The feeling of completing the model, sitting back, and looking at the finished bird surmounts any other stress and frustration acquired when building it.
Fantastic work Brett, i'm a big fan of your techniques from England. I have built models for a few years but not to this level of professionalism, so i'm going to invest in an airbrush and try to put your teachings into practice.
@HeartGoldMVP The blue band is the Reich Defence marking assigned to JG54. The yellow and white bands you mention were in fact for the Eastern and Mediterranean Fronts, but they were different in style (the former was behind or around the fuselage balkenkreuz while the latter was typically just aft). Wider bands of yellow and white were used by JG11 and JG3, respectively, for their Defence Bands, while red was used by JG1 (and, for a time, JG300) and JG 27 used green.
I never will understand some modellers interest, bordering on obsession, with building endless examples of the 109. It must be the single most over-done modelling subject, wouldn't the manufacturers efforts been better spent on some alternative aircraft that have never been selected for creation.
There must be dozens of 109 kits available of pretty much al the variants of the different marks. Trouble is, the aircraft just isn't "interesting" to the eye, it's just too functional to be beautiful.
hey I was a little frustrated too when I was working on a 1:48 scale F-15E Strike Eagle. I do agree what you said. If you're frustrated, just put it down and take a break. Otherwise, you will make more mistake and run the risk of throwing your model across the room and break it. lol.
I like your work and have enjoyed all of your threads. When painting real aircraft in camo patterns we never masked them off, we used the T.O reference to apply the pattern, which would be the same pretty much as your reference pictures. Why do you mask with tape when painting camo and lifting the tape with putty? Can you not get the same effect freehand when painting camo with the light to dark method?
the only way i can manage the patience thing is that I typically have multiple builds going on at the same time. that way I can stay busy, but let things be that need to set or dry. I do mostly armor, but i do some airplanes and cars.
Yep. Me too I was working on this 1:48 A-7 D Corsair 2 and when I started the cockpit I couldent wait for it to dry so I got finger prints all over the thing! I touched it up afterwords but it will never look as nice :(
PLEASE can someone post details of where to buy this stuff. Eveyone I have asked has never heard of it. Trying to find the producton the net is like platting fog too.
hi i just started airplane modeling and i love it ,all military fighter planes .having a problem building my 1st airplane .engine went together fine pre fit the engine housing but when i tried to put the engine in and glue the top to peaces that house the engine will not fit no matter what i do. any help would be appreciated the plane is a 1/32 am62 zero .i subscribed to you videos thx later
Awesome BF! This guy is a pro. He should also warn against the impulse to destroy your model when you get frustrated! I once built a Spitfire vs BF scene. By the time i got to the BF i was really frustrated and made a ton of mistakes. I then put a match to it and burned it and made it look like a really cool wreck! Now that I am 30 years older I feel that I should get another BF and redeem myself! I'll be drinking a bottle of red wine this time to ease my frustrations.
I had frusration with my mistakes and broke them. When i was beginner, i broke 3 model planes, although they were near to completion and one of them were really sophisticated. It was really pity but i didn't forgive mistake. Now, i know how to make model plane. Don't purchase perfect! Don't break whatever may happen.
I see that he has a bottle of red wine in the background (bottom left of the screen).I guess that building models to that level of detail can drive you to drink.
Vry good job I must say. I am more of an amatuer/ hobbist than a pro like you. I cannot afford all your fancy gear so I stick to a couple brush sizes (fine and medium). I have done lots in the past but got rid of them and am working on a new one. It is the Eurofighter Typhoon twin seater 1:72 Revell kit. Happy modelling!!
That was outstanding, excellent model my friend! I can't wait to see you finish the Soviet T-55 tank. Thank you very much for the tips on the cable wire, I'm going to try that on a U-99 German sub I'm building. Thanks for all the good tips. Salaam.
Finally I found a few U.K. suppliers of EZ line.
However, YouTube in their wisdom wont let me post web sites or e-mail addresses.
So, all I can offer is a shop name and address for you to search for online because it's an online ordering system mainly.
Model Junction
916 Yeovil Road,
Slough Trading Estate,
Berkshire,
SL1 4JG.
or of coure you can just write to them.
Hope this helps people like me who have searched for EZ line for ages.

I don't like 1 : 32 scale.. definitely too easy! try to reach a similar level of detailling in 1 : 48 or even in 1 : 72 ... ;)
