Ha, brilliant. The 'replacement' mike lyndop cabbages up the intro. No wonder he looks like he's got a turtle's head about to appear. Additionally, I don't know what your smiling at Mr Husband. Everything that glitters isn't 'Gould'. Nice one for keeping away from this cabaret Phil.
Sounds kind of tired - definitely not Level 42 without the others. Phil and Boon were (and are) vastly underrated and, of course, Mike added such a high degree of character to the band (at least Mike is back now). There were two versions of the World Machine album. The version originally released in North America didn't contain "Dream Crazy", "I S;eep On My Heart" and "Coup D'Etat". These were replaced by "Hot Water" and "The Chant Has Begun".
Brilliant track. Couldn't believe it when I bought the CD version of teh album and found this track on there - why would they have left it off I ask 'cos it's a great tune. Like The Return of the Handsome Rugged man - awesome track!

Amazes me that no-one has ever done a successful cover of a Level 42 tune. ANybody know of any L42 tribute bands?
CHR15GR 3 years ago
I think there's a band called 'Live 42' who do L42 covers...

Mark King should have played with a top line up. Think what the Chili Peppers would do with this track, I'd love to hear it!

i'm a great fan of the chili peppers, but they just don't have the hang of this certain funk, they would'nt even like hearing it ;)
