mp4 to avi tutorial

Whenever I try to open an avi file to covert it to mp4, I just get a blank white screen and it only converts the audio. Help? :(

what about the audio...you convert the video ,,,but you lose the audio..aren't you...

.how do i keep it ....

all this tutorial have the same problem ...a lot of converter of the video but all of them without audio...so i repeat ...how do i keep or transform the file within the audio????

Help im was using this software on my computer no memory problem and I bought a new laptop and downloaded this on it same as the pc but when I change a 30 mb video to avi it fly up a to 233 per video is this because im missing some software please help

@Soulhater312 did you download Quicktime. If you have, look at the windows updates, make sure everything's up to date

@REALpineEATER you can't really convert sd footage into HD footage. You can render in HD. I will look a little better but now as good as if you rendered HD footage.

whenever i try to open my mp4 file it says "MPEG... has stopped working. windows is checking for a solution for the problem." and then it just says "windows could not find a solution for the problem" and it kills the program...can you help my with this problem?

@Tratiz Have you got Quick Time installed? I know that with windows 7 you don't need it to open .mov and .pm4 but some applications need Quicktime.

What kind of .avi are you talking about? They come in several flavours. AVI DV Type 2 would be good. It's used as the native format in many editing systems.

@macindurham try putting the settings to default. you could also try playing your vid in quick time

I have converted MP4 to AVI using this program. When imported to movie maker, the audio runs fine, but the picture is EXTREMELY slow :( PLUS, the picture looks like widescreen compressed. Should I change settings before converting? I am filming in 720 on a Sony Webbie HD...it's new and I have yet to be able to get a new editing program and am stuck using Moviemaker until I can get the cash together for something BETTER! LOL! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

make sure you have the latest Apple Quicktime ether that or the copy of MPEG Streamclip was a corrupt download. You could try uninstalling it and downloading a fresh copy.

I use Vagas 9 pro and AVI's work ok on that, not sure about Platinum. All you can do is try
