  • please tell me what harmonica key is it if not that's fine :|

  • miss clarence so much

  • The Promised Land will be here...ROCK IN RIO LISBON 2012!!! Waiting for you boss...

  • One of the best DVD of Bruce and the band. Some classic tracks and newer songs all brilliant.

  • 2012 tour is coming. See you there.

  • fucking magic.

  • Sometimes I feel so weak I just want to explode

Explode and tear this town apart

Take a knife and cut this pain from my heart

Find somebody itching for something to start

  • @diderot555 if you have a problem with life, kill youself !

  • @Mopdal

lol it's from the song.... ><

  • I don't ordinarily curse on youtube. However, you've got to give me just this one. Give me an answer. Why the fuck is the E Street Band not in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. How much better do they have to be? The Phantom and the Big Man are gone and won't be here to enjoy the experience.

  • @john9944 I have to agree there mate. I seriously don't see how afer all they've achieved in their lifetimes they couldn't have made it into The RocknRoll hall of fame.

  • Yeah the music is absolutely brilliant, Max is the backbone of it, but seriously listen to the lyrics: Boss has always had somehing to say.

  • thanks Bruce. Whenever life just life blows i turn on a bruce springsteen record and it seems to fade for a while. So glad I found Bruce's music.

  • Impresionante¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ No me canso de escucharla, el solo de saxo de Big Man me emociona¡¡

Awesome¡¡¡¡¡¡ I dont feel tired of listening it, the saxo solo of Big Man makes me feel excited¡¡

Big Man Thank you¡¡ (RIP) Thank you Bruce and E Street Band for making me happier¡¡¡

  • New Jersey=The promised land(and that's coming from an Englishman).

Because of it being the homeland of the likes of Bon Jovi and Bruce Springsteen.

  • @MattRuaneBlog And Sinatra :)

  • 9 Fans of justin bieber are trying to eliminate this video

  • "I've done my best to live the right way

I get up every morning and go to work each day

But your eyes go blind and your blood runs cold

Sometimes I feel so weak I just want to explode"

That's the truth right there, I'm only 20 years old yet I feel so old because I work more then 10 hours a day. You're a fucking hero Bruce for picking us up when we feel like we can't take it anymore.

  • manna from heaven

  • great version here... but... why unembeddable? (i was going to embed it to a blog about my musical brother who's passed, and his band used to play this EXCEPTIONAL tune).... any chance you can change the settings to embeddable? if so, i'll be back to do so, if not, well, i've got to look elsewhere, but thanks for posting it anyway...

  • When Bruce comes back in with the harmonica at 3:05 it has the power of a shuttle liftoff.

  • Every time when i feel depressed or bad, I listen to this song, it always gives me hope and strength and makes me believe in future. Thank you, Bruce, for all the amazing songs you have written! I hope you make more of them in future.

And of course, RIP Big Man and Phantom Dan Federici!

  • @JusRam1 Saw Bruce in 1975 thought I would be young forever; miss the big man and the sweet sound of Danny Federici; too many are taken before their time, but at least we can all still believe in a Promised Land

  • One of his best hit, no guestion ´bout that.

  • It's Barcelona no Barcellona :). Impresionant live!

  • Nothing short of AWESOME. Love it. Boss & the Big Man. Max on drums. So good.

  • This song gives me shivers and a sense of freedom... it's so amazing that made me cry I swear... oh my god, Bruce...

  • AMAZING LIVE

  • Big Man SAYONARA!!

    永遠にsaxは鳴り続ける。

    ARIGATOU

  • Am I the only Boss fan who's sick of hearing "the Big Man is gone." Yes he's dead, and yes, RIP, but he'll never be gone. Only the body is gone. The man, the music, the fragments of his soul he left with each and every one of us each time he wailed on that saxophone like it was going to be his last breath, are going to live on forever.

The Big Man is dead, but as long people have ears, Clarence Clemons will never be gone. And thank god, because I don't think the world could survive otherwise.

  • RIP Big Man

  • The god of sax is no more. RIP big man.

  • Adios Big Man. Vaya con Dios. We'll miss you. RIP Clarence. Awesome harp and sax work on this. I just hope the E Street Band can recover from the loss. Clarence will be hard to replace.

  • last but non least, Clarence... last but non least...

  • today I can't help crying when I listen that sax solo... RIP Big Man, THE GREATEST!

  • RIP Clarence

  • RIP Clarence....so sad...

  • I can't get through Clarence's sax solos without tearing up. RIP- thank you for your inspiration and music.

