  • 0:00 - 0:07 love that part :D

  • When I originally saw the title, I assumed it was about Pontypool in Wales, BOY was I wrong hahahahahaha!

  • this film was shit don't ever watch it with a hang over

  • is this a zombie movie?

  • speech as a literal virus. neato

  • I dont know about you guys but i have tpb on the other tab....

  • shut up or die xD

  • lethal case of ocd

  • can someone tell me what happened in the end? i didnt get the countdown.

  • @MrComeToDaddy

    watch untill after the credits

  • @postalpacifist88 i did but still didnt understand..:$ please explain me

  • Dead Air?

  • They made a movie similar to this where its a radio shock joke reporting whats going on during a zombie epidemic caused by terrorist. The thing is i thought the characters in that film were based off Howard Stern, while the radio dude in this one looks like Don Imus, cowboy hat and all.

  • I enjoyed the movie, especially the ending the real ending after the credit ;]

  • great great great great great great great great great great great great great great greatgreat great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great greatgreat great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great...IM INFECTEDddddddddddd

  • A great, great film.

  • Huh, I live near there

  • Ummm, guys, why is it called Pontypool?

Because there's a town in Wales called Pontypool...

    Is the film staged there?

  • @TimmyTheTyranosaurus Based on the novel "Pontypool Changes Everything" by Burgess

  • @TimmyTheTyranosaurus Lol when I heard the name I thought "That sounds like a place in Wales!"

  • I swear! THIS MOVIE IS THE BOMB! A new experience for a zombie movie fan. It's for you to find out why. Don't want to spoil the fun. GO!!!

  • my balls are itching

  • @BigKittyVideos ur name better not be juan

  • my balls are itchhing

  • i cant remember how it ends . i cant remember how it ends . It just keeps starting over and over again, and over and over and it not called the Lawrence and the table, is it ? not anymore , no. pra, pra, pra

  • Do you have a symbol ? a symbol of symbol

  • breath breath breath breath....

  • all the people saying this is shit obviously didn't had a clue what this film was about...If you want gore this film will probably dissappoint you, but for those who like psycho thrillers i can highly recommend it, very original and much suspense

  • Now that ive watched pontypool i dont want to say the title of the movie to other people

  • Nothing is what it is because nothing is what it was yesterday... So shut up or just die. Because words are suicide and they live just like you and I.

  • from this trailer it seems almost exactly the same as dead air

  • most retarded movie EVER...

  • @tizzyjr WHAT was cheesy about it. It was the first time I was properly Unsettled while watching a movie

  • This is the thinking man's Zombie movies. Highly recommended! The actors were perfect!

  • I agree - wish I had watched this on the big screen. Highly recommended.

  • It's got nothing to do with zombies, there is a political subtext all the way through. Totally satirical and very good.

  • For not seeing too much blood, guts and gore, this turned out to be a fairly descent film. Now I read the book, and I STILL don't/didn't understand it!!!! The premise was fascinating: the English language IS the virus! Fascinating.

  • @ooolala303 FFS DON'T RUIN THE MOVIE!

  • @GamingHell It's because this isn't a zombie movie. If you were paying attention to the movie, you get infected by SAYING certain english words. There is a bit of gore, if you count the girl smashing her head against the window as gore. And at the end, it causes suspense, and questions viewers if there is a second movie or not.

  • @ForgottenXLegend Movie was bad and boring .

  • @GamingHell probably because its not a zombie movie

  • What a shite film (N) thoroughly disappointed. Although it was hard to stop watching... i actually laughed out loud at how cheesy it was! :L

  • if you watch 20 minutes of the movie you just cant stop watching it :)) very good movie

  • So when the next installment..pontypool chages on it's way? anyone?

  • wat? so is this just a another zombie movie or does somthing interesting happen?

  • how kan zombies cut in to the signal?

    wtf, they are mindless zombies,

  • @horrorfreakish THIS IS NOT A ZOMBIE MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!! There, I feel better now.

  • this looks like the dead air trailer

  • @BTWextreme - last night this was on cable, and Dead Air afterward, and Pontypool is LEAGUES better. Dead Air, was really contrived.

  • I enjoyed it. A different spin on the "zombie" genre.

  • This was a good movie. :D

  • I like this movie but I feel something is missing. Maybe I failed at getting the point but it did get my mind babbling and I got this weird feeling that I get when I hear a word but I feel I have to do something like eat my tongue out. I am babbling now.

