Actually to jump higher you need to have a ''looser'' hamstring. Without that your vertical will increase only a little. I'm a Freshmen 5' 8'' and can touch rim 2/3 times.

I'm a 14 yr old guy ( by the way I'm using my sisters account) and I only have about a 14 inch jump. I'm 6 ft and can only just touch the ring so it would be awesome if I could dunk it. Thanks!

your legs should not be sore the next day, the quads take like 18hrs to repair themselfs funlly...so you can do this workout every day without getting muscle pain.

to jump higher you don't need to get tired, you need to lift heavy ( witiht 3 rep range) and pylometrics.
