he get's abit possesive of her around other male dog's and men too lmao . i found pic's of our CAO male on a russian site and got then removed !

@1sowild overrated at what? fighting? they are the best fighters on Planet Earth. The one & only breed still bred specifically for pure dead gameness. No weak dog survives in a good dogman's kennel. Pound for pound, they are the best fighters on the Planet. Sure, there are specimen of Ca de Bou and Bully Kutta I've seen, a few Tosa that could rival them, but all around? A dead game pit bull will take the cake.

@ConiferTreez I agree there gameness is amazing! No doubting that. But they are still overated because they are not indestructible like everyone thinks. My German shepherd handed a Pitbull it's a** for coming on my farmland, the only thing that saved the Pit was me being humane enough to call my GSD back. Anyway, im against dogfighting, and you seem to like it, so i DON'T like you!

@1sowild Then that pit bull was not a top specimen of the breed. Obviously there are poor specimens within every breed. I've seen some piss poor GSD specimens too. I'm just saying pound for pound, they are the top of the food chain.

there is no other dog gamer than a pitbull, there might be some fucken mutt out there that weighs 100 lbs more than a true pit ( not those blue hippos) and could maybe pin it down for a minute or so but not beat it. A true fight is not juast one or two minutes, its untill the last scrach and no other dog out there has more hart than a true ADBA AMERICA PITBULL TERRIER cant call every thing out there a pitbull.