  • 0:27 ej. co to za program?

znaczy jak się nazywa. bo kurde nie mogę nigdzie go znaleźć ..;/

  • this movie basically took place in a single building and it was still great and i didn't even get bored.

  • This movie... was AMAZING. It did NOT look low-budget at ALL. I didn't know us Canadians were capable of such an amazing film. Thank God for the movie channel.

  • Great film! Pontypool is currently film of the month on Projector.tv. You can watch it there for only 99p

  • William Burroughs wrote this movie in 1964 as a novel. Specifically a trilogy. It's called Nova Express. -_-

One of the better modern Zombie movies out there, but a little more credit where it's due, guys. This is OLD science Fiction. Nothing new here.

  • This movie is absolute garbage i was like wtf is this word are a virus now i could Think of a better movie than this

  • @corderriusb its not exactly its the word, its just that the word triggers the virus

  • poor acting, I dont think many people would agree, Mazzy's character was flawless and original straying away from "the guy with a gun" chracter for a pseudo-zombie movie

  • This movie was so good I almost feel bad about pirating it. Almost.

  • "They're not zombies, they were conversationalists."

When the english language turns on ya, be glad you know Spanish :P

I loved it. Not really even a horror movie, despite the trailer adding on that extra horror-feel to it. Regardless, it's a more mood-driven piece and the "zombies" are really nothing more than a foil to a much larger story. If you like more suspense, give it a try. If your a full-bloody gorehound... good luck.

  • That movie is booooooring.

80 minutes broadcast, 10 minutes wannabe zombies...

    crap.

  • @MrCork180

That's the point. This movie is good because it's mostly broadcast. Movies today are almost nothing but bullshit "ACTION A MINUTE HURR FUCKING DURR".

  • great !!!

  • i used to live here!!! now im in newzealand..

  • this movie isn't a movie its a radio play not that thats a bad thing i love radio horror and this is a very good radio play

  • this movie doesn't make any sence, i like it, but it doesn't make any sence at all!! :) :O

  • times like this i'm glad i live in pontypoool

  • woot

  • OH, IS THIS SET IN THE VALLEYS? IS IT?!

  • Comment removed

  • Will be watching this tonight I think

  • i live near there

  • Same Ellis ROFL

    Wayyyyyy!

  • LOL I live in pontypool.

    xD

  • what a tosspot and sad little person you must be!!!

posting insulting comments on other peoples post, when the initial comment had absolutely nothing to do with you!! coward, a boring boring coward.

  • that time of the month?

  • Just watched this film its brilliant very original

  • **yawn**

  • today %40 still want to separate, this is also a fictional world were discussing.

  • Ang On Pontypool is a place in britain, its were i live, is there lyk anuva place called pontypool were this film is supost to be based on?

  • Finally..

Early in the film you hear about many of the infected spouting random facts from WW2, such as hitler, nazi's, u-boats, etc. The nazi's did alot of research on mind control through radio waves. This whole infection could be a reserfecing attack or contingency plan by the nazi's to attack the allies. This would make sense because English was the language of the allied forces; Canada, USA, UK, etc. The axis countries spoke German, Japanese and Italian.

I would love to hear your thoughts

  • Next...

There were many dominant french undertones throughout the movie. English being the "evil" language, and french being the "saving" language that could be used to avoid infection. Could it have been the french riot police wanted to stop the anchor from informing the others of the cure because they wanted it to spread? There are other examples, over the radio you hear in french talk of separatism. To understand this you need some knowledge of Canada and the desire of Quebecois to seperate

  • I've have a few different theories on the ending of the movie and wanted to get an outsiders take on it.

-Was the anchor man the person who was infecting everyone? at the end the police were saying he was infected. He also saw the girl at the begging of the movie spouting gibberish. Could he have been the one infecting everyone from the start? He also claimed he wanted to make everyone's day a piece of shit from the get go. Was it him talking at the end? or was he the final infected person>

  • I went to Pontypool once. Didn't stop raining. Shit, it was.

  • @stevrosb74 haha sweet

  • it still hasn't!!!!

  • and you worked that out, how??? am i speaking botswalian or something??

  • Does anyone have anything to say about the movie? You all sound stupid.

  • @Courtney214

    shut up cunt

  • @Courtney214. Scroll.

  • @Courtney214 Yea I liked it. A cool new zombie epidemic other than the same old crap. Actually seems pretty believable.

  • @Courtney214 looks rad!!!!!!!!!

