Tasos, just listened to this song again , first time for ages. i can understand your point & the lack of appeal, but as you can see from other comments, for irish people of my age this type of song 7 singing had a very resonant feel & was certainly the sort of 'slow dance' song we liked back then. It did reasonably in ESC so some in Europe must have liked it. It still appeals to me 30+ yrs later.
red is now a big star again both in ireland and increasingly in usa where he had a tv special in 2007. he recently had a number one hit with a new song I will Sing and has sell out tours in 2006/7/8 and again in 2009. one of irelands best ever pop stars.
You obviously didn't read my comment. I think the song is very old-fashioned and to leave nothing with me - I have nothing against Red Hurley, who indeed tries his best to give this song something.
