The war has nothing to do with freedom or liberation. Iraq never threatened our national security and had nothing to do with 9/11. The US invaded Iraq so the troops are the opressors. Get out of Iraq and leave those civillians alone.
The M16/M4 vs the AK47 is a moot point. It's apples and oranges. The AK74 and M4 would be apples and apples. The aussies have used the FN-FAL for the longest time but are switching to an Israeli sub gun that has just left the field test rounds. It's of bullpup design and now I can't think of it's designation. swsmerer, kudo's to you and your unit and great vid.
Would you prefer other weapons and bullets? I honestly think that the NATO based armaments are pretty solid weapons. I mean, the basic M16 service rifle is a little weak compared to its Kalashnikov counterpart, but I'd say it does the trick as far as accuracy goes. :D
yer right man.... the ak-47 is a shoots a superior sized projectile with and an obvioulsy larger muzzle velocity, but yer right, it does do the trick; based off of the person who employes its firepower... the M-16 and the M-4 is in my experience fired much more accurately due to training and discipline than the ak fired by hodge.... thanks for the comment
@swsmerer Ever see high-speed footage of an AK-47 firing? You wouldn't believe how much the barrel wiggles with each shot; that's the major reason why an M16 is more accurate.
No, I'm from the US, but Australia is in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, so it would probably use the same sort of weapons as the US.
I personally the M16 and the M4 are really versatile weapons for individuals, but if Australia were attacked by an actual ground force, I'd say missile batteries and air strikes would be better to dispose of the threat before it reaches the shore.
army, 101st airborne for this fight. Without getting into it, There are many pro's and con's to the war; I think whether a person supports the war or not isn't a yes or no. I had to go, cause it's my job. I go because somebody has to whether it's popular or not. In Iraq, the combat soldiers are there for each other, we take care of each other and have each other's back. My men did very well in this fight, that's why I'm proud of this video and why I posted it. Thanks.