  • @Courtney214 The movie was much more than a typical zombie movie. It was a movie of mystery and suspense that plays on your sense of understanding which is an interesting twist.

  • @Courtney214 I have lots to say. This movie was SO surprisingly good, and it took a few days to settle in how much i really enjoyed it. I wasn't impressed during, too much, but once i had watched the whole movie and i had time to process how they told the story and what i thought about the overall subject, i find myself thinking about it A LOT and wanting to watch it again! Thanks for asking. Sounding stupid is easy. ;)

  • there wass no ponmit of wacthing it :L

  • thanks!

  • how the hell is this the zombie film of the year it was terrbile there was like only 1 or 2 zombies in it for like a minute waste of time

  • No offence but ive never heard of this film :| i just seen it on movies on demand

+ i actually live like only a few miles from the REAL Pontypool ;)

  • @JaDaNome

I don't usually fancy zombie movies, but this one was definately worth the ride!

    I bet you'll like it :D

  • Saw this the other day. I really enjoyed it. Would like to read the book now.

    Very cool idea.

  • ok so i just finished the movie. hated the ending. someone commented that this film probably cost $80 to make. at first I was in complete disagreement with him, but now, I could totally see that. LOL terrible movie. if the actors worked for free, and all the equipment was rented, then ya, $80.

hey, I got $27.88 in my pockets right now - anyone want to make a movie with me? i have NO experience at making films so the end result should be similar to Pontypool. :D

  • Obviously you didnt get the metaphor then because if you had you would have realized how genius this film is. There is a reason why the director has not moved to hollywood to work on bigger films. He is putting out a message and a quite profound one at that about the influence media and communication has on people. Ironically, understanding this is the only way to understand the movie about understanding words...hope u understand.

  • princeofpot420, you gotta be stoned out of your mind if you think this film is "genius".

  • Nope, actually was dead sober when I watched this. Unfortunatly were a society of ADD and hyperative retards who always need explosions, car chases and rediculous ammounts of goar to make a movie good. Avatar for example had a terrible plot but nobody seemed to care because of the special effects. Pontypool, for a B movie is amazing. It makes you think about communication and its evolution in society. But of course you didnt get that, all you seem to be concerned with is base entertainment value

  • @Princeofpot420

dude you can't even spell and you're calling other people retards? stop faking depth, please.

  • @butternuts 23

Uh oh, its the grammer police!! Someone get this fool a badge quick! Listen butternuts, did you understand what I said? Of course you did because it was clear and concise. Your brain actually doesnt register all the letters in a word anyways so spelling really doesnt matter too much with respect to comprehension. Faking depth? Hmm maybe you should go back and analyse the message of this movie before you criticise. Its real easy to put forth one sentence answers with no substance

  • @Princeofpot420

    It's spelled grammar.

    Weed is so cool bro.

  • @butternuts

How do you know definitively that its spelt that way? Isnt it possible that other cultures or linguistic forms may spell it a different way? Have you really done your research on this one butter? Probably not because you stick to your one sentence criticism with no real intellectual contribution to the conversation...or lack thereof. And no, weed cannot be cool because in order to enjoy its effects you need to burn it, thus making it hot. Your statement is false.

  • @Princeofpot420

'How do you know definitively that its spelt that way? Isnt it possible that other cultures or linguistic forms may spell it a different way? Have you really done your research on this one butter?'

    It's called a dictionary moron.

'And no, weed cannot be cool because in order to enjoy its effects you need to burn it, thus making it hot. Your statement is false.'

Okay. Have fun jacking off into a tissue. Bye nerd!

  • @butternuts

Dictionaries are not universal, they have the ability to vary from region to region depending on language and cultural meaning fool. What does jacking off into a tissue have to do with my rebutle to your stupid weed comment? Do you need to quote me in order to remember what i said? Funny how you cant provide a complete rebutle to anything I have said...maybe your retarded? Just puttin it out there.

  • *you're

  • @Princeofpot420

    Rebuttal.

    Spelled.

    Can't.

    You're.

  • @butternuts

If your not willing to make sense then nobody will ever take you seriously..oh wait, I think it might be too late for that.

  • @Princeofpot420

"If YOU'RE not willing to make sense..."

It's short for 'you are'. See?

    Here endeth the lesson.

Or maybe it's 'region specific' like the word 'grammar'. Keep it up dumbo!

  • There you go!! Now you get it! You have just admitted to the hypothesis that region specific linguistics are applicable. Thank you. Now your getting it!!

