why u say music is haram?? i live in saudi the most religious place on earth . no proof that the prophet said no to music i think thats being tashadud iyt drives people away .
Dear brother there are lots of true Hadeeths that forbids music as well as Ayas in the Holy Quran .Do't be misled by people who gain money from singers and music instruments and big singing parties >Heave is much better but needs more sacrifices .Read the Hadeeth where prophet Muhammad (Pbuh) said that Jannah is surronded by hardships and difficulties ,but Hell is surrounded with pleasures and ....Its like seeking good grades in college or school you have to sacrifice a lot and toil a lot >
Thank you for that brother, it's always best to go back to the Quran and Sunnah when disagreements happen, and putting the Quran and Sunnah before our opinions and 'justifications' is essential. Our opinions are not perfect, the Quran and Sunnah are indeed.
Thank you for that brother.. it's always best to go back to the Quran and sunnah when disagreements happen, and putting the Quran and the Sunnah before our opinions and 'justifications' is always essential. Our opinions are not perfect, the Quran and Sunnah are indeed.
So as regular muslims we can't say it's haram or halal..the scholars said/done there part..what u could do is choose and stick to one of their opinions and accept that ur muslim brother/sister chose the other party's opinion :)
Mashaa Allah, I completely understand and totally agree with your point of view..we could not use a haram tool for making Dawaa as u said..but I just want to point out that when it comes to music there is an on-going debate about it...most of the scholars agreed on that some instruments and some lyrics are hala while other are not.
Well It is in the Quran actually... but very subtle... i will find it on hadith as well... also on a side note. Music was prohibited before alcohol... so that should be alarming to all music lovers...
Please tell me the Verse of Quran where music is prohibited .... Many muslims at that time were Alcoholic so thats why Allah has prohibited it gradually and at third time its been properly prohibited :)
And of mankind is he who purchases idle talks (i.e. music, singing) to mislead (men) from the path of Allaah [Luqmaan 31:6] [Allaah said to Iblees:] And befool them gradually those whom you can among them with your voice (i.e. songs, music, and any other call for Allaahs disobedience) [al-Israa 17:64]
@yazyh You know, I've always wondered about that line. I always thought idle talks meant back-biting and gossiping. Doesn't seem to have any context with music or songs. After all, the quran can be read as a poem.
@Arcon1337 well I took my understanding from tafsir and from scholars. So it would be best to do the same. in reference to your statement saying there is not context there is. Read the rest of there verses that are its context and see how it mentions "purchases." you can't really purchase backbiting. and the Qur'an should be taken seriously not just like a poem.
I just have one comment about this...........muslims will never be perfect..........but just because they are not as good as what we think they should be does not mean that they dont senserely believe in ALLAH and Islam and the Prophet Mohamed ( SAAWS) even if they learned of islam in this way doesnt mean that they dont belive in ALLAH............ALLAH knows best peoples hearts brother be careful when you judge!
does that change the fact music is haram? No, however, islam says to talk to people in way they understand, the sahaba didnt just imidiately change over night.........the society slowly changed......hearts slowly changed .........and after some time.........AFTER people learned to Love ALLAH...they then slowly changed and adapted more of ALLAHs rules!
everyone's hearts change in different ways and at different intervals..................Hend of the Qurash changed over a time..........after she ate Hamzas liver..........................
In islam at first we bring the message to nonmuslims of ALLAH!
If they accept that then we are to tell them to fast and if they accept that then tell them to pay Zakat!
@babygirljojo1 Theres a song by Anya called Only time, in ur profile its pretty good. I know this is a debated topic, and I will try not to listen as much though, and ill continue too research to find an aswer, but until then I can't say my opinion or what I think about it.
I agree with you brother! and just think about it... how insulting to the religion and to the person that is... I mean how dare someone "impose" on others!!?
I know, no one is going to change their belief, because of a argument they might get in on internet, so I'm not going to get in to 'refuting' the claims thing, but just one thing I'll say about the video.
you cannot equate music with adulatory and intoxications.
Btw I think people confuse music - as in musical instruments - with singing, which is not really forbidden (as far as I know, wallahu a'lam) since we have nasheeds and the like
The thing is, the issue with music is still a hotly debated issue even within the scholars. I have read many articles on the issue and i couldnt yet come a solid conclusion.
But all scholars seem to agree that if music is used to promote something haram, then it itself becomes haram.
there are even people who say even singing is haram (without instruments) and vise versa.
Iam still trying to learn more on this issue and would gladly listen any advice.
