hey, it depends on how much money you want to spend. i have the standard 18-55mm kit lens just now and the results are good enough if you are just starting out. you can see my photography with it on flickr/paulmcginley i also use an 1980's nikon F1.8 lens which is awesome as it was only £/€30!
im looking to buy a Tamron 18-270mm soon these are around €400
which lense do you prefer? i'm looking to buy the d5000 but i have no idea to look for in a lense. any tips? :)
