I've loved Leonard's music for years and own about every CD he's ever done. This song is one of the darkest he's ever written. He's always seemed to have a mystical bent, but here he's lost any vision of a loving reality that some might call God. As frequently, his meaning is not easy to parse. The 1st and 2nd verses don't jibe. Certainly, Leonard doesn't seem to have a lot of hope these days. I'm reminded that some later verses of 'Hallelujah' were much darker than those recorded earlier.

I´m 16 years, and ive been listening to leonards music 4 all my life, but when i first heard this song, i was listening, speechless, so much love into his voice.

This sounds like a goodbye, a beautifull one and he said that it could be his last album. But if he is going to say goodbye, this is the best way to do it.
