My advise to artists (particularly game makers) Do more "downloadable content" upgrades that use cd keys, and rely more on the modder community ( aka make it so u can upgrade and downgrade versions thru the company owned server. Add value to your products, and add even more value to ownership. Great examples of these concepts are Dragon age origins, and Sins of a solar empire. great games, but an added level of value is added with Ownership. make retail cheaper, reap the reward
