  • classic tale of a singer on tour. Simple but moving.

  • The live version on Sounds Of Silence (1966) is also worth hearing!

  • I wish I was homeward bound but I don't know what my home is let alone where.

  • written about five miles from where I'm sat typing if the legend is true.

  • im guessing someone accidentally pressed dislike

  • Students of the game .......musicians teachers"

  • I Still Love You Guys .....

  • The best concert I've ever attended was of Simon and Garfunkel performing at the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids several years ago. It's as if they'd never skipped a beat. Thanks so much for posting this.

  • Great song. Great lyric writing and passion.

  • to a 19 yr old kid on a destroyer in the middle of the Mediterranean this song was powerful when we were told we were going home.

  • I'm sittin' in the railway station

Got a ticket for my destination On a tour of one night stands My suitcase and guitar in hand And every stop is neatly planned For a poet and a one man band

Homeward bound I wish I was Homeward bound Home, where my thought's escaping Home, where my music's playing Home, where my love lies waiting

    Silently for me

  • To my feeling, their best song. Lonelyness expressed beautifully. Ofcourse I bought it in that time to keep it up till now.

  • thank you so much for posting. I am 20, and know that my generation will never have a Simon and Garfunkel, Johnny Cash, or CCR. Thanks though for bringing a relic of that past for me and all other users!

  • @lukestanton17 Im 14 and I totally disagree. While I don't like Lady Gaga or Bieber, I am very confident that there will be another Garfunkel, its just a matter of time. Dont loose hope!

  • @JohannSmitz i am also 14 and i also love these old generation artists..

  • @JohannSmitz hello, i am 14 too and i completely agree with you. let's be the pioneers of the next generation.

  • One of the greatest songs of all time!!

The way Paul Simon reaches into his soul and finds lyrics to couple with his beautiful music is amazing.

One seriously deep and talented guy...

  • "But all my words come back to me in

    shades of mediocrity

Like emptiness in harmony I need someone

  • Great video!!!. Thank you very much!!!. Regards, Sergio.

  • i think this might be the only video on youtube with over 10 likes that doesn't have a single dislike. how appropriate.

  • Love the last picture.

  • @BruceLeDouche Given the nature of your comments, I think "I Am a Rock" and "The Boxer" may be worth a listen too. I wish I could say something to counter your opinion of life, but sadly I cannot...

  • beautifull

  • FUCK. Not many things can make me cry, but this song is one of them. Life is nothing more than a twisted, tangled mass of disillusionment and sorrow... When one friend commits suicide and all the others (along with you) start rolling every day and drinking/smoking to relieve the pain, the joys of life disappear. I long for the days of my childhood, when i listened to this song with my grandma and dad in santa cruz, with the smell of cigarettes and cotton candy drifting through the window...

  • @BruceLeDouche I feel sorry for you...yet life is a garden,dig it!

  • @BruceLeDouche

I know what you mean but it makes me happy and brings me back in that moment - so time is an illusion anyway, isn't it?

  • @BruceLeDouche

Le Douche. heh Dude. Powerful testimonial. LOVE this.

  • @BruceLeDouche So the smoking is this negative thing we abuse to cope with the pain, but the smell of cigarettes in your drifting window? Its almost as if you are alluding to the negativity to come. Redonk

  • @jimmymortis by smoke he means smoking pot or crack but not cigarettes.