  • R.I.P. Clarence Clemons.

  • ESSE O O REI DO MUNDO CARA

  • This song makes me want to run onto the street while wearing tight jeans, like Springsteen, and dance while throwing my fists into the air.

  • This is one brilliant song, and amazing performances

  • Rat-hole snake speed way... in the YOU ta desert ? I got the Ray Dio on and, just KILLING TIME ?

  • I Believe in the LOVE, FAITH HOPE and I pray that someday, it may RAISE ME above... *

  • You have genius beautiful music such as this and then you have people swallowing up nigger jungle music crap from hacks like Kanye West, t-Pain, Lil-Wayne,Jay-Z etc etc

  • 6 people are cunts

  • It is impossible to do a better performance!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Long life to the Boss!!

  • the stuggle to stay optimistic even though the circumstances of reality say otherwise, that i believe is a message every single person at some point in their lives can relate too

My favorite Part of the song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN Gods Gift to mankind I think So

  • passion

  • Waking up every morning just to hear the inevitable violence in Newark, nothing but pain and sorrow. Every morning my dreams seem distant but even though they might seem faint, I move forward because I know there is there is so much good in this world. I will find my Promise Land no matter what ... I believe. Thank you Bruce for this song :).

  • 25 years in the military he has been with me just about every step of the way. this is the song that has gotten me thru some hard times. thanks boss

  • this is the best recent version of this song i have seen. INCREDIBLE

  • I am 18 and this is the stuff I grew up on and very happy to have. I will never lose my love for Bruce's music and my respect for the stories behind them. One of my favorite childhood stories when I was about 3 years old and I was out with my family and wherever we were started playing Born in the USA to which the 3 year old me started clapping and cheering. I hope to see my children doing the same in the future.

  • The story of my life ....

  • fuck you!!!

  • fantastic.bruce is the greatest....

  • the best shit ever.

  • @HeLovesCulture it was a dream come true, i did not expect it to be so fabulous :) if you ever got the chance to get to one of his concerts, donn't miss it :)))

  • Comment removed

  • This concert in Barcelona was a special one. I don't think I've seen any footage of all his concerts that have the crowd so totally responsive and one with Bruce.. He obviously has great fans in Italy and Spain, possibly the best.

This concert was on cable TV and the Promised Land from this concert was played during the Kennedy Center Honors for Springsteen in 2009.

  • Five people don't believe in a promised land.

  • HOLY mf shit, thisone is just simply the best.

  • God. He's amazing live. I can never get enough of this man. Long live the Boss.

  • This song brings back so many good memories from my childhood for me :)

    Love it!

  • veryyyyy gooood!

  • People will argue about the greatest Rock and Roll bands, The Beatles, The Who, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, etc., but God Damn the E Street Band is pretty good!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Babydoc509 The E Streed Band is pretty GOD* not good :)

  • fuck i hitted dislike by mistake,FORGIVE ME FATHER FOR I HAVE SINNED.

  • @pouloskostas My son you are forgiven.

  • A stunning performance!

  • fucking brill!!!!!!!

  • I had to buy harmonica and learn this. Now I walk around the city, around the streets and just play this to strangers.

  • Unbelievable song but not a great performance IMO

  • Wow, that performance gives me chills.

  • sounds woody

  • surely the most humble and honest musician and band in the world

  • Fuck yes!

  • saw him in 84/85 at wembley on his born in the usa tour,4 hours of blood and guts, man was blown away, absolute master !

  • gives me chills....

  • @stopspillinthebeans Exactly...I second that emotion!

  • My little girl always sings along to this, except she sings: Mister, I ain't a boy--no, I'm a GIRL... Lol, six years old...

  • This song is the E Street Band at their best.

  • I love the harmonica on this song so much, However, not particularly keen on Clarence's sax in this.

  • He's the bob dylan of rock n roll(i know bob dylan duz rock but i still think of dylan as more of a folkie or a bluesman)

  • è magnifico!!!

  • My all time favorite Springsteen song. It's perfect from beginning to end. If you don't like Springsteen you are un-american lol

  • "there's a dark cloud risin' from the desert floor...I've packed my bags and I'm heading straight into the storm...gonna be a twister to blow everything down - that ain't got no strength to stand its ground... blow away the dreams that tear you apart...blow away the dreams that break your heart...blow away the lies that leave you nothin' but lost and broken hearted..." - my favorite part! awesome....

  • @ MST720: Yes you're the only one ;)

  • ok am I the only one tthat the song stopped at 1:27 and wouldn't continue?

