  • I am in the fight to block the Right to Work in indiana. Twice the work @ Half the Pay. brought to you by Republican Thug Mitch Daniels & Party.

  • Fight! Fight! Fight! Socialism os dead !

  • Proletariats fight for the unions because no one will fight for us!

  • Fight for Communism !

  • I will never join a union, However I respect the right of a person to join a union or the right to form a union. I also see a big problem when one cannot vote on these matters without your vote being confidential.

  • I'm a union maid, too! Child labor laws, 5 day work weeks, minimum wage--we'd have none of these without our unions! BUY AMERICAN!!!!

  • somebody have this song with pete seeger and judy collins????

  • What is a "gink" ?

  • I've loved this song for years--this is a terrific version.

  • Think uncompensated labor is not a problem? Know anybody who gives away their sweat out of fear of being accused of not being a team player? Every heard of workplace bullying and abuse of power? These things are alive and well.

Sure, there's room for cooperation and compromise for mutual interest. But don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. We need unions more than ever. A good union rep can be crucial to protection. And I'm saying after working 15 years with unions as a manager.

  • Oops, forgive me Pete! You are still an American icon, even if I don't agree with your politics.

But who can blame you??! When you came of age Unions were definitely needed, but now it's ok to admit that a lot of them have become way to strong and corrupt, power is a beautiful thing, when you reach the top, who wants to give that up?

Examples are numerous, from Jimmy Hoffa to Andy Stern.

    Absolute power corrupts.

  • @thescrimshaw Right, because those great job makers, like Bernie Madoff and Ken Lay are so virtuous and noble, they'd NEVER try to be corrupt!

  • @wharghoul , well, hold on there, deputy dog, them there folks were nothing but crooks. Let's not mix apples oranges.

  • Oops, forgive me Pete! You are still an American icon, even if I don't agree with your politics.

  • Pete Seeger is alive and well, and does see the beauty of America. You've been listening to teabagger propaganda. Protecting worker's rights does not take away free enterprise. Please do not throw around terms you clearly don't understand. No one has advocated socialism or communism. Read more and watch Glenn Beck less, and you just might wind up less ignorant.

  • I love Pete Seeger , a man that stood for the common man, and who doesn't love his songs?, but If we take away private enterprise, are we not stooping to the level of socialism and it's brother communism?"

Pete Seeger loved America. How can you love America without loving it's ideals?

So, he would have matured and saw the beauty of America.

Protect the job makers! Without job makers and private enterprise you do not have jobs. Say NO to state run economy!!!!!!

  • @thescrimshaw You DO realize Pete Seeger is a socialist, right?

  • @wharghoul ...yea, maybe I didn't express myself well. I meant to say I really appreciate his heart felt music, but I don't agree with his politics. It seemed to be always us, the working man, against them, the evil employee.

So, my point was, maybe naively, that he would have eventually come around to appreciate the job maker and the one that provides employment.

  • @thescrimshaw Well, being as he's still alive and still a socialist, I don't think he's going to come around to "appreciate the job maker" any time soon.

  • @wharghoul socialism is not marxism/communism so there are hundreds of strains of socialism.. So dont denegrate people by labeling them with riduculous labels.. I see nothing wrong with a person wanting to help the disadvantaged, many of whom are in that position because big busines in western countries have decided to maintain Communist governments in power in China, Vietnam etc by transferring production and our jobs there.

  • @thescrimshaw how in the hell do unions = state-run economy? exaggerate much?

  • We're still fighting in Indiana. We have another march on the Statehouse today!

  • @dylanfan1941 If mitch daniels manages to make our hoosier state a right to work state we will lose all hope... We cannot lose the UNIONS! in Indiana! not one step back!

  • Boycott Wisconsin: no cheese without collective bargaining. This was RAPE! There's a call for a nationwide STRIKE!