  • @Princeofpot420

    "Now YOU'RE getting it!"

How's life in your mom's basement?

  • @butternuts

Not sure what your getting at. What is this basement you speak of?

  • @Princeofpot420 hehehehe learning FAIL lol it's YOU'RE dude... seriously you and butternuts have been cracking me up. I didn't get that thing about how this movie was about the media, which seems obvious now you mention it, so thanks for that. I'm sorry though, I still didn't like the movie :( I just thought the acting was super poor and the script was a bit thin.

  • @butternuts23 dude you literally had me in hysterics (did I spell it ok?) lol. I love the corrections, you are officially grammer police *fixes badge to butternuts' lapels*. I'm scared to even write this in case you get your red pen out lol ;) Thanks for the laughs, keep up the one-liners, they're egg yolks!

  • Its "maybe you're retarded?" not "your".

    Failed tbh.

  • @mattreddan

why cant I say it the way I want? You cannot control the language use of others even though you obviously like to try. Grammar Nazi maybe? One's ability to spell is by no means a reflection of intelligence. Living in a spell check era, the concentration on spelling becomes less important.

  • No I corrected you because you're quick to insult people, calling them retards, but yet get things wrong yourself? Thinking your a big man talking big words over the internet and still failing. Now sit down with your big bag of fail and behave yourself like a good boy. Adios.

  • No actually if you were slightly more aware of the train of convorsation I merely stated my point about the movie being quite good only to be attacked by others. And no, it doesnt take a big man to formulate a clear and concise statement. I believe you have it wrong as usually it is ppl trying to be tough on the internet, not intelligent. And I dont believe you can put "fail" into a bag...its just impossible. Care to elaborate on how a concept takes physical form and is placed into a bag?

  • Yes, you take yourself, the fail... and place it carefully into a bag.

    Brain science please.

  • @Mattreddan

But then I would have to be named fail and I dont believe ive met anyone with that name, have you? Strange name for a human being...hopefully you dont name your kids that, they might have a hard time growing up with a name like fail.

  • @Princeofpot420

cool bro, go burn another doob. then you can pretend to meditate and do faux tai-chi.

i pray to god you don't have dreads, but i wouldn't doubt it.

and let me guess: 9/11 was an inside job, right?

  • @butternuts

I dont know any stoner who enjoys meditation or tai-chi...I dont see the correlation between the two. And there is not point to praying...your only talking to yourself. No, 9/11 was a terrorist attack plain and simple. Pulled off by radical religious fucktards who think their invisible sky daddy is the right invisible sky daddy. Fucking religion...so full of bullshit

  • @Princeofpot420

pick those statements apart all you want; you're still a goof, and you're still hated.

i bet you do have dreads, and that you play bongos or some shit...

    the horror...

  • @mattreddan1122334455 FAIL now you did it lol! YOU'RE this is seriously the funniest thing ever, it's the infected word!!! hahahahah loves it.

  • @Princeofpot420

you try so hard. there's nothing wrong with being mediocre; get used to it.

  • Nobody has to ever get used to it...unless you want a life that mirrors that sentiment.

  • @Princeofpot420

except that you are, as are your banal and facile ideas. you seem like the type of person that reads a chomsky quote, then preaches about it for a week. the type to spout off huge overstatements about society at large without having anything substantial to back them up with.

either way you're an annoying twat and this is the last of it.

at first i was the only one who hated you. now...now everyone hates you.

but maybe that's 'region specific' too.

  • You are making an assumption that you cannot back up with any rational evidence and therefore have no basis for spouting such remarks. Everyone hates me huh, wow thats a very big statement. I wonder, if I went to China and told some random person my youtube screenname, would they immediatly tell me that they hate me? Or how bout Africa, or Austria...hmm thats alot of ppl, damn im popular.

  • @Princeofpot420

and yes im sure people in austria and china hate you too. all you have to do is open your mouth and let the stupidity flow...

  • @butternuts

Ah but you said everyone hates you in the present tense and therefore you must have meant that everyone hates me at this pesent moment. Then you went on to contradict that statement by saying I would have to speak first. You really need to get your logic in order. And I believe China and Austria should be capitilized or did you skip that day of kindergarten?

  • Well said, the film was the biggest lot of shit ever.... and not just on T.V!!!

  • Yes, death to low budget films with a great idea behind them.