  • great song !!!

    BOSS ROCKS

  • cool

  • Seriously, I defy anyone to find someone else who is more the complete package of artist and preformer

  • @SW189 There isn't one

  • @SW189 Maybe Freddie Mercury. . . Maybe.

  • @SW189 Well, maybe Freddie Mercury, but if you mean people who are still alive, then I got nothin :p

  • Beautiful, beautiful sax solo from Clarence. Especially the build up. The E Street is one of the few bands in which I can really appreciate everyone's contribution. And this is from someone who loves bands with fantastic musicians such as Led Zeppelin and Rush.

  • Yeah I know right? there's 8 band members and every single one of them plays instrumental on almost every song. Amazing!

  • Bruce empties the tank for every song. He just gives and gives. He is really a true hero.

  • you took that from jon stewart :P

    just kidding, but so true.

  • i did kind of. Stewart got it from the 60 minutes interview. I wasn't trying to be clever. Bruce explained why he gives it his all.

  • @karb33 well put, fully agree w/ you...a true hero

  • this is very good, and can anyone tell me if the black guy who was on the tambourine and the sax is Jonathan "Sugarfoot" Moffett?

  • @chrisisafish

    No...it's Clarence Clemons

  • huh... ok my bad, thank u

  • @chrisisafish

    Your bad indeed

  • @yawateg lol aight aight

  • The guy on the sax is Clarence "Big Man" Clemons

  • there is so much feeling behind this song

Bruce is just the best singer in the world

    love him

  • He is just awesome, Saw him live twice in Philadelphia and at the Spectrum, thanks Bruce!

  • The best of all is the harmony among them ...God, that' s look like freindship must be ! Mes respects !!

  • poor man want be rich rich man want be king and the king.......... trust in your words that s the only one thingto do and follow peace for every one love you ...... thanks

  • i am one Huge fan of Bruce Springsteen. The songs are amazing and i wish he would play next year so i could see him in concert finally. This song the Promised land is a great song for those who are waiting for a special time in their life. Stevie is one hell of a Sax player in this video! GO BOSS!

  • @sch98 That lyric is gonna be my next tattoo!!

  • WHAT A POET!!!!!!

    WHAT A FANTASTIC SONG!!!!

    WHAT A PERFORMANCE!!!!

I ADORE HIS CREATIVITY, LOVE AND STRENGTH.

Saw him with the superb E.Street Band in july here in Vienna - what a night!!!!

The dogs on Main Street howl

    'cause they understand..

I too believe in a promised land..

  • @evelintscherl you forgot WHAT A FAG!!!!!

  • @84cruzazul

Iffen you don't like it then go jump off.....

  • @evelintscherl that song has so much meaning for ME!

  • my fav springsteen song, the harmomica, the sax solo, the lyrics and bruce, just amazing its got it all

  • A true persona of Americana... a small beginnings from Stoned Pony, Asbury Park, New Jersey. Hail to Bruce!

  • The most important lines in the song are: "Mister, I ain't a boy, no I'm a man, and I believe in the promised land." Because he sings that you don't have to be a kid to make your dreams come true.

And even if you are a man and don't believe in the promised land, anyone should when they hear this song. God bless you, Bruce!

  • Great song and an awesome crowd.

  • "There's a dark cloud rising from the desert floor

I packed my bags and I'm heading straight into the storm

Gonna be a twister to blow everything down

That ain't got the faith to stand its ground

Blow away the dreams that tear you apart

Blow away the dreams that break your heart

Blow away the lies that leave you nothing but lost and brokenhearted"

    Love this part :)

  • Have you heard Growing Up yet? awesome song!

  • I've listened to Bruce for 6 years now, but I can't still decide what's my favorite. He's got so many awesome songs that it's imposible to name just one.

  • @oldsoul247 agreed. first it was mary's place when I was about 12, thunder road, then jungleland, but backstreets is my all time fave.

    cheers/Luke.

  • great, thanks for this vid

  • Great video. Bruce puts on a great show and I highly recommend seeing him if you get a chance. My personal favs were the Born in the USA and Tunnel of Love tours. No opening acts.......just Bruce and the E Street Band for 3.5 hours!!!

  • Hell yes.

  • Unbelievable. Everybody needs to experience this.

  • Yes

  • 4:59 Solo!!

  • 3:07 solo!

  • My favorite, my absolute favorite...:)

  • AMEN!

  • Say amen somebody

  • Does anyone know what Bruce said to Clarence at 2:20?
