@NiJuSanVids . I use several sheets of paper for it. First I wrapped the blade with thin strip of magazine paper ( OK magazine), since it is harder yet very flexible when there's glue on it (Don't glue the blade along with the paper, just the paper). The first rolled paper will be soft even when the glue is dried, I then wrap it again, this time with art paper. It is more brittle but when the glue settles, it hardens the saya, enabling you to sand it and repaint it.
@NiJuSanVids As for the handle, I use felt paper. I put in some gold color rolled up foil to simulate the menuki. For the lace, I use several strands of thread, depending on the size of your katana. For example, If your katana handle is 1 inch (overall replica size is 19 cm), you may use 8 strands of thread. Wrap the handle with the group of thread according to your specifications or to your preferred way, don't put glue on it yet until you are satisfied. Then smother the whole handle with glue.
@km3199 After I get a proper cam, I'll make a tutorial for sure. I have already made a 10 page manual about it. I am told that a slide show tutorial would do but I think its not going to work well. What do you think?
I used umbrella steel (Stretcher from scrap umbrella). Polished it with sand paper, bend it, wrap it with paper, etc... until i arrive at this. It really needs patience and hard work.
@ct3gct3g : I used a fine sand paper. After getting rid of the paint or the protective substance on the metal with a rougher sand paper, I used the fine sand paper.
Almost forgot, I have provided a link for the the photos of my collection on the "more info" portion. Check it out for a better look. Thanks again for viewing!