  • not as good a movie as i expected. what i really HATED about it was that there is a scene where a woman drinks from a bottle of scotch or something, and INSTANTLY, she's drunk. WTF! I hate movies that do that. The movie assumes no time has passed because its like the same shot. If they want to have one shot of her drinking, then the next of her drunk, change something so the viewer can assume at LEAST SOME time has passed - like at least 10 minutes. come on. instantaneous drunkenness...

  • @presbarkeep look again. She write something on the doors and then starts drinking. There is a cut, and then you see the doors covered by words. And then she is drunk. So, time as passed.

  • This is a joke from Dead Air they are mocking it and I think dead air is a great film pontypool is just a FAKE and is copying Dead Air as they are both in studios and have the same linesas everyone from dead air as i have watched dead air

  • utter shit...STOP MAKING ZOMBIE MOVIES!!...i cant belive i sat and watched this shit

  • Great idea, good acting. An all round good film.

  • Just downloaded it and watched it and in all gods honest truth, it was one of the shittiest films i've ever watched! Anyone who says this is good is a fucking amateur in rating horror movies!

  • Dead air anyone?

  • this movie was like nothing i had ever seen before. the premiss was the dumbest and most impossible i have ever heard but other than that it was awesome. very scary and i loved how it made fun of cloverfield at one point. one of a kind.

  • so are they like resident evil zombies or like 28 days later ???

  • Its not even zombies, its just dumb infected people who dont do shit! honestly one of the worst films i've ever seen, the whole story was pointless, + they dont even leave the radio station through the whole movie!

  • @jamboapache

Face it, the only reason you find this pointless is because you dont understand its message. Find that, and this movie becomes a profound message to humanity about the dangers of our media and communication methods

  • Ok then smart ass, what is the 'dangers' of our media and communication methods??? Answer that one, because your probably just full of shit! And what the fuck has that got to do with lame ass zombies like the ones in pontypool? Get a fucking life m8, the film was shit, end off!

  • none of the 2 and you only see them very late into the movie.but still a very good rental!

  • Well this seems to be a zombie movie. I never saw it just heard spoony talk about it. I hate horro movies

  • Hey me too. Man spoony finds all sorts of cool stuff. I wonder where I can get this. Maybe online.

  • I heard this from spoony too. I watched it straight away. To be honest, I haven't seen a better zombie movie.

  • Its a good movie. 1000000X better the transformers 2 lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Radio Drama at it's best.

  • To face the zombie infection you need a high location with a sniper and all acces blocked. Also some sort of shelter and food to last till a helicopter finds you. Oh i forgot to mention lots of bullets. PEOPLE dont forget to blow up the staires leading up into the top floor and roof and try not to be alone, you will go crazy.

  • this isn't an ordinary zombie infection. the way it is transmitted is through the english language.

  • only the english language or by any language, becaus otherwise they could just learn korean or french.

  • I sooo get it! i feel so smart the infection travels through words and its not realy zombie but they are a bit xx

  • Comment removed

  • You asshole you ruined the movie for me! Still feel smart ass wad?

  • fucking! llooooooool oh yes !D

  • I've always thought the best way to deal with a zombie invasion was to build a mote of fire around your redoubt... of course you'll also need a couple more barricades behind the mote, since flaming zombies will run just through it and torch your place without them...

Plus you'd need a good escape tunnel... Just in case.

  • I watched Pontypool over 12 times in one Month. That is one of the greatest Films ever.

  • yeah great movie

  • haha zombies in a small town in ontario! hahaha please zombies! go to Uxbridge!

  • wasnt that great, ok film, kinda like a stephen king low budget zombie twist movie, 6/10 imo for effort

  • I thought this was about a small welsh town near me called pontypool. but it's about zombies, i like zombie films. SO THIS BETTER BE GOOD!

  • its about a small town in Ontario, Canada called pontypool. They mention Peterborough, Ontario which is east of pontypool, and highway 35 which is the highway running past Pontypool. I havent seen the movie, but this is what i hear..

  • pontypool wales undoubtably came first.

  • thats not really the point. Im actually watching pontypool right now (hence why i looked at this trailer lol) there naming local roads, like the 401 and drum rd. and sandyhook and wilmont. these are all local roads inpontypool ON. It's actualyl pretty cool that they would do that for a small town.. you know.. minus the zombies lol.

  • I know, but you responded to my post about my confusion over a local town and a movie about zombies in an obviously identically named town, named after pontypool. I LOVE ZOMBIES BTW.
