@ECIISTD Halen used to do it. It's for when you're soloing so you don't have to use the side of your hands to mute the strings. It mutes them so there is no string noise while you're soloing... I hope that makes sense... kinda weird to explain, really.

Although Xenakis is TOTALLY AMAZING that actually isn't his piece. It's Krzszytof Penderecki's Threnody for the victims of Hiroshima. a few minutes in. Amazing piece of music from an amazing composer. BTW it's nice to see another fan of modern classical that's a dillinger fan. Good for you.