All 4 Madhahib strongly opposed it. Abu Haneefa happened to be the most strict one against it, and his Madhab states that if someone is known for listening to music, then it is impermissible to even accept his testimony! The other Madhahib also unanimously rejected the thought that musical instruments are Halal.
jazak Allah khair brother for making this reminder unfortunately muslims ignore that to give dawah we shuld actually start with ourselves and REALLY live Islam and its teaching and make sure that we're reperesenting the true islam...and those who end up converting on the hand of such people well that's jus not good, may Allah guide us all
Also I have to say that I as a Muslim don't judge anyone, I believe we should all pray for eachother. I had a Muslim class mate, she did los of forbidden things, and big ones, and all I did was go home to my mom and cry, and I just said may Allah guide her and make her better. I never judged her, I dont like to judge. No Muslim is perfect, except the prophets PBUH them all, and we can all try to be better, but we cant be perfect. We should advise eachother yes, but not judge, Peace to all
and btw. I do agree with you on some parts. But you're comparing music with weed, alcohol and sex. Things that God has CLEARLY forbidden in the Qur'an. God has not forbidden music. But still I'm not saying all music is halal. Just like all tv shows are not all halal...etc.
I also dont agree on the fact that people say musical instruments are haram. God has not forbid it. The prophet pbuh used/supported the musical instruments they had at the time.
I agree.... Muslims even invented the guitar themselves also. It really depends how you are using it cause you can turn anythingg in this world and make it haram ......... it depends on how ur using it.
"Narrated Abu 'Amir or Abu Malik Al-Ash'ari: that he heard the Prophet saying, "From among my followers there will be some people who will consider illegal sexual intercourse, the wearing of silk, the drinking of alcoholic drinks and the use of musical instruments, as lawful." Sahih Bukhari.
That hadith contradicts the Qur'an. The prophet pbuh was predicting the future... In the Qur'an it clearly states that the Prophet cannot see or predict the future
[7:188 ] Say (O Muhammed), "I have no power to benefit myself, or harm myself. Only what God wills happen to me. If I KNEW THE FUTURE, I would have increased my wealth, and no harm would have afflicted me. I am no more than a warner, and a bearer of good news for those who believe."
@pwnatard if you are talking about nasheed (singing with no music), it is halal, but if it is about music that we see today in tv singers and so on, these are haram, from the quran and the sunnah. please brother don't say things about our prophet that are not true. he never used any musical instrument neither and nor allowed them. fear allah. there are plenty of verses that forbid music interpreted in quran as (lah'w al'hadith, alzoor, and albattel). our prophet too prohibited music of any kind
@pwnatard Music is harâm based on the authentic ahadeeth and according to some tafseer, surah luqman mentions that music is harâm. If music is halal then show me proof that it is halal.
@puffdaddybaby thw scientist told muslim it was a toxic drug they lied and the muslims belived it its all bullshit they even told the imams to forbid it as well lol , its all a game im not discussing or argue with people anymore the truf is the truf
Then U don't understand it brother ! it says don't use haram even for medication !!! it says Allah created illness & cures, heal yourselves and don't use haram to heal
i wonder why do u relate music to drinking to illegal relationships , the three are separate totally and each one of them has a level of being forbidden !
and about music , not all music are haram , as well as not all of them are halal , i'm not a mufti as u r not .
if that is what u r thinking , that's fine . but don't make people have bad impressions about islam .
and don't forget that the "Ansar" welcomed the prophet PBUH with a song !
@jouhainey They are put in the same category here... The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: Among my ummah there will certainly be people who permit zinaa, silk, alcohol and musical instruments (Narrated by al-Bukhaari taleeqan, no. 5590; narrated as mawsool by al-Tabaraani and al-Bayhaqi. See al-Silsilah al-Saheehah by al-Albaani, 91).
@pwnatard How does it contradict the Qur'an? The Prophet SAW was in constant communication with angels. They told him things, it's not like he just made it up. And that is not the only hadith about music or musical instruments. The duff is permissible because of the hadith which says women can play the duff to celebrate Eid. But there is no daleel for any other instrument... Wa Allahu alam.
the prophet(pbuh) did not predict the future but Allah does and Allah clearly says:Nor does he speak from [his own] inclination. It is not but a revelation revealed,(An-Najm (The Star) 53:3-4) so somethings that the prophet(pbuh) said will happen in the future n it did, was revelation from Allah.
No that's wrong. What the Qur'an is referring to is the words of THE QURAN. It clearly says that the words of the Quran is not the prophet's words but God's words only.
great arguments. jazak allah.
